Re: Craig Morley

I think it would be best for the club to end the speculation over why a man has lost his job on this public message board. It's not great for our image so lets wait for the facts and then discuss. Also, conjecturing that advertising boards are not sold and simply staying up will again create doubt a...

Re: Darlington V Solihull Moors

To be honest the direct style of play doesn't sound too different to what we used to get to our current division. There isn't one way to play football - which is why Stoddarts report seems to be a little patronising towards Solihull. From what I can pick up they did have more chances than us and fo...

Re: Gary Martin

It sill makes me shudder when I think about the wages Styche and Ainge were allegedly paid by us last season. No one knows what the players are on as it’s sensitive however the playing budget at £330k is very similar to last year under Tommy. Remember Tommy had to sell 3 times the FA Cup windfall o...

Re: Gary Martin

It certainly makes you wonder what wage he was on at Darlo? I mean you would expect £500-£600 you would have thought? More like 900 I don't really see how that would fit into our budget as we'd have blown nearly 15% on one player. Especially as it was widely reported that Hereford offered an uplift...

Here is the future in the arena

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5SgUaK7-Pk

This was with around 1600 in attendance. The thought of staring at those pale pink seats with only 6% of the arena filled is depressing.

This matter should have been resolved sometime ago, it's not like we didn't know he was joining us in January & we should have foreseen this problem before now.
Pete, I suggest you either offer your services to the club or stop with the constant moaning.

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

But how much financially would we stand to lose by shipping out of B.Meadows early? It's all very well making more on extras at The Arena, but what about the assets we leave behind - the Tinshed and side stand, they have a value and they cost us a lot to set up. How many years of extra income at Th...

I know it is nothing compared to his salary when he was playing - but Campbell is owed £180,000 from a what 9 month spell at Macclesfield.

He was contracted on (at least) £20,000 per month at Macclesfield...and that is assume he wasn't even paid anything.

Re: Leamington (A)

For me Lambert doesn’t really add a lot. Goal scorers are expensive/rare and every team wants one. AA stated after the Motherwell friendly that big lads up front are even harder to find because the trend in academies of late has been to develop smaller more mobile forwards. As for leadership in def...

Re: Leamington (A)

We don't need to find the perfect striker, but someone on loan who actually knows how to play as a striker would be a massive help. We have nobody who even knows how to play the role. Yet AA brought in Lambert. Because good big strikers cost around £900 a week. And decent loanees from our local clu...

We are one player, namely an out and out centre forward, from being a bloody good team for this level. Agreed. This season is about being patient. The next few weeks are going to be tough and I can’t see us winning again until Blyth at the end of the month. During this run just remember that we hav...

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread

I thought all of our players made a good account of themselves, we just need a bigger hold up striker to link play. The fact we could only make one substitution, which was a roll of the dice move of putting a big defender upfront in the hope of winning a few knock-downs, shows our current limitation...

I've gone back and forth on the arena vs Blackwell debate over and over again, but now I'm firmly in the anti-arena camp. Overspent versus what though? Realistic projections or actuals? If we’ve overspent the total annual budget before income from any cup run is known then I wouldn’t be happy, I don’t mind the spending of the total budget at the start of the year, rather than holding a % aside to cover mid season cost...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I’m just going off AA’s comments that he’d about maxed his budget before signing Donawa, Bell, Heaton. Maybe that was just the budget that he was allowed at that time that was maxed rather than a “reserve” budget too That's how I understood the budget situation. I'd be disappointed if we have overs...
