Re: Government Bailout for National League

Of course the money won't be distributed evenly. The NL will get the vast majority of the money, the NLN & NLS will get far less.

Re: Rugby League

Well as expected St. Helens hammered a very youthful Wigan team, but some very encouraging spirit shown by our youngsters.

Re: Government Bailout for National League

I'd be pleasantly surprised if we get any significant amount. The majority of any financial help will be taken by the National League itself. The North & South will not be impressed with what's left for clubs at our level. Still think we'll need to ask the fans to help out.

Re: FA Cup Draw

Darlington now placed on the watchlist & if other affected areas is anything to go by, we'll be in lockdown in 3 or 4 days if not sooner. I can't see how fans will be allowed to see the game. Hope I'm wrong of course, it has been known to happen before.

Re: Rugby League

I agree there is a chasm between the top4 & the rest, but as Hull KR proved on there day any side is capable of beating any other side. Wigan showed a lot of character to overcome a very resourceful Wakefield. But the scheduling of us playing St Helens on Tuesday & then Leeds in the semi final next ...

Re: Unwanted posts on here

The main MB has been flooded with spam, leaving all these types of posts on the MB, will just put off some fans wanting to read this MB. I've reported loads of spam, but they are never deleted. I realise that the moderators have a life away from here, but this issue can't be swept aside saying they ...

Re: Rugby League

Well that's the end of Castleford's season, although I can really see Huddersfield getting into the top 4. The game had a distinctly end of season game, even though it isn't the end of the season quite yet.

Very very hard to see a number of old and respected Rugby league clubs surviving the next 6 months.
Think the death nell will be chiming soon.
Sadly I think you're right. Many clubs from many sports will not survive the Coronavirus pandemic. Do you think any SL sides will not make it though?

Re: SEASON POSTPONED?

I don't expect any serious financial help from the Government. They don't have any spare cash to throw our way, especially after the effect Coronavirus on the countries finances. Apparently around 100 sports are pleading with cash to survive & they no doubt all think they are a special case. So if a...

Re: SEASON POSTPONED?

I think saying the season is postponed is a bit dramatic, I do realise that you put a question mark in the subject matter. Obviously things are changing very quickly & it's impossible to predict what'll happen in a week or two, let alone a month or two. I do think that things will only improve slowl...

Re: Latest friendly

All test events with crowds involved are almost certainly being ended, so the postponement of the season starting is almost inevitable. Very bad news for many clubs up & down the country.

Any news coming from the club friendlies, interviews, player fitness updates. Nothing like keeping supporters engaged. As far as I'm concerned the most important piece of news we are waiting for is from the government regarding crowds, there must surely be an announcement soon with only a fortnight...

Re: Rugby League

We aim to please!! Awesome display by Wigan, as we dominate Hull & we must fancy our chances in the semi-final against Hull. The worrying thing for the rest of the SL, is the continuous production of young players from the youth ranks. Bevan French has pace to burn & has to be the speediest player i...

Re: Rugby League

Watched some of Hull KR's game against Leeds. Thought you were unlucky with the first Leeds try, as it looked to me like your player had the ball stripped by the Leeds player, in the lead up to the try. After that Hull KR just seemed to capitulate. You shared the second half, but given the damage th...

Re: Rugby League

I didn't know about Brad Singleton joining us, so thanks for the heads up. With the exception of Brad Singleton, most of the Toronto players signing for other SL sides, have just signed to the end of this season, so I'd expect them to return to Toronto at the end of the season. Hull KR are flying up...

Cheers OG. It's a worry when we are surrounded by areas that have issues & there is still a danger that cases could be imported into Darlo. So as you say there is no room for complacency.

Looking bad for the north-east, apart from us & Teesside, as restrictions are placed on nearly 2 million people. Looks only a matter of time before Darlington and Tees Valley follows suit. I'm involved with Coronavirus 19 swab tests & the levels in Darlington are relatively low. I agree with you th...

I agree Hull KR played very well & we played very badly. Recent weeks in the SL, just go to show that any side is capable on their day to beat any other side. The SL is very hard to predict this season. as no team is dominating proceedings at the moment.

Yes you did. Well Wigan really do surprise me, coming off a thumping by Hull KR, it looked a nailed on further loss away at Catalan.
