Re: Small clubs in the north west

Macclesfield town are in the north west and it was a certain Mr Singh I was referring to. Although Josef cala did nearly bankrupt Gateshead also. Not intending to upset ethnic minorities or the PC brigade I was just stating a fact. You could have said 'male owner' or 'two legged owner'. The fact he...

Re: Post 2012 XI

I'd have White in at the back, Galbraith left back and Ferguson in midfield. He was far more effective played further forward, probably in place of Falkingham. Turnbull and Hatfield are shoe-ins. Front three would be Thompson, Styche and Purewal for me I think. For some reason I'm struggling to thi...

No. He doesn't. He brings creativity though. You could argue, in games we are more fancied to win, that you withdraw one of the three central midfielders (Hatfield, Holness and Wheatley) for a more attacking / creative option. That could be Kneeshaw. Not sure I have an answer for clinical finishing...

Sounds like after an inconsistent start we're finding a bit of form now and things starting to click at both ends.

Great result. Lowest ranked team at home please. One win away from pulling a big League 1 or a League 2 club out of the hat away from home. Stick the ‘I wouldn’t mind going there for a day out shite’ for the next round, most winnable game at home please. Yeh fair point. Sent from my Pixel 2 using T...

It is a shame, but the one position we are overstocked in is centre backs Are we? Burn has been shunned so we have two players who normally play centre back, and two players who can cover there (Watson and Atkinson) but centre back isn't their primary position. Two average centre backs, and a midfi...

I thought I might look at Dunston UTS v Sunderland RCA in the FA Cup
Spennymoor v King's Lynn would be better, and only £10 entry for this game, should be over a 1000 AGAIN for this game, you could check the new pitch out
As it should be when your owner is subsidising entry so much

Yeah, I do think it’s worse to intimidate a woman, and I don’t think that’s an particularly controversial opinion?! How would you feel if it was your partner, your mother, your sister? I'd be bloody annoyed. The same as if it was my brother, my dad, or my mate. Of course a man harassing a women is ...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

Surely we're never 4-4-2 unless the 4 are all in a perfect line, and the next 4, and then the 2.

We play a 4-1-1-1-1-1-1 (if the offside trap works).

Re: Players past/present

Based on limited viewing compared to most, I'd go with: Worst player - I think it was Craig James. Left back who had a couple of spells with us and re-signed when Colin Todd took over, and I think was released before the season even started. I'm sure there's been many others who only played one or t...

Re: Small clubs in the north west

And since Reynolds, has anyone other than the fans and sponsors put in a significant amount of money into the club? Houghton and Singh just took out loans against the stadium and club, which they then failed to keep up payments on, leaving the debt with the club, which we then cleared as fans. Sent ...

Yet Dale, the man who made these financial decisions, is the one that walks away without punishment. Just like Singh did 7 years ago. The employees and fans who have no control or say over what is spent, are the ones who are punished. They lose a football team and an employer. And as we saw with Sin...

Burgmeier and Styche are of course the more notable internationals of recent years, but I don’t think there were any others in the team at the time. (Certainly not in Styche’s case, maybe Webster overlapped with Burgmeier, my memory is sketchy) No, Webster was early-arena Hodgy team, Burgmeier was ...

Get an injury, get a loan in. International call up, get a loan in. What's the obsession with spending money we don't have? Exactly. We have a squad, and as Ghost has already pointed out, we have players in that squad ready to come in and fill the gaps that may be created. Perhaps the frailty of la...

The thing is, regardless of whether we stay fan owned or have a wealthy owner, we will eventually find our level. Fan owned we are probably close to our level. With some luck we can probably rise another level and at an absolute push at some stage return to League 2 although probably only for a very...

Do we know how long Liddle is likely to be out for? To be fair I thought we looked just as good when we brought Heaton on and went 3-5-2 with Donawa and Watson as wing backs. If we revert back to 4-4-2 (sorry, 4-2-3-1 for the connoisseurs) and Atkinson is fit, then he's the obvious choice for right...

Re: Darlington V Southport

I would think Atkinson or Holliday can come in at right back, Watson stays left back and then Laing/Heaton/Galbraith play for the central defensive roles. We're still well covered in midfield with Hatfield, Bascombe, Holness and Wheatley so don't need to put Atkinson back in there even if he'd be f...
