Re: David Hodgson Interview

I also like Hodgy and he definitely made Quakers one of the best teams to watch at that level I always thought this was a myth of his own creation tbh. He always used to talk about us playing this attractive brand of football, but other than than undeniable technical ability of a few of the players...

So, if I'm looking at this correctly, we beat Farsley on Sat and we are mathematically safe as, regardless of what Blyth do in their last two games, Farsley won't be able to catch us.
Correct. It's a big old game.
Fair to say its our biggest game in something like 8 years?

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…

Things have fallen apart on and off the pitch at Blyth since the takeover. The takeover has yet to go through so we've been hamstrung in terms of recruitment. The old Chairman has been reluctant to invest while he's selling the club and the new chairman unwilling(or unable) to do so as he doesn't o...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board

Get something on sat then we cant start making the statues, second bit is a joke of course but what a job both have done! Jokes aside, get Sat out of the way then pray we can tie both Steve and Terry down for at least another year, 2 ideally. Yeh I think even if we were to go down, assuming we can ...

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…

There's one or two things gone on in the background at Blyth that don't sound great. Apparently there's been a couple of cutbacks at the club since the takeover was announced with a big fanfare, one of which means the club is no longer providing food for the players on away trips. The independent s...

Just when NLN wave goodbye to Bishop Stortford, up come Needham Market FC - almost Ipswich!!
Needham Market will go south.

We will get Chesham and possibly Oxford City and St Albans I think.
Personally, I'd be very happy with that!

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024

I think Southport are still in a spot of bother even though they have 53 points. Their goal difference is only 1 goal better than ours and they have 2 massive games to play. They are at home to Rushall on Saturday, and on current form I quite fancy an away win, and their final match is away at Sout...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board

It was pointed out much earlier in the season how few points separated pretty much everyone from 5th down, and I expect that's played a part in why a slightly higher total than usual will be needed to stay up this year. Spennymoor looked in danger of being sucked into the mire a while ago but are no...

Re: Darlington V Southport

Unless he's absolutely ripping it up in training, I can't see Watson putting him in under current circumstances, and it seems unlikely that he's ripping it up in training if he's lacking match fitness.

Watson's record is 10-0-9, not a single draw!

But crucially a +50% win ratio. I couldn't have dreamed he'd win 10 from 19 at the point when he joined.
And it took a few games for us to get into gear - there wasn't a 'new manager bounce' when he came in.

Re: Darlington V Chorley

To me the 2 must win games are Southport and Farsley any other points are a bonus This is my take also - annoying I'd have only had Farsley if we had beaten Rushall... They might be the two most winnable games (on paper) but heaping all the pressure on those two games is also not a great idea. We s...

Saw this thread from Leamington FC on Twitter last night regarding their new ground. Lots to be jealous of, not least the level of support from Warwick District Council. If only DFC could get some real strong local government support behind us and build the football club into the local plan. https:...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

It would be a real surprise if he's able to make a meaningful contribution in the final 5 games of the season. He's been out so long now that he's probably still in need of this "mini pre-season" that was talked about months ago. He's very clearly been injured, unfit and fragile over a very long pe...

I wonder if Asante comes into the reckoning for this match. Maybe a place on the bench. Not sure why we’d want him on the bench - for me Main , Nelson , Curry and Rutledge should all be in the side before him (if fit ) We need togetherness and team spirit You seem to be suggesting that Asante's inc...

Signed on loan from Gateshead. Striker who seems to have a pretty decent goalscoring record. Sounds like a bit of a fox in the box.

Not sure exactly who is contracted for next season, other than Nelson, but of those under contract, who would you move on if we could do so? None - unless Asante is one. Re: Moke gone

Think my first port of call would be Sunderland to see if we can keep Young for the entirety of next season. He and they may prefer him getting a full season in men's football rather than go back to kids games. I know they think he is their next number 1 but I doubt he will replace Patterson just y...
