Re: Gloucester (A)
As I've said before, I have no confidence in this manager or group of players to get us out of this so it's over to them, hopefully they'll make me eat my words. Realistically we need to win the next two, but Gloucester have won their last four in all competitions at home. I said before we played Fa...

Re: Marske United
Would it really take 120k for a northern premier club to see out the end of the season? Could they not just offload big earners and see out the season with a trimmed down squad and re-group next season in division below? What also strikes me as odd is why were they not a limited company before now,...

Re: Marske United
It's a very sad situation, it appears their efforts to move to a more sustainable model have worked against them. Their fundraiser has got off to a flying start raising just shy of £6,700 at the time of writing, but to raise £120k with a relatively small fan base and a small catchment area with Chri...

Let's hope it's not as bad as you think it is then, as it stands currently I do not have the confidence in this manager or group of players to get us out of this situation.

Re: Hodgy
Sorry what do you mean by you wish he stayed away all them years ago? If he hadn't have come back in 2003 then there was a very real possibility we'd have been relegated which may well have resulted in us leaving the Arena years earlier than we did when Feethams was still standing. Of course back t...

Re: Hodgy
If true then I'm glad he turned it down, it would have been an anti-climax for me if he had returned. DFC is a very different club now compared to the one he left back in 2006. He worked miracles back in 2003/04 to avoid relegation and turned us from a perrenial bottom half League 2 side to a play-o...

Re: They don't think much of our chances
We could be out of the relegation zone by Christmas. A point at Banbury and then a couple of wins against Gloucester and Bishop Stortford would do it, provided Lings Lynn lose their games against Warrington and Southport. Unrealistic? Certainly. Impossible? No. I’m all for a bit of optimism in our ...

Re: They don't think much of our chances
I've changed my mind since my earlier post in this thread and todays postponement hasn't helped. I can't hope against reality for a win and a bit of a boost to go with it. I still think we can beat Blyth though - I agree, I would sooner have gone down there got beat and got it over with on the day....

It's next Saturday.
However, there is still a possibility we could yet be heading down there on a Tuesday night! Let's hope the weather is a little kinder next week.

Re: They don't think much of our chances
We managed 8 points from 6 games in November and I think a similar return from the 6 games in December would be a decent return. My best guess would be. Southport Away 0 points Banbury Away 1 point Gloucester Away 3 points B Stortford Home 3 points Scarborough Away 0 points Scarborough Home 1 point...

Re: Jacob Hazel
Yes - we are in a relegation scrap, but I’ve seen far worse situations at Darlo over the last 30 years. Out of the last 30 years we spent 17 of them in the Football League, 20 years ago things were dire when we were struggling at the bottom of what was then Divsion 3 as things unravelled completely...

Re: They don't think much of our chances
Aside from Tamworth winning the league and King's Lynn finishing in the bottom 4 and Gloucester finishing above us I'd say that could be pretty accurate.
I think Scunny will win the league and either Rushall, Farsley or Peterborough Sports could go down with us, Gloucester, and Bishop's Stortford.

Re: Darlington V Rushall
Yesterday's game was not an easy watch to say the least, two sides who showed exactly why they're in the bottom 4. A bit of a re-run from Tuesday night, plenty of possession with little creativity we were bright in the opening 10/15 minutes or so but after that it was a fairly even game and neither ...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
Cruel tho it sounds, I'd gleefully take owt that's going from the ground grading police ;) Of course it remains a possibility Rushall could finish in the bottom 4 and be relegated regardless, in that situation we'd have to hope we are the highest ranked out of the relegated sides if Warrington fail...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
It can't be easy for them having to adequately fund the playing side at the same time as being threatened with an automatic relegation unless they carry out major improvements to their ground over the next four months. To meet the ground requirements for Step Two, they must build a new 252-seater s...

Re: Warrington
As expected, one that will not live long in the memory especially with a depleted squad which started with no recgonisable strikers. The fact Warrington, who were less than ordinary tonight to say the least, occupy a comfortable midtable berth while we are languishing in the bottom 4 speaks volumes ...

When travelling on the fan's coaches we used to look out for Lance Robson's bright yellow E-type Jag passing us at some point, which as he had surgery on Saturday mornings it virtually always did. As we had players from York, Grimsby and Leeds areas also I doubt they came to Darlo to get the bus to...

It totally boils my pee when idiots say anyone who does not hold the same opinion as them is "deluded" If YOU can not get your head around the FACT that Hazel is a professional sportsman, who is under contract to DARLINGTON FC.(A contract he willingly signed with no one twisting his arm), and that ...

It was a main reason why the Wright experiment didn’t work. Even if a couple of the new signings are moving into a club house in Darlington it still doesn’t do much for team spirit if they are all making their own way to a game. It would probably include the manager and assistant too. It’s not good...

But it’s also a necessary part of building a team spirit, all the lads traveling to a game together, pre match banter on the bus building a positive team spirit. Instead they’ll all rock up in their car schools about an hour before the game. If not enough players are on the bus then that banter etc...

Another thing I don’t see as being mentioned from the forum is that if there’s only a handful of players on the bus they’ll make alternative plans to get to matches. No team bonding on the bus journey then. More problems that were part of the Wright era raising its head again. To be honest, if too ...

I just don't think it was a hugely sinister lie, in fact I didn't think it was much more than a throwaway comment. More concerned with the next 10 games tbh. They are make or break for our season. I do suspect the board are thinking that a more 'obvious' appointment might have avoided some of this....

I know Tuesday was dire but if the players aren't "good enough" how did we have two recent wins? Looking at the injury list and Burton going back we're really down to the bare bones. Ed will we in the league by the 29th century?!! Those two wins were followed by defeats, and yes we may have won a c...
