On the plus side at least we still exist in nearly 80 years time. Wonder how we celebrated our 200 year anniversary in 2083 ?
You mean our 100th birthday in 2112? ;)

Re: Season VOIDED

If we could get this season over by the end of September, then get 20-21 Season underway about the end of October/early November, for a shortened season split every division into 2 groups from the EPL, EFL down to non-League, teams in each group play each other twice and the top of each group would...

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

It is still my view that this season will finish. To me you can't have a season that doesn't conclude as there is too much riding on it for everyone, and you simply can not have any kind of Statty type formula which is fair. Football at some point will recommence and when it does finishing this pre...

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

Like I have said on another thread let's finish this season at the start of next season - and then split the league in two just for next season regionalising the two halves if possible which would cut costs. With a one off league cup competition maybe split into four groups of six to subsidize the ...

We did knock the poolies out on the way through, Gary Strodder's own goal at Feethams will live long in the memory!

Can anyone here point me towards where I might find the whole match online? Or is there a DVD available? Danke. Unfortunately not. However I can direct you towards a link for the 2000 play off final, whole match and all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nq9tNL2Q3g&t=411s Hard to believe this was 20...

Rishi Sunak says he will pay a grant to enable the club to cover 80% of wages where we are unable to operate due to Covid19 to avoid laying off workers. Deferring VAT until June which will help too. Will still be a struggle to keep the club together, but we can do it. He didn't say any such thing.

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

I think a lot of clubs will be mortally damaged by these turn of events. We will survive & be in a lot better financial position than many clubs around us. Therefore our position will be strengthened. Again, out of interest, how so? Given we are in the same situation as these other clubs what makes...

I think we could emerge from this Coronavirus disaster in a much stronger position than the vast majority of non-league sides & some current professional sides as well.
How so?

I’ve been reading stuff which basically states that when the time is right, finishing this season will be the priority - ie if football kicks off again in mid July, all final games in all leagues will take place and if the following season has to be shortened or delayed then so be it. Nobody knows....

Rugby club must be very worried about their revenue stream & in a way Covid19 could do us a favour if they went into administration.
I'm sure there'd be a few property developers rubbing their hands together at that prospect.

All I can recall of that day now is the grey skies... Maybe it was a sign of things to come? I remember telling myself not to look back as I walked out after the match, so what did I go and do? Hope we can spoil their farewell to Bootham Crescent party & nick the points. Would be a great place for Thommo to get that elusive 100th goal, but perhaps he is saving that for Spenny. We played Villa away in the FA Cup after being drawn back in as the "lucky losers" in the second round following Man Utd's withdrawl to take part in the World Club Championship's in Brazil. Confirmed it won't be at their new ground. They'll move sometime in the new year after test events have taken place. If you saw York v Altrincham on the FA Cup this afternoon, most of the away end was sectioned off and only 300 places for the away end. Wonder if parts of it have been condemned like...

If we do end back at the Arena it would be great if we could put safe standing behind both goals, not sure how much it would cost but could appeal to those who like to stand particularly the tin shed fans. But I would never rule out a return to the Arena. DMP are in financial trouble and I could see us returning as tenants or if DMP go bust, I could see us returning as owners sometime in the future.
