His team talk the other day, with the f word every other word was embarrassing. Not that I'm a puritan, but if you're swearing every other word, you're not communicating effectively.
Watch it and look at the players’ faces. They’re not buying into his nonsense

Re: Who next?

We need a firefighter who can get a tune out of this squad. Other managers refer to how we are good on paper etc but something is clearly rotten and the rot set in last winter. It was negativity all the way from January and this continued over the summer, spilling into this season. Beck and Lambert ...

Re: Who next?

Loved MG’s contrary interview responses…
Week 1
Ray: ‘well Martin a 3-0 win. You must be delighted?’
MG ‘no not at all.’

Week 2
Ray: ‘well Martin a defeat today. You must be disappointed..?’
MG: ‘not at all I was delighted with the performance…..but one thing is clear this club needs investment…’

Re: JG sacked

Agreed. He should’ve gone at the end of the season. Once we kicked off 23-24 he should have had longer. It’s not like we’d have been adrift by Christmas. The Buxton debacle was difficult and was never fully explained. Thing is he’s not really a ‘coach’ and we lost count of how many average teams cam...

That was a terrible performance today, we just didn't seem to have any clue how to beat BS. The pitch was terrible today, the ball was bobbling all over the place. But it was the same for BS as for us. No doubt we'll win on Tuesday. Credit to the BS fans who make the long journey up when your botto...

I think had we won tonight we’d probably have gone and blown it Saturday. (I blame myself for taking off my mint green away shirt after 5-a-side and having a nervous shower. Come out and it’s 1-1)….Jonny back on Saturday plus Asante fitter and stronger. I’m quietly confident because this is still an...

Looked like Hazel waved us farewell today as he was subbed and then the way he approached us at the final whistle. Sukar had a good game today. I still think he has future leadership potential

Exactly this…we obviously rested players with an eye to our two pretty crucial games next week. Thought Lees looked at fault for the first but he grew into the game and looked more solid. Second was a long-ranger. My standouts today - Griff, Sukar, Moke, Ngandu. We looked better when Will and Salkel...

Adriano is my favourite player. Tidy on the ball and never gives it away. Definitely worth keeping him to play in front of the back four with Platt or Lindley

Re: GOWLING OUT

Playing devil's advocate here. In his interview I believe he had analysed Darlington games, maybe even watched them, and has concluded that a number of players, who have played appallingly since February, are not good enough, regardless of seniority or not, so feels the squad needs big changes True...

Set to be announced on loan from York City, Taylor won’t be returning. For me he would be a good signing , has kept over 20 clean sheets when on loan at Scarborough, was also very highly rated by Andy Collet who wasn’t a bad keeper himself For me Whitley and Burton are the types of players who shou...

Going off of Twitter rumours this weekend.

Apparently Adam Lakeland, then of Curzon, applied for the role & wasn't even given an acknowledgement.

&& Steve Watson was apparently 1st choice.
I had heard that Lakeland had got to the final three candidates along with JG plus one other

Christ I’d forgotten about Lindley already…can’t keep up. Yes sorry Winfield LWB. Lindley will have to play also so a ‘name’ might have to de dropped? Squad has gone from too small to having several players for each position. Presumably Lindley is a replacement for Moke who I like but fear is not in...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington

So when Alun was saying’we knaa what we’ve got in there Ray’ did he genuinely believe that we had a competitive team with good characters etc or was he just trying to get us all pumped up? When we hit our poor run he then talked about ‘the lads are fragile’ etc. it seems like those worried about our...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington

I like this too. Only issue is Hedley is very right footed to play LB. Also whenever we play 442 there’s a loud consensus that ‘we keep getting overrun in midfield’
I don’t like 352 but JG seems intent on playing it as did Alun throughout pre-season hence his addition of Windass. Is he injured btw?

On reflection, if you break us down player by player, there aren’t many who you would single out as not being good enough for NLN football. TT - solid keeper Griffiths- good RB Lees - solid CB Lawlor - mostly solid CB Sukar - mostly solid CB or LB Mustoe - mostly solid LB? Platt - very good DM Hatfi...

I thought the goals were pretty awful at the game. On YouTube they should come with a XXX rating. To call it schoolboy defending would be an insult to schoolboys. If some players are unhappy that their cosy status quo has been busted then they should have tried a lot harder to keep AA and DH in a job. It was too cosy and poor performances didn’t result in team changes for months on end

It was a nothing game and then we gift them like that twice in 3 minutes. Add to that our zero threat up front and I’m afraid relegation looks a formality. Hazel and Curry offer nothing. Salkeld and Hatfield only ones to come out with any credit so far. Still not sure why Salkeld is playing left win...
