Re: Trotman joins villa

Will he definitely finish uni this year if he's away for a few weeks?

Maybe this is what Armstrong meant about loaning someone out to free up funds!

Re: Craig Morely

I'm with Spyman on this one - if our commercial offering is dependent on our commercial manager being mates with people to get takers then our commercial manager should spend time refining our commercial offering. From the outside looking in I thought that’s what had been happening. In the meantime...

Seems a weird business decision to pull your sponsorship because ban individual has left, regardless of how well you got on with that person. If the package you're getting is not affected, then nothing has changed. If it was good for your business before, it still is now. If you were a potential sp...

Maybe there's no mud/damage involved and it was a mutual thing.

Interestingly though the Martin deal was all arranged before this run of form that's taken us to touching distance of the play-offs.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough Spyman. What I find is sad is that the rugby club is unwilling to budge. EdJohns, I think we can access grants 5 years after the last lot, so not next year but the year after. Do you know they are unwilling to budge? If so then what is Johnston negotiating? That's what we did.

Connell was a short term loan to cover Elliott's injury, but he did well and there was a clamour to make it long term.

Re: Gary Martin

If we were to be promoted this season the only option would be the arena, it's as simple as that. Unless the rugby club have a miraculous reversal on their current terms, DJ doesn't want to invest anymore money in the place. I've heard that DJ has been trying to renegotiate terms with the rugby clu...

Re: Club Statement

Odds on this being swept under the carpet? They'll be doing their best to make us look the bad guys. Of that I am sure. Leave them to it. The police/FA/league will look at the evidence objectively, and there's plenty of evidence to suggest a lack of organisation on their part caused the problem, an...

There are very good reasons for the silence from DFC board ,until all the evidence has been collated and looked at with a clear mind and what actually happened is seen, then they will put out a statement if one is needed, Don't prejudge the situation, I have total faith that the DARLINGTON FC board...

He spent four years at Guiseley so hopefully we get to keep him for a good while yet, especially as he always seems to be loving his time with us when you hear him interviewed. What is his day job? Anyone know? You'd assume it's something he enjoys, that pays well and gives him long term security o...

No shame in having a relatively big budget, it's been provided by a relatively big fan base and is therefore pretty sustainable.

Re: Club Statement

So why is it ok for Spennymoor to put their spin on things & we can't? Hopefully the club are just preparing a statement, to put the true picture of what happened yesterday. We don't have to put 'our spin' on things. Stick to the facts and those in the wrong will I'm sure be held to account. If, as...

Re: Team of the decade

An idea shamelessly stolen from Twitter – who makes up your Darlingotn team of the decade? I’ve judged mine on a mix of contribution to the team, impact and ability. Goalkeeper – Sam Russell – We’ve had a lot of good keepers but no one has really stood out so I’ve gone for Russell who, in terms of ...

Not sure how Styche gets in ahead of Beck but each to their own For me, I do love a maverick so I guess Styche plays into that. And he undeniably could turn a game on his own and without him, I do think we’d have been in a relegation scrap the season TW took over. Absolutely he could go missing in ...

Dan Burn made 14 appearances for us. Hard to put him in a team of the decade on that basis, regardless of what he's achieved since.

Re: Team of the decade

Good point on Gray. Whilst he usually brought results on the pitch he ran the club too close to the wire financially. I hope in time he'll prove to have had a far more positive impact on the club than Gray - but you can't argue that Gray's management style got us where we are, and regardless of its ...

Apart from the fact there's still a year to go....

I agree with pretty much all of that team although I'd have White in for Miller I think. A huge part of our rise through the leagues and I don't think we've ever replaced his presence at the back.

Thought for once Chandler was very quiet, [emoji38] . From my view on the balcony, we were very dominant, more of the same on New Years Day please. He kept his gob shut for once as he was played off the park by Wheatley and Hatfield. Hatfield has been a phenomenal signing and will be an integral pa...

What was the capacity at Feethams? That would seem a reasonable assumption around what we could aspire towards - served us well for 100 years and coped with big games whilst not feeling empty for run of the mill games. Obviously our fan base has dwindled since then and we are playing at a lower leve...

At some point in the future we as a club will need to decide what is our ultimate goal. I'd have White in at the back, Galbraith left back and Ferguson in midfield. He was far more effective played further forward, probably in place of Falkingham. Turnbull and Hatfield are shoe-ins. Front three would be Thompson, Styche and Purewal for me I think. For some reason I'm struggling to thi...
