Re: Darlington FC communications

No question that whatever you feel about the communication and I personally think it has been very poor indeed, the last few days of BTB can only be helped by regular updates and some signs of what we are doing as a club, particularly AA. There is no downside to this. I haven’t checked back but pre...

Re: Darlington FC communications

It seems a little strange that our Head of Media & Communications is on holiday during the BTB run-in. Re: Away kit poll

Put a black trim on the orange one and that might have swayed it, as it is it's the green one for me.

Be more than happy to see the runner up used as next years away kit, would definitely buy both.

Alright, I take it back. Option 3, the mint green number, is an absolute cracker!

Day one purchase if it wins.

Re: Away kit poll

Put that burgundy number against pretty much anything other than a yellow or orange one and it'd be an easy choice.

Can't pass up the chance for an orange kit though!

Certainly helps exiles to feel more involved, much appreciated.

Wouldn't mind seeing him do well but it's a massive job there in a very different world to the one he's used to.

Maybe they'll take Burn off our hands if we're lucky.

Parslow could do a job as back up if fully fit - certainly preferable to Jonny Burn but I’d assume his wages might be a stumbling block I'm guessing taking players from York, the big question is, will they be interested in leaving Professional Football to sign Semi-Pro for us Sent from my SM-G950F ...

Re: New Manager Poll

Shocked no-one has mentioned Craig Liddle as yet so there you go. He's heavily involved with youth coaching at Boro and seems he'd rather keep on down that road than a return to management, especially given the position we're in. I'd be happy with Thirlwell, Swailes or Aspin. Bower too but I don't ...

Re: Who do we fancy then?

Chris Swailes - Done a great job at Dunston, has coaching experience and is locally based. Imagine he'd cost next to nothing. John Flanagan - Had a limited budget at Curzon and managed to get them punching above their weight. Experience of the league. Would have doubts over Armstrong following recen...

Saw a fair bit of Muggleton when he was at York. He's solid enough if unspectacular, not really one to go belting forward and beating a man.

His throw has to be seen to be believed though, absolutely massive! Think Delap with an extra few feet.

What it'll be is two youth teams playing in a competition hardly anyone has heard of yet alone cares about being hijacked by a dozen or so Stone Island wearing, knuckle-dragging dickheads playing hooligan after a couple of pints of Carling. To say this is a rivalry when it's not even the first teams...

Shirt sizes

Just a quick one before I order. How forgiving are the replica shirt sizes this year? As a bit of a lump I'm usually between an L and an XL.

Don't fancy my man tits in a skin tight shirt but don't want it hanging off me either.

Cheers.

Re: Local Clubs Released Players

Louis Almond has apparently turned down a new contract at York. Spent a lot of last season injured but there is a decent striker there to be had assuming he is now fit again Not for me. He's a lot like Connolly who they've also released, only with less ability. Has a very good game then does nothin...

The ability is there, but he seems to think of himself as League Two player minimum which reflects in his attitude and training.

Has a record of injuries too.

Thought it might be an idea to have one place for plays released from local ish clubs that we might be looking to sign. York are the first to announce with releasing Connor Brown, Aidan Connolly, James Gray, Sam Muggleton, Daniel Rowe, Michael Rankine, Luke Simpson, Connor Smith, and Theo Wharton. ...

Felix unfortunately signed for Leamington after he was released by York. Well if the A & N are correct then I would guess at Jon Ashton & Daniel Nti who are both currently at Nuneaton. Jon is player / assistant manager (centre-half) and started his career off with Tommy at Leicester. Nti is a winger / centre forward who was named in the NLN Team of the Year a couple of ...
