Re: New Manager Interviews this week

Think I would go for Ben Clark and Ian Watson, they built a great team spirit at Gateshead when they had a lot going against them. Feedback I have seen on the web from the heed players is that they were good at there job, may entice a few of the good young heed players. Plus I understand Ian W has b...

Re: Boost The Budget 19/20

Done mine this morning, if we can get the same 400+ fans from last year to contribute then target should be hit, excellent start when most fans may not have yet heard the new btb has started.

Re: Players Awards

First year they did have dinner suits at Rockcliffe, next year I turned up in dinner suit (i have only ever had one and it was cheaper than a suit), with a mate at the kings head and we were virtually the only ones, others in normal suits / smart casual. Last year I would say most men were in trouse...

Would think that Watson at York will get first call on Heed players he wants. But would have no problems with there management duo arriving.

Re: Leyton Orient

Been to Orient a few times, mostly to watch Darlo but last year meeting up with friends who are orient fans. Their supporters bar was excellent, paid a £1 to get in, all run by volunteers so bar closed 15 mins before start of game so they could watch the game. Large range of hand pulled beers, place...

Re: Darlington V Leamington

Fans on here assume that the majority wanted Tommy to leave, and that may be true but I thought given the feedback on the forum I was one of a small minority who would have liked to see him given another year, so we had some continuity and build on the finances, but was surprised while walking out t...

Re: Time for Gray to finish the job.....

After the first year he struggled in this league, and when given the chance in the league with a full time team and finances to bring players in could not deliver. Also he has his own academy so a future loss for us? We have a lot to thank Martin for but for me he is not the man to move us on, finan...

Re: Wright has left the building

I personally would have liked to see him given another year, but understand the decision. We have a substantial number of fans who have wanted him out for some time and I assume they will be substantially backing the btb for next year, for without that the next manager will have his hands tied. Just...

Re: Darlington V Leamington

My mate is bringing a couple of the family to the game, one a first timer and the other the very odd time visiter, but they have never seen us lose so may be a good omen. May even go in the tin shed to sing myself. Just need to enjoy the last game. We have fair few who just want the season to end, b...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

To be honest with you that has been my thinking too, that he has trusted the players and tried to be one of the boys, and to be honest quite a few through the season have let him down, and he seriously does need to learn from that. You have between TW and AW polar opposites with Tommy defending play...

Re: Favourite game + season grading

Telford game for me, followed by York. Grading difficult and may go for an overall B-, not so much for the football but for the progress made off the field, with the academy, finances starting to get in order, commercially, with full time employee and the board strengthened. With the club looking li...

Re: Fitness levels

I agree to, I thought with AW we would have had a team fit and a lot of strength building but we seem to have a team that is physically and mentally weak, then you realise that they most probibly have two hours twice a week, (and sometimes once a week if there is a mid week game or personal issues),...

Re: Darlo -Diary .We need significant change.

I agree, we are possibly well down the list locally for tallent and need to be able to attract those that are not only intrested in money which is going to be difficult, but will be on areas like development and opportunities for advancement to clubs higher up the league, Jamie hardy academy and Eng...

Re: Guiseley match thread

A poor game, by two poor teams, with one actually wanting it more - a great pity given the great number of fans that turned up. Yet again when we come up against a big physical side, our players just can't compete and were easily bullied off the ball, but worse today we looked like a team going for ...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

If the club decides to change managers that is ok with me, and will live with whatever the decision is, but personally I would just love to see some continuity in the club, we can't afford to go up this year or next year. We need to go for organic growth where the cub can move ahead as we can afford...

Re: Blyth...

Blyth made a lot of money out of the cup run the other year which gave them substantial amount. Money, that then starts to run out so may well be 're assessing what they can afford. Nice little ground and reasonable support and able to draw on a large area on Tyneside for tallent. As wthl us a promo...

Re: Trotman extends contract

I seem to remember that DJ mentioned that they had a couple of offers for Luke but had turned them down. I think this was after Styche and Syers had left so assume the club are valuing him as an assett whose value will increase, which seems certainly posible, having had great game for England C.

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

Harry, I agree with you, for this league Maddison is not one we can blame and I think deserves another chance. The fans got on jamersons back and his confidence went, him then making a lot of mistakes, he goes to Blyth and the few games I have seen him he has played well. We have some fans who forge...

Re: Next season

We need to be careful of what we wish for, while personally happy to go with whatever the board decide re management, we can't guarantee a new manager would be any better given the financial position we have. While the results and problems on field have depressed a fair few of our fans, we have stay...

Re: Sporting Village

From memory (which is not good to be honest), the offer was for land and floodlights to be provided, and I assume we would need to develop that over a few years therefore would potentially have to play at the arena for a few seasons while raising money? Clearly we have people in charge who are looki...
