Re: Kidderminster Saturday October 10th

In the next 12 games we only have two that I would say were as tough as our first two games, Brackley and Spennymoor away. We al know that AA's sides are streaky so don't be suprised if we put a good winnng run together. It has been a very tough start and we do seem under-prepared in terms of fitnes...

Re: Ground share

It's a good job we aren't going to be paying the running costs of the Arena then isn't it? I'm sure Wembley is expensie to run but we aren't running that either. Not sure what this has got to do with the idea of playing games at someone's elses ground, i.e. DMPRC.

Re: October

If it is the seating which needs social distancing, then for an average gate of 1500 we would need a stadium that could seat 15000. Now can anyone think of somewhere that big yet still in the town? Purely rhetorical & no need to answer that one - George Reynolds was years ahead in his thinking. I'd...

A potential October opening is with social distancing, so I'm not sure how we can make it pay even then Really? I didn't realise that. In that case I can't see non-league resuming. Well to be fair, the BBC are quoting 'Social distancing must be observed in seating arrangements', but I can't see sta...

I m hoping that non league can start earlier than that with restrictions in place. We have plenty of space, it Is not as if we are in an enclosed stadium.
Or at least we'd have severly reduced income, as would all clubs, makes no sense to start until you can make it pay.

We would we want to start earlier, we'd have no income from paying spectators?

Re: One chairman's view

We can’t be in this holding pattern indefinitely. And that’s just one example. It’s what the Governnment is weighing up right now. How do you keep businesses and industries going, knowing full well more people are likely to die if you loosen restrictions. Thats what annoys me when people demand ans...

Re: One chairman's view

It would be interesting to know the risk of death from coronvirus of a fit, healthy man in his 20s with no underlying health conditions, and the risk of serious head injury for the same player. You can't of course transmit head injuries to vulnerable or elderly friends and relatives who are at a hi...

Re: One chairman's view

You can't play football without risk, players are at risk of dementia everytime they head they ball, and career ending injuries everytime they step onto the pitch. Yes, but there is now a real risk that they could catch or transmit a deadly virus, are you happy for Darlo to play a Russian Roulette ...

Re: One chairman's view

Not quite sure when the chairman of Boreham Wood ever expects to play football again. The risk to players will never be gone. If, and that's a big if, we have a vaccine, that will go to the elderly and vulnerable first, just like the flu jab. You can't play football without risk, players are at risk...

Re: Hatfield & Wheatley

I reckon Wheatley will go but good if we can keep Hatfield. With an expected drop in playing budget AA will have to do some serious wheeling and dealing in the summer. Why would there be an expected drop in playing budget? With the end of the 500 club for many season ticket holders our projected in...

The biggest worry if we do get promoted is the ground situation. If we get up and the players we can afford aren't enough to stay in the league then c'est la vie. However, can we find the cash to get BM up to conference national standard in time? And thats if we even want to spend that cash at BM -...

Red seats was always the wrong colour for us, why did George go for red, was it when he wanted to change the shirts to red and white stripes? It looks like the seats are almost completely bleached now anyway, so if we do go back to the Arena we might finally have white seats.

Mystified by complaints about the pitch to be honest. You won't find a much better one at this level. It looks in absolutely fine condition?! It's a bit of an error by Connell for me, i'm a little bit confused by what he's actually doing for the goal. Weird how things can turn around for a player, ...

But how much financially would we stand to lose by shipping out of B.Meadows early? It's all very well making more on extras at The Arena, but what about the assets we leave behind - the Tinshed and side stand, they have a value and they cost us a lot to set up. How many years of extra income at Th...

That figure for our 7th place conference campaign says it all. 1,800 overall, and i've just looked at our highest league attendance that year... It was 3,000 against York. We literally could have fit our highest attendance that year in Blackwell Meadows as it stands. We do not need to occupy a stad...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

I'm taking about those games that are above the average, If you get an average of 1886 then most gates will be below 1886 and a small number of big gates will boost it. i.e. its a long tailed distribution. You lose that with a small capacity. Remember in most seasons we'll get the odd gate of 6,000 ...

The thing I don't understand with this sporting village nonsense is why exactly we have to go and play at the Arena in the meantime, while we develop this mythical ground next to it. To me, it's unachievable to build this stadium, and I am becoming a little suspicious that there is a little dishone...

It is a fixed amount - for the fixed games. Sounds more like an AirBnB arrangement than a tenancy. It’s not a tenancy, it’s a license to use the facility for a set number of days during set times. If it was a tenancy we’d have certain rights. I see, I wasn't aware of that. No wonder DJ wants to neg...

We will be lucky to get 800. However 800 * 8 (likely to be average of 8 with concessions/children = £6,400 (Remove VAT gets you to approx. £5,340. £5,340 - Rent (Lets say £1,500) down to £3,840. Then remove any costs for security if we need it, say £500 so £3,340. Coach cost for Solihull £800 leave...
