Re: AGM

Just a quick feedback for those interested:- Some really good work being done in the background about the future options for the club, with still a lot of background / financial areas to look at before they are able to come to the fans with a full proposals regarding our options but clearly we are i...

Re: Curzon V Darlington

I am looking forward to this as well, Curzon had some good results lately, and we are playing some good football, although struggling to score a little bit but creating chances. Fancy a good result out of this, a nice pint of beer and hopefully a good pie at the ground to make it an excellent day ou...

Re: AGM

Think the minimum shares you could buy was 100 at the time (but I have been wrong before of course :) ). Looking forward to attending the AGM as we have made progress off the field so hoping to hear the forecast how we stand financially for this year end, ( accounts were for last year so comparison ...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Gramps, I never said we could compete with the teams above, I was talking about Hartlepool, who are not doing that well. I also pointed out those names were in the team that the Hartlepool fans on the bunker were mentioning for there team this Saturday, not mine, that is all, as I also mentioned I h...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

There were a few people near me at the match who were saying that the team Hartlepool played against us were second string or youth, and I had no idea to be honest, so checked line up on the video today. Also on the Poolie bunker I looked to see what a couple of there fans were wanting on the team s...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

I enjoyed the game, although disappointed in the 2 goals we gave away. We missed some sitters I thought, Saunders is now getting in some excellent positions, just needs to be more composed in front of the goal instead of head down and just hit it and he will get some goals will that boy. Thought Ain...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Fully agree with Harry C. Thought Wheatley had a great game and Elliott put in a workman like performance. Saunders was given no service and not played to his strengths. Fair call on Spennymoor too as there chairman Brad is a great supporter of his club and backed it with money, (which he has a fair...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Thought we played well, played some nice football, and we were strong in defence, neither team created many chances (although in the second half we did have a few saved by there keeper where Maddison did not have one to save from open play). We matched a team that is 4th in the league and second hig...

Re: Alfreton away

Couldn't make the game on Saturday as commitment to afternoon booze up / meal with a group of friends from Newcastle, Hartlepool, Leeds and York, (clearly I am not committed to the cause when beer is on offer ;) ). So just watched the highlights and there was some excellent movement off the ball, gu...

Re: Liam Hughes

Has been excellent since he moved to centre half and clearly a great character, he must have played in some serious pain in the last few games with his shoulder when lesser players would have sat the games out in recovery. All the best Liam and hope to see you back in a Darlo shirt soon.

Re: Alfreton away

I go to most home and away games so don't listen often, but on the odd occasion I have listened I was quite impressed with the guy's doing commentry to be honest. Thought they did a good job and as good as some of the professional broadcasts I have heard from lower league games.

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Booked for 4 of us in hospitality for the game, all four of us really looking forward to the game. Expecting a reasonable gate and great atmosphere to be honest. Thought I would just copy a footnote from the pooly fans forum which I thought was funny and shows some of them still think about us, ( an...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Cramps- I agree that building it up as great rivalry may be a bit over the top, but commercially building it up to get people through the gate and earn money is a fantastic opportunity for a club short of funds. From various posts on this board I think people have forgot that valuable aspect, so dow...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Super Les- I would swap 3 points for a defeat in this game too but I remember the atmosphere both at feethams and the Vic so for me just a trip down memory lane, plus I hope some money for the club, (that is if people can be bothered to turn up). As for there fans and manager, my view is possibly wi...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Tuesday night is a training night for darlo so would expect the majority of the first team to be considered to play to get game time in, and can't see pools fans being happy if their youth team come and get well beaten by there "former rivals" even in this county cup game. Given pools current form I...

Re: York V Darlington

Saw Nelson nearly an hour after the game, waiting for a lift outside Bootham Crescent I assume, he was limping then. Hope he is able to recover, think we will need him, Saunders and Nicholson on Saturday against Kidderminster if we are going to pull off a win. Nicholson providing that link up betwee...

Re: York V Darlington

See Sam Collins has told BBC York that he has told his players to ram it down our throats, (three times he said it), Hope TW and AW heard the interview and played it to our players so we go all out to prove it was not a flash in the pan.

real_darlo_85, I note your point re the serious errors by the board and management and am sure you are not having a pop at them individually, but errors have been the case since we started from administration, from the Shildon original move, spending money we didn't have, seats bought for Bishop Auc...

Re: Sat 29th Dec - Ashton United (Home)

I thought Hughes was immense yesterday, and mentioned during the game to a friend that he was MoM for me, but can see why Nelson was picked too, with 2 excellent goals and some fantastic skills to get past players. Think sometimes we may forget that our guys are part time, and with 2 hard games prev...

Re: TW,s tactical nous!

I must admit I am still a bit of a fan wanting TW to do well, but was confused by the subs, with neither Tommo or Henshall defensive minded or midfielders, although Ashton never really looked threatening even though they had lots of possession, Henshall with very little game time this year and Tommo...

Thought he had a chance to go to Middlesbrough or St Mirren and chose what he thought would be first team football but lower transfer fee for us. Although a few, (or more than a few to be honest ;) ),have had reservations re TW, (and with some reason with the results), but you can't doubt his capability of identifying loans. Some excellent boys there and the rest of the team needed that lift of positivity new capable young people bring, who a...
