Re: West Auckland - Karma?

Ridiculous title. Regardless of what happened back in 2012 I wouldn't want them to fold. They may have won the match that day but lost out as I recall the attendance on the day was the second smallest we'd had after Penrith when we were in the Northern League. Ridiculous title? Perhaps more an indi...

Re: Team v Stockport

At times in that second half, it was like an end-to-end cup match. They would have been down and out if we'd managed to put away one of those decent chances when we were 1-0 up but they also had chances. Heard people talking about some bother in town pre-match. Must have been about 14 cop cars outs...

Re: One More Point !

2 (TWO) points. ONE more point. We've got a 10-goal advantage over Blyth, that would be the same with an extra point, and they then only draw level on points. They'd then need to win 5-0 against Marine, and we'd need to suffer a 5-0 defeat to either Rushall or Whitby. That's not going to happen. We...

Re: Match thread

I always respect referees and linesmen who give their time, effort and energy to the game; many must have found they could never have made it as footballers, and have done the next best thing for the love of the sport. And good luck to them. But why do some go in to it, if they are so bad? If their...

Great win, always tough playing against 12.

The lad who missed the sitter at the death must've had the wrong studs on.

Re: Darlington v Stamford will be played at spennymoor SUNDA

The bigger issue here is still that the league are an absolute joke for being so rigid with the season end date. Its a real gripe of mine, because most leagues do it. Every year teams lose games to the weather, yet every year the late March/April fixture list is massively congested. To me it makes s...

Someone care to share what this 'league official' is supposed to have said?? Or is it a secret?!

Also, I don't for one second believe they didn't have the right boots - any footballer worth his salt carries more than one pair, to cater for hard/soft ground.

Re: Spennymoor's Playoff Campaign

We might have our own play-offs to worry about yet; not concentrating on Spennymoor. No matter how grateful we are for last night. This topic might of been better to be held off until our season is done. After the wonderful gesture from the club last night I think Darlo fans should (if commitments ...

Spennymoor's Playoff Campaign

After the wonderful gesture from the club last night I think Darlo fans should (if commitments permit) go along to the Brewery Field and get behind Spenny in their playoff quest. I wanted to see them promoted long before last night, but there's no doubt whatsoever that I want to see them go up. I th...

Re: Marine's pitch tonight

You're right, but it still should've been called off. Common sense isn't part of the decision process, unfortunately, as many of us will have found out previously. Club opinion is used as clubs made repeated complaints, and claims for compensation, from the FA because as they felt games were called...

Re: Marine's pitch tonight

Is it the referee who calls games off at this level? Local referee will generally be asked to do pitch inspection earlier on depending on when the away team start travelling. Grantham probably set off no later than 15:00 yesterday. Once both teams have arrived and the pitch is in doubt match refere...

Re: Top 9 after tonights games, Thursday Apr 07th 2016

Yeah I hear you, I don't for one second expect Blyth to lose all four games, just a bit of devils advocate from me, I feel MG and the lads will want to win all games regardless and won't be aiming for anything less. Frustrating, if that's the way you want to look at it, as I do, but 92 points won th...

Re: Top 9 after tonights games, Thursday Apr 07th 2016

Great work Ginge, but I'd say 5-1-0 is the maximum retirement, not minimum. Seeing how if Darlo achieve that, Blyth can't win the league. Minimum requirement would be 4 points, surely?

Re: season having to end in May

I thought it was because there's a deadline by which leagues and cup entries have to be sorted for the next season, and it's tighter higher up the pyramid. Thus the Northern League was extended a week but not the NPL. This. I was always lead to believe it was to do with promotions and relagations. ...
