Re: October 3rd

Well at the moment we only have 43 teams between North and South. Now they don’t look like promoting a team from Step 3 so we are short. If Bury get dropped in North Division then we will have 44 teams and 22 for each, of which Brackley or Gloucester would move South. If Bury aren’t dropped into us...

Re: Greetings again

I suppose the question is did you feel the bug right away or did it take some time? Whilst watching Bury I have sat in and watched some awful games with a tiny sub 2000 crowd spread around Gigg Lane. But I can't imagine it is half as weird as turning to to an away ground with 1000 away fans but jus...

Re: October 3rd

Yeah I get what you mean. I can just see the league making the most obvious choice during this summer which is two northern teams down and one southern team and leave everyone else as they were especially as no teams coming up. However until promotion sorted and Bury who knows 100%, as you say it’s ...

Re: October 3rd

Would be a predicament for the club in the selection of season ticket holders who would be allowed to attend if capacity limited to 300 as I think we have already sold 500. Already getting fewer games than last season, so it would be hard to bear if it was further limited. Personally, don't have an...

Re: Jordan Burrow & Macauley Langstaff

Let’s be honest Gray was tapped up in a sense that most managers/players are tapped up, and to think we don’t do it is crazy. A little conversation here and there will happen quite often before any approach. Gray was finished at Darlo, we had run out of money and needed to sell assets and Gray was o...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Seems to be an even further fall from grace these days if there is a liquidation event...Bury have been placed in North West Counties division 1 next season - that is equivalent of Northern League Division 2. Even longer way back for them than we had. The old club hasn't liquidated/or been relegate...

Hunt isn't here for a pay day, he could have got more no doubt closer to home. It seems his link to Hatfield and Liddle was the main factor in him signing for us from the comments. Whilst his age is always a risk, there are plenty of positives including his form for Crewe, seems a really good season...

We always wanted Tuesday as our midweek game so we can train on a Thursday before Saturday. Bishop wanted it also and other than one season I think the Northern Prem Winning season where we got the Tuesday but I think that may have been because we were expected to go to Blackwell. We then started th...

Re: The Close Season drags onwards, and onwards, and onwards, and onwards..

National League are working towards a September start for season 20/21.

I presume they hope we can get some people in the grounds then, which seems reasonable currently but not sure that would be full capacity - who knows.

I’ve said before managers like to get their own players in and normally let players under an own regime go at some point - Gray, Wright no different. We are living under a new player budget hopefully DJ in his forthcoming netcafe can actually let us know what it is as a fan owned club we should be ...

Re: Farewell Tez

Tez has been fantastic, not many play 300 games and score over 50 goals, with 3 promotions.

I also think he has gone out at the right time as well, works for both player and club currently. The end of the old era, we continue to move on.

Shirt Sale Update

So up to Wednesday night, 235 shirts had been sold via our online shop. Not sure what we normally sell early on. https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/shirt-orders-past-200-already Also a decent deal if you want to by both at £74.99 - I am sure everyone knows this but thought it was worth putting on. http...

Wrightson I think would be a good bet as we went in for him last summer.
From my understanding we didn't go in for him last year, things can always change but not convinced we will be in for him again this year either.

Re: The Team 20/21 season

We have a fantastic steady squad of 13 and it seems AA has been given enough resources to add 5 decent players to that. Looking at his recruitment last summer then I have no worries with his judgement. If Lambert wants to be part of that then would be more than happy, two strikers would be amazing, ...

Wrightson isn’t good enough for where we want to be imo. We already have plenty of defensive and midfield options and there will be plenty of players available who could prove as good if we need to strengthen in ...

Galbraith, Atkinson, Watson and Holness still without contract then? I wonder if Galbraith, as Captain, is being saved until last to be announced. It would seem odd if he were moving on not to announce that at the same time Thompson did. Whatever happens now we've tied down the core of the side whi...

Interesting to see that Alun isn't furloughed atm, as he is busy sorting out the squad for next season. he's probably one of the few managers at our level who isn't furloughed. What makes you say that? Pretty sure he is furloughed. I'm not sure Armstrong is necessarily needed to resign players who ...

Most if not close to all clubs are bankrolled, especially below the Premier League (also many of them). What happens if that outside investments stops I guess is the sentiment. In our case our budget would drop off by about a 1/3 if we had to make those saving straight in the player/management area....
