Re: Aaron Martin wanted from Gateshead
Super_Les's earlier post affirms that the Club had/has designs on acquiring Aaron Martin. It seems totally implausible to suggest that the Club would pursue the likes of him if they had zero room within the budget.

Re: Goodbye Jack Lambert
I'm also very pleased that Jack has achieved his aim of getting back into full time football. He was honest about his desires. So, we can have no complaints - we also had the benefit of some fantastic goals. It's also a relief that we're unlikely to be facing him next season (barring a twist of fate...

Re: New players and targets
Enjoyed the trip down memory lane, but back to the matter in hand. I believe our top priority has to be a striker, simply because we have cover everywhere else, but not upfront. Callum Kavanagh now has 31 football league appearances in spells at Harrogate and Newport County and only 3 goals - maybe...

Re: New players and targets
1. So with a squad of 13 signed on I think we still need the following - GK CM x 2 LW CF Who do we think AA will be looking at? Wonder if there will be a loan player or two in there ? If Felix and Liddle both sign then the squad will be starting to take shape. Gk. Taylor Defence. Griffiths, Hedley, ...

On the face of it, it looks like ownership changed without the Chorley fans having any inkling it was even happening, never mind not having any say in the matter! Whether this sort of thing (and the reported convoluted situation at Scunthorpe) will be a thing of the past once the Football Regulator ...

1 Hasn't Lees left Blyth due to work commitments? Appreciate we are a heck of a lot closer to Harrogate than Blyth are, but how significant are these working commitments? My understanding is that he works in Knaresborough. So a trip to Catterick is a lot closer than Blyth. I'd be surprised if we are...

Re: D.J. interview online now.
Which is what happened to Gateshead. The situation at York City is more pertinent. The Supporters Trust has a 49% shareholding and have zero control over how the current 51% shareholder is running the club. I also don't think they would have any say in who he may subsequently sell his 51% sharehold...

This smacks of the ridiculous brexit referendum. You would need to know exactly what is on offer and what the potential outcomes could be before conducting any poll of members.

Re: D.J. interview online now.
I don’t understand why the sudden U turn from DJ. He has never promoted outside investment before, the new ground proposal was always intended to work under fan ownership. Surely a few bad results haven’t changed his opinion? I've re-listened to the DJ's interview. Nowhere is he advocating DFCSG co...

Re: New players and targets
Had a look at the Whitby website, could be Bradley Fewster, he’s 27 now, so a good age, I know he played for us a while ago, he got 10 goals last season. I don't think Fewster did play for us, although strangely, I think he did manage to appear in the squad photo at the start of the 2017/18 season.

1 Sorry Andy P, that is not what I meant at all, I know that times are hard, and there will be lots of brilliant fans who are not in a position to contribute and that definitely does not make them any less a passionate fan, it was more about the individuals and the club may be holding bits back to e...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans
The increase in capacity of 700 might be a stumbling block, as I believe DJ has previously said that the Rugby Club are opposed to any more development. If that is the case we would be completely stymied. Absolutely not true!! Neither DJ nor DRFC have ever stated that. DRFC have no issues with the ...

Re: King's Lynn
Bishops Stortford (224 miles) just promoted to Step 2 may well get placed in the North it seems. I think there are four candidates Oxford City, St Albans, Bishop Stortford and Braintree. I guess it will boil down to the aggregate mileage they would be subjected to. I’ve got vague memories of Bishop...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans
Point of information. DBC has no overall control as a result of the local elections. Labour has the largest number of councillors but they don’t have a majority. We’ll have to wait and see ie whether they wish to propose a deal with either the Greens or the Lib Dems.

Re: King's Lynn
Another good playoff result, Brackley winning at Chester. I much prefer having Chester in our league.
In National League South, Oxford City and St. Albans are through to the playoff final. I think there's a good chance that the losers could find themselves in National League North next season.

Re: Peterborough Sport v Darlo
I agree with Lawman3's concern about the loss of form. Just one conversion of a draw into a win, or an avoidance of a defeat in our calamitous run would have put us into the playoffs. However, I would like some clarity from Darlobill on what he sees as necessary outside investment and how this would...

Two things caught my eye (other than those already mentioned): The balance sheet is boosted by a current book valuation of £387,000 for Land and Buildings. This will be the infrastructure at Blackwell, which, in reality, is worth nothing. Our playing budget appears to be in line with the NLN median...

If you think we've got the jitters, just try being Andy Whing, the Banbury manager. They've gone from play-off places to relegation threatened after a terrible run. "I haven't slept for about three weeks," he said. Let's hope he's still got bags under his eyes after tonight. According to Flashscore...
