His name was mentioned twice but each time I didn’t catch it. He’s a Darlo fan and a cricket journo from the North West is all I know!

Re: Early kick offs in general…
I did hear on Saturday that Mansfield are to kick off at 1pm on 15th Oct against Walsall apparently for this very reason.
I note that their future Saturday home fixtures after the 15th are still shown as 3pm. I wonder if they are giving it a go to see what happens with their crowd numbers!

Re: Gramps Banned
Just thought this deserved it’s own thread in case it gets lost in another thread. After all he has diverted enough topics in the past. Hopefully now we will get some better debates about our beloved club without descending into meaningless rancour, and some who have stopped using the forum may ret...

Hi, for awareness Darlogramps has been banned from posting on the board. This is due to the constant derailing of threads which end up in petty keyboard fighting. Within this thread alone the user has somehow managed to turn this thread into something bizarre which has ended up with the user accusi...

Pete Jameson
I went to watch Stevenage v Harrogate yesterday, Stevenage should have won by 3 or 4 but Pete Jameson was superb.
He made a number of outstanding saves, I’ll fondly remember him as being one of the best keepers we’ve ever had!

Re: Rugby League
Well that didn't go according to plan. Clearly Bateman being sent off was a disaster for Wigan, but the writing on the wall clearly before the sending off. I think we lost it when Bevan French got injured in the first half. Anyway, well played Leeds. I'm routing for Salford and hoping they can also...

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
The fracas at the end, Morley starting in Alun and Alun completely lost it. I thought he was going to break free from the players holding him back. Spennymoor really does have some poisonous characters in its ranks. After Alun and Bernard were rightly sent off you just cannot send them both down th...

Early kick offs in general…
I’m watching the local news (I live down South) this morning. Southern non league clubs are negotiating to give them the option to kick off early on Saturdays as an energy saving option.
This makes absolute sense to me, anyone know if this is being discussed in the Northern leagues?

Poetic licence was hilarious I particularly lmao at the there's the stadium moment clearly the Riverside at Boro with the Tees beside then landing in Blackwell Meadows. Radio commentary of Gary Coatworths last minute winner 300 miles away at Welling and a character says I'm off to the game now I ai...

Re: Odds for 22/23
Just had a look at NLN odds for coming season. William Hill have us fourth favourite at 9/1, behind favourites Flylde, Kidderminster and Brackley. Think that is rather optimistic, I don't think I'll be investing anything at those odds. They also have Scarbourough as favourites to go down. Bookies w...

Re: Darlo’s worst XI
I can’t believe there’s a ‘worst Darlo player’ thread and Steve McMahon hasn’t been mentioned (apologies if I missed it).
Easily the worst at the respective level I’ve seen play for Darlo, came from the Chinese league, very tall striker, who couldn’t hit a barn door.

Re: English cricket.
Nightmare for Broad today as he concedes 35 in one over, a world record. I don't think Broad should carry on playing for England, we need some young blood. Pete you only seem to comment when something bad happens to the England Cricket Team. What about the 3-0 series win against New Zealand this su...

Scored 2 goals in the first half today for Rochdale at home to Bristol Rovers. Can’t recall him scoring since his transfer, so congratulations to him. Hope these are the first of many and he can bag us some more money in the future by scoring more goals and getting another move. I went to watch him...

Re: Rugby League
Great win for Wigan tonight, as they win at bitter rivals Warrington. Seems like Hull KR are on a downward spiral as they get nilled by lowly Leeds. What a load of shite you utter at times. 2 weeks ago we lost Micky Lewis for up to 8 weeks with an ankle injury. Last week Kane Linnett ripped a bicep...

Re Cassidy, he looked great when Charman was in the team. I reckon keep him and play to his strengths. IMO we’re better with him than without him. For me if we can’t get a Mark Beck or Aaron Martin type of player I’d keep Cassidy too I can’t believe we’re thinking of letting Cassidy go tbh! He’s a ...

4. The unattractive nature of our level (Kettering at home on a January Saturday afternoon hardly screams glamour). Do you think that Stevenage, Barrow or Harrogate have any more glamour attached to them? This isn't actually aimed directly at you particukarly. Should have been positioned "Does anyo...

No just a realistic assessment of where we stand. I am happy to keep supporting my team as I have done for 55 years but I know progression under our current ownership model is unlikely. What I personally would like to see is Darlington Football Club regain EFL status at some time in the future. Not...

Just touching on the convo above, it is also my ambition to see us to get back to the FL, I have many reasons for this, bigger clubs, better attendances, better quality of football and refereeing, Proper rivalry, better stadia etc but one of the main reasons for me is I feel a town our size should ...
