Re: New Blood

I am sure when there is newsworthy news it will be announced. Will it? What is Henshall's injury and how long is he likely to be out for? What is up with Ainge and how long is he likely to be out for? What about Hughes? Again, what is his injury and how long? The club has made no comment on the abo...

Re: Kokolo

Good player who was poorly supported especially ohanlon who has no positional sense and was only interested in passing back as opposed to supporting him down the wing. Second half poor lad drifted out as he was not getting ball absolutely no directional support from the touchline the TW tactic was "...

Re: Tommy's interview - seething

The lack of players attending training should not be a surprise to the board as several fans attend & it was mentioned in the Tin Shed that most of TW's friends were never there & recently only 8 players were at training, which was more noticeable than other nights. So if fans know so does board and...

Signed a new deal but no loan signings to provide adequate support up front or from midfield. TW has put his rose tinted glasses back on stating what a great team we have?

Re: Resignation...

And that is? Not Armstrong, McGurk or Hardy. TW had the balls to take it on, despite the upcoming budgets cuts that he will have been made aware of at interview. Not that it's exactly worked out for him or us, of course What I mean really about balls is that as a starting point you have to at least...

Re: Resignation...

All this talk of new managers is pointless, especially when we still have someone still in charge. All we can do is continue to back TW & AW irrespective of how poor it may seem right now. I disagree it makes perfect sense to sound out potential candidates and a younger NL or evostick manager is re...

Re: Trophy game on Friday

If I'm honest we are not going to win this trophy so here is a message to any players reading this. Go out and enjoy it, with passion like you did last time we played them, quick passing and absolutely no, and I mean no hoofing the ball (yes that's you Tez) up front or over the bloody stands. Don't ...

Re: Darlington v Hereford

And hopefully we'll not give out lengthy contracts. We used to have probationary periods at work and then permanent job offers if you were up to it?! That also goes the other way though; if you only give out short contracts and someone looks very good, at our level, chances are you lose them for ne...

I,m all for finding the next thommo in the NL but believe we need to inject some interest from Darlo kids into the crowd. We had 1300 at the weekend, not great; lets have a free darlo schools day where every primary and secondary school in Darlington and surrounding is given 25 free tickets. Then th...

Need to keep a clean sheet and have all the defence alert right from start of game & getting some clean tackles in. Trotman & O'Hanlon good getting forward but need to improve marking men tighter. Re: FC United V Darlington match thread

Having now seen the highlights, I've changed me mind on the refereeing. I think the one I thought he got wrong he got right and the twomhe got right he got wrong. The penalty shout looks like it might have been a pen, but it was given as a dive, the first red looks like the ref got it right, it was...

Re: FC United V Darlington match thread

I would prefer to see Saunders up front with Syers as opposed to Ainge who frankly has not recently even justified his place on the bench. We can then play quick passing to feet we saw against Telford and maybe yes maybe, with most of the team wanting and trying to win the second balls that fly arou...

Yes onewayup, the players.......... I mean, what is going on with them? Or some of them. Re: Styche and Ainge

For me keep the same eleven, Saunders pace kept most of the Telford back four hemmed in they were worried leaving space for Syers who has to start, Styche is not going to worry a defender for pace it is not his game of power and skill. He can come on off the bench along with Ainge (if fit) which is ...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton Match Thread

Yep, I don’t think DJ would make any rash decisions either - as a club we need stability. TW deserves a fair few more games yet IMO, we’re not even in a position to even consider replacing TW so early in the season because things aren’t going our way. I still think there’s a lot more to come from t...

Re: Ashton United on Monday

Draw was a fair result, Very happy with Syers and Nicholson performances, however Saunders on left wing did not work for me, he continually kept looking at bench for help. Ohanlon who is highly rated by TW was poor defending rarely stopping a cross or making a tackle until last minute. Trotman had a...

Cannot believe it is over 20 years since we got £500k for him and Paul Robinson that must be equivalent to over a £1million now. My God the club could do with another Kenny Dalglish coming in to buy someone now.

Re: Halifax v Darlington Match Thread

spot on fat cat, wanting a challenger to jameson in goal is not a knife in the back but a tactical request. We have been patient with him last two seasons, let him take a break and hopefully he can come back kicking better, positioning himself better and being more vocal with the back four.
