Re: Important news coming from Darlington Rugby Club

OK it would take a lot of work and money to bring Eastbourne up to scratch, money we don`t have. It will take less money to ground share at Blackwell fact. Should long term plans and future horizons not be debated now ?. Long term plans are already in the pipeline as mentioned at the forums. Basica...

Re: Important news coming from Darlington Rugby Club

Well we will see how it pans out in a couple of years. The owners of Blackwell will always have the rugby club at its heart and why not, I just want the football club to have the football at its heart, this is hardly not getting behind the club. These are longer term questions we all need to think a...

Re: Important news coming from Darlington Rugby Club

And still ted_do gripes like fuck without suggesting a single tangible alternative. DFC fans should be thankful to the rugby club, personally I'm a bit sick of minority sports having the wip hand on a club/sport with potently many more fans. I'm am gratefull to the rugby club for a way back, with D...

Re: Pick the next home kit

I don't give a s*** as long as it is in stock for aug/sep if kit 2 is the easier option production wise then go with that. While love the voting on things about the club, i dont thing anyone would have grumbled too much (bar a few) if they turned round and said: "Kit 2 is next seasons strip because...

an off the shelf away top in a traditional design (not pink and fancy), something like number 2 but in red with a black band Was the pink away top this year not an off the shelf design? The on shelf designs can come in any colour they stock usually (at least that was my understanding). I always gue...

Re: Pick the next home kit

I agree with Spyman and others that getting stock availability is best served with shirt 2, its off the shelf and can be ordered in small batches keeping them always in stock in our shop. After the initial start of season rush this would also help with impulse and Christmas purchases and this is why...

Re: DFC CIC News

Good stuff, and puts to bed a lot of the criticism about 'unelected board members'. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Touché ;) , no seriously this is good news, I'm also surprised that so few have come forwards, but I can't complain as I have lots to say but did not put myself forward. I, like a...

Re: An open post to......someone, but I don't know who......

I can see where you are coming from, and for me the structure has never been right from day one, all these unelected boards spending fans cash, needing cash injections to keep going ……BUT, having thought, moaned, whinged and cried I can not see a better way of operating, think about it there is no ...

Ted, whilst I agree with some of your points, I really wish you'd stop droning on about "unelected boards", as if you've got the hump about it. Or as if it's a big deal, or shouldn't have happened, or is not fair, or whatever the fucking fuck you mean when you blart on about it. Nobody should have ...

Re: An open post to......someone, but I don't know who......

It would normally be the Chairman....but therein lies the problem and another subtext of this post. And a bit of context - I do understand what is going on with the club at the moment. I understand there are a lot of people doing great stuff, a lot of them for very little, or no, reward or recognit...

Re: Blackwell

.... We will need pros for erecting the stands, but if cash is short even this could be delayed for a year or two leaving the seats uncovered, (not Ideal i know). I may be wrong, but I do not think uncovered seats can be counted towards the minimum ground grading requirements, so this would leave t...

Re: Blackwell

I don't think many people will mention DFC in their linkedin. When it comes to the ground we are going to need skilled individuals. This is very different to say if the club needs a group of people to put the pitch covers on! Could be something to be done. I'll try and speak to the CIC as they prob...

Re: Blackwell

Yep we could try and get a local builders supply company onboard like the RA had with MKM, who helped out a lot, although this was due to Martin, I`m sure DFC fans must have mates and companies that can help. We the fans could dig out the footing for post and paths with the pros laying the concrete....

lo: Don't forget the fund is £75K (hopefully supplemented by grants) Initially £20K is for the preliminaries, before a bead of sweat has been shed on the practical element. In essence leaving £55K I have a Management & H&S back ground. I currently work as a Operations Manager, and often step over i...

Re: Fans Forum Writeup

I at a loss to why the Return to Darlo fund was launched before we'd finished the squareknot crowdfunding process. Securing a firm financial base is our first step in returning to Darlo. If we could hit £50k (in addition to the Dan Burn money) in crowdfunding then we could concentrate all our effor...

Re: Financial : SquareKnot

One important point, MJ clarified afterwards that the target is £50k across both pitches, equity + reward, not each. I didn't think the squareknot site made this clear. Did he mention if we did get £50k across both we would be able to take it? I just thought the rules on squareknot are that if you ...

It was bloody hard work this morning. I have the bllsters to prove it!!. From a pitch that was unplayable to getting the game on was a great achievement . It made it all worth while when the team put in a performance like they did. Like to think that was the teams way of showing their appreciation....

without counting chickens, this is absolutely fantastic news. it about time we had a little windfall and this could set us up and stop the financial wobbles, which with 1000 fans attending and part-time outgoings a club of our size should not be having crisis after crisis we should be building sound...

Re: BBC report on the arena

Just to play devils advocate, how do DMPRFC appear to be living off their savings? The sad thing is they have done more financially and commercially with the arena in the few moths they have had it than we ever did. And that's just a fact. The arena costs circa 9k a month to run, they have two gyms...

Good post Ted. Maybe If the Council had had some money at the time they could have taken on The Arena and much of what you describe at the start of your second paragraph might have happened. Which does seem a logical and sensible outcome. The Arena is a good facility and what's happening now doesn'...

Re: BBC report on the arena

With £5million in the bank and no wage bill to speak of I reckon even Raj Singh could have made it work. Apples and oranges that comparison. Having seen this program, listened to Radio Tees interviews and personally watching Rugby at the arena, I have to agree that Mowden are loving playing the big...

Re: So, how many of us think of Darlo as a new club ?

I think the FA only made us a "new" club because they couldn't be arsed to listen to our case. Who cares about some crappy no-mark northern club that their predominantly southern-based members hate travelling to anyway. Yes we broke the rules, but there were mitigating circumstances and the punishm...

Could Darlington FC 1883 take out a CVA and reform debt free as Darlington AFC, as I would rather see 100 grand going towards a new ground and not to pay for Arno`s new swimming pool.

Re: Short Term Future

So if we don't raise the 50 grand...what happens? We cease to exist. There are probably some options to explore before we get to that point though. It's actually 100k we are aiming for but half of would see us ok for now. What I think is really important is that all of us on Uncovered and other har...
