Re: 68
Chandler must hate this, of all players I have seen in a Darlo shirt he seemed to get motivated when the fans got behind him and knowing that he could get the fans motivated in turn with his style of play. Hatchy, he probably misses it more when he has less people to sit amongst when he is suspended!

Re: Pigeons coming home to roost.
The day the FA effectively folded us and made us effectively reform, was the day that we let go of any obligation to try and help any creditors of the old club out. Paying back the creditor was nowt to do with the FA. For all I feel it may go someway to appease them moving forward as we can say "lo...

Re: Secret Shopper, Can't even have a bit of banter now!
To be honest there was a bit of abuse directed at officials on a few occasions, but nothing too severe. This is all I can think. I moved around a bit and I did hear a fair bit directed towards the referee and not really at times he'd even done anything wrong! Literally just because he was stood nea...

Re: Pigeons coming home to roost.
Wish they'd done a bucket instead of price increase. If they had advertised the facts like the 2.5k owed and their own financial situation think they could have done better than £1,800 (900 x £2) which they took from us. It's a shame because I do sympathise with N&S over what has happened before, £2...

Imagine it will be so the players can spend time with their families instead of football taking up the full day.

Re: Goodwill to all men but............
Definately seems a better way to spend six figures than Julian Joachim was! The biggest challenge cost wise is going to be the main stand. Terracing can be built at one end for a fair price. We have seating for the other end with some hard standing along the other side. Moving forward terracing coul...

Re: Promotion
No Spenny have not applied for promotion before. So if they have applied this time then they mean it. The environment is different this time. In past seasons the headlines have been who is going to come out on top West Auckland or Spennymoor going right down to the wire. The league title being the ...

I remember when I was a kid some of the non league ground my Dad took me to and I loved it they didn't have seats! Sometimes it was just normal league games other times it was for Darlington pre-season matches. In fact one game, such was the layout of the ground I ended up having a kick about with o...

HP pitch is unbelievable. It got battered on Wednesday night whilst being played on and at the end it didn't even look like it had been touched, it's either a good pitch or the players were playing with helium in their boots!

Re: Goodwill to all men but............
I didn't understand at the time and still don't understand now how the football share was ever the property of that man instead of belonging to the football club. How he was ever in a position to hold over us the one thing we needed to actually play in the league baffles me. Couldn't agree more. Re...

Re: Your Best & Worst Films of 2012
I didn't mind the spiderman remake to be honest, I watched the old trilogy again and they weren't anywhere near as good as I remembered them. Dark Knight Rises was fantastic the whole trilogy was one of the best I've seen (assume everyone has seen it here before a mini spoiler) not sure I am looking...

It missed a couple of our chances aswell. One of the best moves in the match where Purewal, Dowson and Thompson linked up in the first half with a few first time flicks and in the second half when Dowson had his mid air shot. I wanted to see the Thomas offside decision again as well.

you're not alone a guy on the NLZ said the same thing. I might take a closer look next game. For me he has the size and athleticism to do well there and to be fair Moore is a decent player to play against He definately is. If we get promoted I would love us to re-sign Chris Moore again, he is good ...

Re: Match thread...
I'd have taken a draw before KO. Little bit surprised that Spennymoor were happy to play for the draw (That's the only reason I can think why their Keeper needed 20minutes on every goalkick!) In saying that I never felt comfortable all game and did think we would get caught on the break. Surprised e...

Re: Spennymoor Fans Paying On Night
This worries me a little bit to be honest. It means one of two things either almost 100% of their normal home support is coming (that would be really good, genuine Spennymoor supporters, just up for a good game of football). The alternative is that there are going to be some turning up just for this...

Re: Reay signs for Aycliffe
There seems to be a bit of confusion as to whether this is permanent, temporary or a loan. We released him It's not quite as simple as that. If we released him we'd have to pay up his contract. If we didn't have to pay out anything to him then really good on the lad wanting to go and play football....

Re: Spennymore have won the league 3 times?
As much as I would like to see the North East better represented at the higher steps of non-League, could a town of Spennymoors size sustain itself in the Conference Premier...I reckon Conference North would be a hell of an achievement Spennymoor couldn't but then I wouldn't have said the same abou...

You will get to Conference Prem, maybe beyond if your owner continues to bankroll, similar to Fleetwood, not sure how wealthy your man is though.Orvil wrote:The floodlights will be to conference prem standard, whether we get that far is another thing altogether!
Otherwise you won't.

Re: New Loan Signings
What worries me about players on loan, is that quite often the club loaning the player expects them to see first team action Not sure if it's the same at our level. They are still playing for their parent clubs at the same time so they are not missing out through not playing, they are getting both ...
