Re: Season VOIDED

Basically the FA Council can decide to promote and relegate whoever they want, whenever they want within the National League System. At their discretion from time to time. Just watched "The English Game" where FA board consisted mainly of Old Etonians & seems like the FA rulebook still allows them ...

Re: Season VOIDED

I have always thought that this was the only fair option for all ,..... Not sure how this is fair on teams who have won their league or like Liverpool in Premiership are virtually certain to win the league. The judicial challenge will I guess centre on the season being 75% complete it is not fair o...

Teams at the bottom can simply not bother in remaining games as can't go down
Which remaining games? The season is over.
Not in the 3 divisions of the National League. It's only been ended from Steps 3 and below.....at present

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Excellent post and to be fair you cannot promote/relegate teams with 30 points to play for. This will happen if they go on PPG. I actually think york would have won league and Altrincham to win play offs. Let’s just say they promote the top 2 and relegate the bottom 2 this would be the outcome for ...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Looks like the lawyers will be the only ones to come out of Covid19 with money in their pockets. No doubt there are subtle nuances and differences between "voided / anulled / furloughed / terminated" etc that will affect club finances. Really need FA & Leagues to get their fingers out, make some ve...

But Spen, if Spennymoor were top of the league? A once in a generation chance of taking their superb perimeter fence up to the Holy Grail of The National League. Be honest now ..... I am being honest. As things stand now, Spennymoor are in play off position...therefore they still have a chance of p...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Bit of a mixed message in the article in one breathe says null and void but then goes on to say Barrow and Harrogate would be nominated for promotion. Totally unfair if true. Teams would be relegated down to their present position in the league? This is completely unsporting, as we all know that se...

Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

Eddie-rowles, you look at the situation through a "fan's eyes". You may want to do everything to save your club as would most fans The footballers are employees, not fans. They act as employees. Have you as an employee given your salary back to your employer? No? Then why should the employees of any...

Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

Been thinking of initiatives that may raise money going forward and wondered if the following had any merit. If the club currently have a tie up with a firm of solicitors, it may be an idea that they could offer a Will writing service at competitive rates on the proviso that the client leaves a por...

That only applies to the rich owners who don't decide they have more important commitments elsewhere. How many will decide that it's a hobby they can no longer justify? This is a very good point. Perhaps it helps to explain Pete's view. A lot of normal people have lost money up to now (me!) the ric...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Baffling decision tbh. Won't take long before some clubs who don't fancy a game because they've got a few knocks or aren't in form claim they've got players or staff who are ill to get the game hooked. Integrity of the competition very much a big issue in all of this. But classic National League th...

Got to admit that I don’t fully understand business accounts. What I don’t get though is that DJ said a year ago that lessons had been learnt and this year they would budget based on no cup run and lower attendances as they had learnt their lesson and the club must run within its means, hence large...

Am I reading it correctly that we are still running at a (presumably substantial) loss (if its taking BtB and DJs investment to bridge it), despite bringing in 123k from the cup? Worrying if so. Or is the exceptional income not included in operating P+L? I read it that although £123k earned from cu...

The license at BM has another 16 years to run.
I would be amazed if there are not break clauses to enable DFC to terminate the licence (and possibly DRFC to terminate as well) at pre defined points.

It’s very worrying for a number of reasons but like you say from a financial aspect it could be problematic. Many of our fans are of an advancing age and clearly at bigger risk of serious illness.
