Re: National League Stadia

sometimes i dont get our obsession with having our own ground. We dont fill blakcwell meadows We never owened feethams Cant we just get on with what we have and let the board do their bit in the background if there is an alternative. If not, we are in Darlo and we embrace/improve what we have. A sta...

Re: Darlington V Southport match thread

i think our side is too lightweight in the middle. Next season im hoping we go for something a little more physical in the middle. Will be a key year for Tommy next year ... his signings havent worked out as planned this year. Ainge - knackered - immobile and unfit Hughes - cant play in midfield whe...

Re: ''Donation” scheme

why would the club pay it back?

Surely the DFCSG is not for profit organisation so all fundraising is passed to the club?

Elliot Nicholson and Palmer have no physical presence, like three school kids. Need a big strong arhletic player in the middle.

Re: ''Donation” scheme

Im sure the club will work on all of this and sort it out. Maybe the DFCSG will issue a statement about the new membership prices, the general donation pot and the future of the fundraising efforts..

Re: New Finance Director

The £300k isnt really a debt if its the DFCSG, they will never call it in unless some chancer comes hoping to buy a football club, move it to a new site and then build houses on it if the club,, which they dont really care about, goes bust. That £300k doesnt worry me, its the wage bill versus the in...

Re: Post AGM update.

i had an idea ........ could people donate to the DFCSG the amount equal to a season ticket in return for a gold card which allows free access to match in recognition of their fund raising efforts.

Would save on the VAT as mentioned on here before.

hopefully our new Finance Director has this issue of spending future income to plug gaps at the forefront of his mind. It has to stop.

If we can shift the high earners who aren’t contributing then maybe we can get Smith and have some change. I’m thinking Burn and Ainge ... I’m presuming they are high earners.

Re: 2 New Signings Today

Next league up is super hard to get out of and even survive in financially.

Would our gates rise to 2,000 and our sponsorships increase to offset the extra wages and travel??

Re: New Finance Director

I’m sure he’s not daft and understands the issues around the ground etc. If he decides that we need to operate within our means and rely on gate receipts and commercial income then we have to accept that is the state of the club. Any extra fan donations go straight into the playing budget. I’m more ...

Re: New Finance Director

It will be interesting to see what he comes up with and how the club is operated going forward.

Will it be operated based on not losing money at the expense of the playing side or will there be some consideration to the fans to deliver what we are all after ... entertaining football.
