Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
I've just got back from taking my little lad to Herlingshaw (I live down this way). There were about 30/40 kids there, year 1... they had about the same in the previous two sessions for reception and nursery at a fiver per child. At all age groups as well, he trains twice a week and plays matches......

I take it they don't have an annual fan vote on the away kit like we do.... or given it's Hartlepool, I'm actually thinking they must do

Re: Ground share
I think that DMP and any other parties should consider keeping the main stand which incorporates all the facilities ie Bars , boxes , changing etc and modify the other 3 sides to achieve a manageable stadium with a reduced capacity that would still generate non match day income .. What does that st...

Re: Ground share
Given the state of play globally, I wonder if the FA will significantly relax the ground requirements for promotion?! Perhaps even look to suspend many of them... clubs can not afford to be undertaking developments to their grounds they don’t need just to play in a league above...

That Richard Upshall bloke who tried to build a sporting village at BM must be wondering what he did wrong. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/13897893.20m-plan-to-bring-darlington-fc-home-is-rejected-by-darlington-borough-council/ Frankly I'd rather we'd got into bed with Upshall than the coun...

Re: National League Stadia
It’s a league ruling Only applies to teams in the Premiership though, unless you know otherwise. It doesn't even do that anymore, there's no rule on Primacy of tenure in the Premiership... hasn't been since about 2012. They simply need to demonstrate that they are able to provide a venue on dates s...

Re: National League Stadia
As part of the deal the Arena will no longer be owned by DMPRFC. Ownership will be transferred to a stadium management company (of which I imagine DMPRFC will have some representation) the running costs and upkeep of then supported by the various activities and rent that would be planned as part of...

Re: AGM
And didn't it take off! Is the rumour that swimming has been involved true?! Yes it's true. It was back in 1988. They ran into the sea to escape Swansea fans, who then proceeded to pelt them with pebbles, meaning they had to swim out further to escape the stones... if you do a search online y...

Re: AGM
Swans, they even had American football there in 86! It was rough in the Tote End, I remember them removing police helmets and throwing lit newspaper around. Mind you it wasn't all fun at Ashton Gate, I remember when Cardiff came in the home end. Heady days. Back in the day the Racecourse at Wrexham...

Re: AGM
That reminded me of years spent near Bristol. We'd do City or Rovers. Eastville was home to speedway and greyhound racing, hence the Tote End. They had flowerbeds behind the goal! And now they play at a rugby ground. And ironically the Rugby team have left... they're at Ashton Gate. And it looks mo...

Purely hypothetically, how much extra would we be looking at to buy our own plot of land somewhere in the town?! Non starter there just isn’t the land, I think club once looked at Eastbourne but now with increased housing there’s no way a ground will be given permission. In fact with SV going ahead...

every win buys him 8 terrible defeats... if they didn't sack him after Nuneaton, they're not going to sack him at all... we're stuck with the idiot... we just have to pray there are three teams even worse than us.... given we lost to the supposed worst team, at home, I'm not confident... As much as we have our financial limitations, I do wonder how bad things have to get before the board reaches breaking point with TW. every win buys him 8 terrible defeats... if they didn't sack him after Nuneaton, they're not going to sack him at all... we're stuck with the idiot... we just have t...

First visit since 2003. What a dump it is now. Clearly there's going to be a minimum of maintenance when it's due for the chop. If they weren't moving it would be desperate for an upgrade. It makes me realise how lucky we were to get the fantastic new stand at Feethams, in it's prime town centre lo...

Re: Darlington v Hartlepool United
I don't understand how anyone can be anything but excited about this, growing up following the Swans, if we played Cardiff in the Welsh Cup it would be a sellout and absolute mayhem... I remember going to Barry Town in the Welsh Cup, it's just south of Cardiff and they all turned up, we weren't even...

Also - do most appointments "not work out"? That's a hell of an assumption to be making without backing it up. Weren't we supposed to have multiple additions *last week*. The final training session before the weekend will be today, and we still don't have anyone else involved. Re: Gamble?
It's pretty clear that Styche and Syers have been moved on to pay for the new Commercial Manager. Whilst it seems sensible on paper, it's a huge gamble: Losing these two players may be what costs us our place in the NLN, with the attendant reduced income from lower crowds and (no doubt) lower admis...

Yes, let's just ignore the fact that we have won 2 in the last 16 games at BM and lost hundreds of fans with the potential to lose even more, let's ignore that TW has clearly lost the confidence of the overwhelming majority of fans and that he now has a winning ratio this season of 19% and that the...

I heard on the grapevine that Northumbrian Water aren't adverse to building over the pipe as long as its encased in a void so they can get access should the worst happen. This might make it more viable to develop BM although you would still have the rugby run off a few people don't like. I know its...

Re: Arena Sports Village
Darlington Council are having a planning meeting Tuesday 5pm and the Sporting Village is on the agenda to be discussed, so may be some indication of progress then. It’s a good job the news is full of stories about how flush with cash northern councils are I suppose... Do we really think that there ...
