Re: FA cup game to be played at BM

I am slightly miffed that I note the club anticipate & expect me to again let the club keep my new season ticket money in return for Quaker TV package on a FA Cup closed doors tie on Saturday. I don't see how that is free Old Git? the club should be asking season ticket holders if we are okay with ...

Re: FA cup game to be played at BM

Some clarity on what is happening at least for this week. It will be at Blackwell as no surprise to read the Arena pitch not ready. Hoping that Quaker TV will be able to screen the game at a cost of £7.99. Worry now is that this will be the norm for the foreseeable future. How viable it is we will ...

According to the FA, playing in front of fans may be possible; this was the comment below the draw: "Following recent Government announcements, we are currently working with Government on arrangements for Emirates FA Cup ties (including spectators). We will hopefully be able to provide an update to...

Re: SEASON POSTPONED?

I have been to many northern league grounds over last month, with 300 max crowds, I suspect a few games the official attendance of 300 a little over although not at West Auckland last night. Apart from taking your name and a small bottle of sanitizer available I see no distancing or controls inside ...

I have cancelled my annual subscription to Northern Echo,it is mostly copy & paste from tv,radio and company websites sad day when the local newspaper can't get a reporter to the local teams games. Scott Wilson doesn't even credit Ray Simpson or Kev for content provided.

Phil Brumwell interviews

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f7tfMgRkxE&feature=youtu.be Well it may have more parts than game of thrones but the last episode is fantastic, a player who was thoroughly Darlo thru and thru, loved the club even when he played against us and it gave me goosebumps. Well done Ray I've enjoyed these ...

BBC News - Fans attending sporting events in England from October to be reviewed, says Prime Minister https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54094363 I think politics is very relevant to us. My thanks go out to DJ, board members, volunteers who have worked very hard to get this on and thanks to both rugby clubs having sensible discussions and outcomes. Possible season ticket holders used for test games, home draw for FA cup would be great .

Re: Bury FC fan - in need of some advice

You have a ground to share and play on, you have a manager who is hopefully putting a team together and most importantly fans who will volunteer; fans who cannot attend many matches but wish to support from afar. Based in Sunderland you are going to travel a fair bit but like Darlo in evostick when ...

If the season had resumed I believe he was one the surprises AA mentioned in his interview he expected to bring in to make the final push into the playoffs, wonder what the others were. He is not going to run around the pitch and play 40-50 games a season but hopefully will bring some organization to the Darlo defence and improve Storey and Laings game which the later definitely needed in the tackling department. I still believe in a couple of years when DJ has sold his stake in his business, as promised he will help us raise the finances to build or rent our own ground and explain the costs to fans in detail, where in Darlington that will be is anyone's guess but DBC have ample land opportunities. In the me...

Thanks Ray loved those four pieces on Alan's career, hadn't realised he got 97 goals in 3 years at Bristol City, was in league cup semi final and known in Bristol for his stepover "the Walshy shuffle" and hope we can get another chance to have a chat with him during a home game next season.

Re: Big decision for Chester fans to make.

AS DJ mentioned in his recent interview there needs to be a cap or budget limit at our level, buying your way out of the league is short term and not what the NL & FA should be promoting. They need to grip the bull by the horns and take positive action. Unfortunately we know it is not going to happe...

First game the first round Fa cup in 1972 a 1-1 draw with Wrexham at Feethams, if honest I couldn't remember score but scared and thrilled at same time in Tin Shed, was always some bother, watching later Sunderland beat Leeds in the final wishing it could have been Darlington. Re: Isle of Man to join English pyramid?

For it to work I'm assuming the IOM would have to pay the ferry / flight costs for visiting teams. It's about 3 hours on the seacat from Liverpool or a 20 minutes flight from Speke. Yep that is the understanding I think. I think there are flights from Manchester and Blackpool to the IOM also. flybe...
