20 years ago today...

We played Villa away in the FA Cup after being drawn back in as the "lucky losers" in the second round following Man Utd's withdrawl to take part in the World Club Championship's in Brazil. A certain Gareth Southgate played that day along with Paul Merson, Dion Dublin and David James. I don't rememb...

Re: York away next month

Confirmed it won't be at their new ground. They'll move sometime in the new year after test events have taken place. If you saw York v Altrincham on the FA Cup this afternoon, most of the away end was sectioned off and only 300 places for the away end. Wonder if parts of it have been condemned like...

Re: Funny things that have happened when watching Darlo!!

1998/99 season at home to Rotherham two lads were being escorted out of the Tin Shed by two stewards followed by a third carrying a till, to this day I don't know what went on there! 1999/00 season Worthington Cup first round first leg tie at home to Bolton Mr Q fell over while running off the pitch...

For memorable Darlo vs Bury moments, how could I forget 2006 and our 3-2 win which went a long way to securing our league status and who can forget that Chris Brass OG. :-) This is usually the first thing I think of whenever discussing Bury! Even now 13 years later I'm not sure how he managed to do...

Up to his old tricks of turning up on doorsteps. To intimidate a woman, no less. Is it worse to intimidate a woman? If not, then there is no point in highlighting that it was a woman. But yeah, what a horrible man. 83 years old as well! Why's he not retired? Cause he's got nothing to retire to, wor...

Re: Fuck the EFL

Could be sang on Wednesday at the game in support of bury Can't see the point, I don't think the EFL will be watching or listening to what is being said at Darlo. It was the F.A. who fucked us over anyhow. Why support Bury, a team that massively overspent to gain promotion. It would be a bit like u...

Re: Small clubs in the north west

Wasn't there a type of 'site of community importance' status put on some footba grounds which could stop this? If I recall rightly Kettering Town Supporters Trust attempted to gain ACV status for Rockingham Road but it was rejected as it was derelict and property developers had already made substan...

Re: The Areana

If we do end back at the Arena it would be great if we could put safe standing behind both goals, not sure how much it would cost but could appeal to those who like to stand particularly the tin shed fans. Anyone know of this has been looked at? Has anyone asked Mowden? It is their stadium after al...

Re: The Areana

But I would never rule out a return to the Arena. DMP are in financial trouble and I could see us returning as tenants or if DMP go bust, I could see us returning as owners sometime in the future. Out of interest, if that scenario was to play out (which I hope it doesn't) where would the funds come...

A very, very cute tactic by the club to set this off BEFORE the new manager is installed.

I very much look forward to the reaction of many people when Big Mart inevitably makes his triumphant return. ;)

Re: Feethams or the Arena

Feethams was simply patched up and with health and safety requirements becoming stricter at some point eventually it would have needed replacing. I tend to disagree, had we stayed there then the West Stand would have likely have been closed down/demolished by now but the Polam Lane End and Tin Shed...

Has to be the Arena, as Feethams was a dump when we left it, although the Arena is probably a dump by now.
It looking a bit sad these days, I saw a comment on Sunderland’s forum saying it looks abandoned from the outside!

There is a lot of anger among the Hereford fans directed towards the board and the new management team. On Tuesday some of their fans were singing songs in support of the former manager and there were unsavoury scenes at the end with allegations that a fan threw punches towards one of their players...

Ridiculous title.

Regardless of what happened back in 2012 I wouldn't want them to fold.

They may have won the match that day but lost out as I recall the attendance on the day was the second smallest we'd had after Penrith when we were in the Northern League.

The flip side is maybe he has permission from ourselves/Stalybridge to do this?

I would be careful not to jump to conclusions here with out knowing the terms of the loan agreement between the two clubs and an apparent lack of knowledge regarding FA rules on this matter? (Which rule is he breaching?)
