Re: New signing

The discussion about Nicky Hunt reminds me of Mick Tate. He joined Darlo in 1990 after we'd secured promotion back to the Football League from the Conference. Tate was 34 and had played nearly 550 matches in the FL, the vast majority in the 2nd tier. He then was a massive influence in getting us pr...

Thanks Ray loved those four pieces on Alan's career, hadn't realised he got 97 goals in 3 years at Bristol City, was in league cup semi final and known in Bristol for his stepover "the Walshy shuffle" and hope we can get another chance to have a chat with him during a home game next season. Re: The Close Season drags onwards, and onwards, and onwards, and onwards..

Barrow deserve to go up, but then again I always had a soft spot for them after the support they gave us during "our troubles". Great to be going down to York next season, presumably to their new ground and also another trip to Blyth & Spenny. Pretty tough on South Shields to miss out on promotion ...

Joe Tait, Bradley Fewster, Chris Dickinson, Ryan Brobbel and Peter Jameson would be a few to add to the list.

There's 45ish transfers between the clubs listed on that web site, plus these ones, plus the four me and my mate came up with. That's a lot of traffic, admittedly over 70+ years.

He was just before demotion according to the web site I referred to. Doesn't say where he ended up.

Players moving from DFC to YCFC (and vice-versa)

Here's one for the club historians (or those with excellent memories). There's a long history of players moving from YCFC to DFC (and vice-versa). Pre-2010 they're easy to find (on the http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/index.html site for one) but my York-supporting mate and I have been trying ...

I remember playing a night game at Crewe when we won promotion & I'm sure it was an evening game. I got the train down with loads of others. The National League is going to hold a vote on whether to hold any more fixtures this season. The league themselves are advising clubs to vote in favour (I.E. we wouldn’t play again in the 19/20 season). Should that vote be passed, there’ll then be a follow-up on vote on several options for how the...
