Re: Southport Highlights
Some refs give fouls for some pushing and nudging in the back and some don't. But to me if you're a ref that does give it, then you have to give it all game and for both teams [/quote] Have to agree it is the bloody inconsistency by referees at Curzon it was free kick after free kick "if you shouted...

Re: Gateshead game...
Before the game I was happy with a draw and at the end thankful. Their centre forward caused all sorts of problems, Trotman had his worst game(hope the injury is not serious) and only Liddle shone at the back . Hatfield is still having to help in defence and has little opportunity to get forward. Ho...

That is why we support our team thru thick and thicker . As I drive back to Salford tonight I know I will be singing if we won and muttering if we loose but one things for certain I'll be back at BM on Saturday, but enjoying the shorter trip to Curzon on Monday

Highlights are up now at https://youtu.be/FvnDjRLaGnw Apologies for the lack of commentary. DFR had some issues and we we're missing 20 minutes at the start. I'm going to waffle a bit here... Its the same daft rules sadly as previous seasons. I've banged the drum, along with other folks doing a sim...

Re: Four signings confirmed
Donawa, Heaton, Bell and Omar all signed up, we’re just awaiting international and FA clearance. Well done Alun! Excellent pre season recruitment that has left us with a solid 20 man squad on a lower budget than TW’s! And Glover gone left by mutual consent. Shame that TW and AW could not dev...

Re: David Johnson's interview
We have to make two important decisions this season, remain at BM or move to Sporting Village and secondly move to a semi pro team? If we can achieve a half decent season then the second one is easier to achieve, the former I'm not too sure. Interesting that some of Darlingtons big employers will be...

Fingers crossed he gets a few goals in the friendlies to boost his confidence before facing another diminutive striker not deemed good enough at Darlo when we play Farsley.

Going to be a tough game they have hasd several preseason games already & scored 7 past Gretna on Tuesday, no Ryan Bowman this time but see they have Andy Coles son Devante on loan and half a dozen new signings and trialists hoping to impress. I would be happy with a draw and no injuries

Eddie Rowles used to do painting and decorating in his spare time, he lived in Hurworth and his wife Brenda worked for me as an accounts assistant. He was settled and thought we had the makings of a good side but she was homesick and mainly the reason he signed for Colchester. Well done AW in off loading the lump who was not a team player, had no interest in Darlington Fc, the fans or the community. Sorry we are still paying part of his salary despite he knows we are a fan owned club where his money comes from raffles, 50/50 draws and volunteer pockets but doesn't give a ...

Big gamble on this young lad hasn't scored more league goals in his whole carer than Nicholson scored last season (11). Does the club not have medical insurance thru the PFA? if not it maybe something that could be funded by the BTB fund these are out assets and it is upto the fans to protect the assets just like the stands, floodlights etc from fire.

Re: Signings
In our last away game at Guisely, Ainge looked bored and out of sorts - he was just going through the motions, but not very well. In fact the situation that day reminded me of the final games of Andy Crosby back in 98, a good player who wanted away and quite simply couldn’t be arsed. The game that ...

I was walking my imaginary dog here in Manchester and happened to observe David Hodgson in his car with Kenny Dalglish, Jurgen Kloop dropping Jordan Henderson off at Blackwell Meadows for the Darlington player manager role, I do believe I saw a tear in Jurgens eye and Hodgy laughing his head off. I ...

As for the phoenix club, it wont be a phoenix until the current gateshead is liquidated. I suspect this is another evil plan to limp the club on as long as possible to be auckward to hamper a phoenix club. Apart from marketing issues a new club would have to start lower than a phoenix like the newl...

Absolutely no rush to sign anyone. I am sure that lessons have been learned in appointing former players and I believe we will get a strong field of candidates despite our limited resources at present. There are exciting opportunities ahead at BM or the SV and a good mix of signings and loanees & wi...

Re: Alun Armstrong on his way out of Blyth?
Flip it the other way, a New manager is given a budget and has a reasonable attendance which players enjoy instead of 100 fans, reasonable training facilities, good commercial manager, so steady start next season & if we have a cup run(I know unlikely) our attendances increase then you get additiona...

Favourite game Darlo v Marathon Bet Legends as I managed to get 20 minutes on the pitch and someone thought I was Billy Bragg Grade E Long periods of despair as TW trotted out " we are a good team " so many times eventually the players stopped believing. We strengthened the management team but netca...
