Re: Darlington v Stamford will be played at spennymoor SUNDA

Crowds were boosted at Brewery Field by Spennymoor season ticket holders coming in for free. The same will happen today if we play there. Been up at New Ferens Park several times over the last few years, both when Durham still there and since (kids football). The place has really gone downhill. Mone...

Re: POSTPONED: Darlington v Stamford - New Ferens Park (Durh

NPL Twitter saying Spenny tomorrow OR Durham if Spenny unplayable!!! At least we have that Plan B Not liking plastic must be a Saturday thing. Ridiculous bleating on about Stamford refusing to play. By the time the game was moved to Durham their players were no doubt already en route to their coach...

Re: New stand

Prove??? Steady on mate, just wanted to take a look. Was interested as to whether there is any disabled provision in there as is relevant to me and mine. The plans would show access. Am hoping some of the seating will be unreserved and easily accessible. Is there any disabled provision in the new st...

Re: New stand

That's great. Have you got the reference number as the one stated above only refers to a covered stand and apparently hasn't even been designated a case officer or started consultation. As far as I'm aware the plans will have to be posted on the planning website for public consultation before a deci...

Re: New stand

This has been updated/corrected on the planning website and now refers to a 300 seater stand, however still states application date as 3/8/12 and no clues on there about when consultation will begin or when the decision will then be due. Are we being realistic in stating this will get the go ahead i...

Re: 'Home' Pre-Season Friendlies

Given the number of home friendlies that Bishop have, I don't think it's a bad idea that our friendlies are away from home. We don't want the HP pitch tearing up before a ball is kicked in anger. True but what we need is income and a couple against big teams could have got £10K per game maybe. Oh w...

Just trying to make the point that not everyone sees it the way we do. Clap trap? I think you'll find that every point is fact or based on comments read on here or on NLZ posted by Darlo fans. I agree with what you say, but you should recognise that it's only a few fans making these suggestions. Us...

Re: Where will we finish this season?

Maybe we've got to look at it from their viewpoint. They see a club with no ground of their own playing ten miles from their home town. They see a club they tried to help last season with bucket collections and in some cases even attending our matches instead of theirs at the end of the season to sh...

Minimum two years. More I expect. Just been reading on the Bishop website about their long fight to build Heritage Park, from detailed planning being lodged in mid 2004 to the ground opening six years later. They were homeless and sharing for nine years. http://www.bishopafc.com/page27.htm Best do a...

Re: Payroll Giving - CIC

Charities take a lot of setting pand must adhere to very strict guidelines. Accounts are scrutinised and annual accounting returns must be made to the charities commission. Where the CICs listed above do have a charity branch, the general aim of the CIC appears to be as a business generating money t...

Re: Payroll Giving - CIC

Have some involvement with charities. The aims of a charity must be for the public benefit. There is no chance we could meet the criteria ( if we could then wouldn't you think that every sports team around would be a registered charity?) Charities must have wholly charitable purposes and activities....

Intergen and The John Taylor Hospice are registered charities with a CIC branch. If I dig around a little more I'd probably find a similar link for Freedom in the Air. Re: Payroll Giving - CIC

Another big advantage of the CIC is that if your company runs a payroll giving scheme (EE/Orange do and i'm sure many other large companies) you can donate to the CIC before tax meaning for every £1 you donate it only costs you 80p as a low band tax payer or 60p as a high rate tax payer. Re: Uncovered Banner - Darlington 1883

The more we obsess about our new name, the more other clubs will delight in referring to us by it. Similarly our assertion that we're not a new club. In the eyes of the FA we are, but every time we point out we're not (eg on NLZ) it just gives the rest of the league a chance to have another go. Move...
