Re: New deal for Donawa, Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes,Hedley,Reid,Storey, Campbell, Laing

Interesting to see that Alun isn't furloughed atm, as he is busy sorting out the squad for next season. he's probably one of the few managers at our level who isn't furloughed. What makes you say that? Pretty sure he is furloughed. I'm not sure Armstrong is necessarily needed to resign players who ...

So who are we still waiting on? Liddle, Wheatley, Galbraith, Atkinson, Holness? Anyone else? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk Holness still seems to be a strange one. Appears to have a new agent based on a tweet from earlier today ( https://twitter.com/adambfoy/status/1264121050083852289 ) not s...

Re: Boost the budget

i cant see why it cant be extended another month especially as the season wont be starting in August The club need to set a short deadline in order to appropriately plan financially for the year ahead. The earlier they know how much is in BTB, the easier this is to do. Also, BTB offers an excellent...

Re: Boost the budget

Fantastic that we've got it to £85,600. I expect there will be a surge in the last 5 or so days as people hit their payday's for May, and if we can get within £10k with 5 days to go I reckon we'll make the £100k mark. I know its all TBC at the moment but contract news on the likes of Hatfield, Campb...

Sounds like we did the sensible thing, I had a feeling he had already told AA no matter what we offered he wouldn't be returning, so we simply offered him a contract on the same terms again to ensure that should he sign for someone else the rules regarding transfer of players under the age of 24 kic...

Where's James Montgomery at the moment? I'd be surprised to see him back at nln level, very good keeper.
If you mean the former Gateshead keeper, hes currently at Fylde signed for them last summer from Forest Green.

Re: Potential new signings

I would like a big 6'3+ head it and kick it defender, but I dont think it makes financial sense to add a 4th CB especially when Reid can fill in in emergencies, so could see that being a one in one out situation, but then who would be let go? Either Galbraith or Laing. Neither are going to get any ...

Re: Potential new signings

I know that a couple of years ago, we had a youth keeper that made the bench a few times & was quite highly thought of. Does anybody know if the lad is still with the club & could he step up to be our regular shot stopper? Personally I'd prefer us to have a permanent keeper, rather than rely on a l...

Re: Big decision for Chester fans to make.

Sounds to me like Murphy's involvement was a bit of a hijack attempt. He came on board saying all the right things for a fan owned club, £1m for revenue generative infrastructure that would help to support them into the future, not trying to take equity too early and rattle any cages. He got in ther...

Finally got round to putting mine in. Really proud of us as a fan base £73k in times like these is nothing short of sensational, the amount keeps on ticking up too. Re: Big decision for Chester fans to make.

Open letter from Stuart Murphy to Chester fans makes for pretty grim reading. 2 years ago he earmarked £1m for infrastructure projects to provide additional revenue for the club. To date £625k has gone in to suring up the playing side over the last 2 seasons. The remaining £375k was to be spent on i...

Just to add our own CEO's view. Very good take on everything from DJ on the club website: https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/dj-article

Good to hear positive discussions have happened regarding the rest of the squad. And hopefully more positive news to come in the coming days.

Re: One chairman's view

How on earth can he only charge £99 for a ST at NL level? They must be losing a shed load of money & they were in the promotion race at one time. Not for one moment saying it’s a sustainable venture without the chairman. But they are fairly well subsidised by rental income from Arsenal Women’s and ...

Thanks to both players for their services. Ainge was a wage we simply couldn't afford. Elliott really staked a claim to be No.1 next season in his spell from January onward. Re: National League advises ending the season

Getting a chance to read through the detail of the NL proposal it's plain NL chairmen want to know what the basis of ending the season is before voting. But I guess the NL are fearful that if an unpopular option on how to end the season wins by a small.majority, that when a black or white vote occur...

No matter what decision is made at any level barrow must replace bury in the football league no arguments there. Although I was accused by a couple of posters on here when I suggested the playing budget for next year will be greatly reduced I’m still of the belief it will be as the DFCSG board want to get to a break even point which the club haven’t done since 2012. If it hadn’t been for the cup run money the...

My predictor currently says you'll need 67 points for a playoff place. But tbh for us that means 68 as our goal difference is so poor. The current prediction is that Gateshead will climb to 6th with 68 points, Chester will finish 7th with 67 points. We'll come 10th with Spenny, and Guiseley ahead of...

It looks very much like Gibson will no longer be chucking huge amounts of cash at the dream of turning Boro into an established Premier League club.
