Re: The Areana

From my understanding Mowden rugby club won’t own the arena after the SV goes ahead, aren’t they handing it over as part of the deal. So Mowden Rugby club can go bust and it won’t affect the ground, although if both paying in and then only one that just have some effect. Also I think it’s already ow...

Re: New Striker

To be fair AA has said he would have liked a big physical striker, however O’Neill may cover this off for us for a period as he is quite aggressive for a young academy player.

Re: Saturday

What's your team in that formation

Elliott
Heaton, Laing, Galbraith
Donawa, Hatfield, Thompson, Rivers, Liddle
Campbell, O'Neill

So Trotman and Holmes out with injury and Holness out due to selection.

Re: Gateshead game...

Yes true I'm not saying there aren't concerns about the squad - I had some during pre-season and the first 2 performances haven't been perfect. But, as LoidLucan has said, there's no point in forming judgements after just 180 minutes. It's a rebuilding year after all As for the defence, I thought w...

Re: Gateshead game...

I'm something of a lapsed Darlo supporter, having only moved back to the area a few months ago. I haven't been going regularly since around 2013, so i'm toying with the idea of getting a season ticket again this year, as i enjoyed last night enormously. Felt great to be back. Thought we were really...

Re: Gateshead game...

I wonder if other clubs have a subsection of supporters who have to have a scapegoat, or if this rather bizarre phenomenon is limited purely to darlington Yeah all clubs have them, just a forum/twitter gives them a voice that everyone can hear. Even though some players give you reservations, AA has...

Re: Gateshead game...

Absolutely no need for some of these comments on Laing. Yes he got caught a couple of times in possession in the first half but so for example did Trotman yet not a word on that. And as has been pointed out the Gateshead number 9 was a nuisance and gave Galbraith just as much of a tough time. Secon...

Bad injury for Trotman believe he is at hospital think its an Achilles so will be out for several months That's bad news with a reasonably small squad. I don't think our squad is that small really. We're looking at missing Trotman, Atkinson, Wheatley, Holmes through injury on Saturday, and Burn is ...

He asked to leave.
He did and budget wise Armstrong was quite happy with that.

AA has said he could have kept more players from last season but budget wise that just wouldn't have worked, expecially as he didn't wnat to go down the 3/4/5 loan player front.

very good player - goal scoring midfielder. Presume he was allowed to leave because of the distance he would have to travel.
And the amount of money he was on.

Release one and get two for the price of the one released.

Have I missed something, if are just a walk in it’s £30, if you are a season ticket holder it’s £25, what’s wrong with that? What’s wrong it is quite simple. A season ticket holder has already paid for the football match, so £25 is for the cost of the food only. While the charge for the food for a ...

Rightly or wrongly, it costs you more as a season ticket holder than it does as a walk in. You have paid say £10 per game for ST then £25 or £40 (think it will be this) so yo...

Good luck to the lad, didn't work for him here and he had plenty to learn/improve which he might get with full time coaching. Agree with the above, his career at Darlo started badly and it never got much better, he might do ok if he played behind some leaders at the back of which we had none last ye...

If we are sensible then we perhaps keep some on non contract terms for the first 2/3 months to cover the busy period of the start of season, so Donawa, Bell & Holness. It's not great and certainly not perfect but may work and gives them the opportunity to try and earn a longer term contract if finan...

Finally an achievement in the FA Cup & Trophy

Well when I say achievement I mean they are paying teams that lose in the rounds some cash also. So if we go out in the 2nd round qualifier in the FA Cup and 3rd round preliminary in the FA Trophy we will at least earn some money. FA Cup 2nd round qualifier losers - £2,250 FA Trophy losers 3rd round...
