Re: Kendal Match Thread

How does this happen? Andrew Johnson, Nathan Fisher and now Nathan Cartman. For what it is worth Cartman has looked good since he joined he links play well and whilst he might have only scored once but how many assists has he had? MG has a bit of responsibility though to keep him away from social m...

Re: Kendal Match Thread

Is it just me or is Cartman turning out to be a bit of a Lemon? Had a call from someone at the game today who said his open goal miss today was as bad as any he'd seen before. Only seen him play twice but he just seems a bit s*** to me Wow! :o  The last line of his post says it all. "Only se...

Re: AFC Fylde and other minted clubs

I've been reading some stuff about Fylde. Geographically they are situated somewhere near Barrow - and in footballing terms they are near Barrow too, sitting at present, second to them in the Conference North. Fylde have a chairman who has two important things - A) oodles of money - B) A plan - to ...

Re: Tonight's game

Mitchell was caught flat footed at the end of the day, a right backs job is to prevent those goals really. It wasn't a punt it was a cross-field pass at the end of the day (seems that anything that goes in the air these days is called a punt). I think Gray thought he could get away with resting Arm...

Re: T-shirts players have on warming up

Does anyone know if the club will be selling the t shirts the players are wearing to warm up in Darlington heading home t shirts ? I see from the article on the club website that Screentech have provided these as part of sponsorship for Heading Home and good for them. There are no details about whe...

Re: Fantastic support today.

Easy. Pay your non-VAT costs in cash. Especially the likes of stewards/security and players who would otherwise cost pesky NI. I didn't go through a turnstile so I know there was no way of counting me in. There is always the 'other' theory. A turnstile operator who walked away with heavy pockets......

Re: Fantastic support today.

1st away game I've gone to this season and all I can say is if they think there were only 902 in that ground then they need to pop down specsavers. As for 600 away fans there must have been that alone on the far side opposite the main stand in that shed and on the banking. I agree crowd seemed "und...

Re: Weekend

Darlogramps My point was I believed there should be clearer communications from both clubs before last weeks game (bearing in mind previous postponements) it wasn't just pointed at us. I didn't say anything I have not already emailed the club (Darlo) about previously. if you are satisfied with the o...

Re: Salford weather update

TDS what "isn't helpful" is that we don't seem to have learnt anything following the recent late postponements. If the game is in any doubt would it not be best to alert fans so we can check for more info before we set off?

Re: Darlington Rugby Club restructures

This presumably means they do not, or now cannot, pay their players? If so they clearly lack any ambition to move up the Rugby league structure. Mowden Park pay all their players (who play) maybe DRC have decided they just cannot compete with their cousins down the road, but they do seem to have bur...

Re: Blackwell Meadows planning application submitted

I am not being awkward but the statement below is a bit of an exaggeration as it suggests the future of the town also depends on the success of this joint venture? I can see a few people opposed to this having a bit of a laugh. Overall though great to see progress, well done to all concerned. "Both ...

He's either very very stupid or got a great sense of humour..............Tweeting he's looking forward to scoring goals for fun in League 2? I don't care if he fell out with Cooper or whatever, we paid him good money and his attitude was wrong in my view!

I'd be feeling even more positive if the "artists impression" on the Homepage featured a football rather than a rugby pitch! But I accept it is a joint application and the rugby club are probably in the box seat?

Arthur Wharton statue unvieled

This was a main item on the ITV news at lunchtime with a live link to a reporter at St George's Park. Whilst it may not interest many on here, was disappointed that ITV mentioned the clubs he played for but did not mention Darlington! Guess we are used to that by now eh Shaun?

Burscough advise no parking at the ground but ok to park in the nearby Tesco car park. I shop there and just to let you know it is not that big and gets very busy on a Saturday so don't just expect to rock up and park like the one at HP. You have been warned!
