Re: Arthur Wharton statue off to Rotherham
Is there any explanation as to why the statute is to be at rotherham as opposed to any of the other clubs he played at? Here's my guess... That was the club where he became the first ever black professional footballer at. He was only an amateur at Darlington and Preston. Although perhaps he was not...

Re: Warrington Town v Darlington Match Thread
Lads did a fantastic job today, every one of them contributing to the result. Warrington could not live with us today. Dowson had an exceptional first half, for his second he turned the defender inside-out when he switched to his left foot the shot left their keeper no chance. In the second half Gal...

It's more of a marathon than a sprint. One or two teams off to a quicker start. It will come good I'm sure and I hope we do enough to get a play-off place.

Re: Fisher vs AJ
Fisher was always the first choice signing, AJ was brought in when Fisher didnt come. Agree completely on Robinson, big fan and shows when hes gone to a club flying high in division above. Was defending Fisher as individual, think he will show in time hes got quality. The problem is centre midfield...

Martin gray needs to sort out our defence how the hell did pilatos get motm? Who votes he got skined all the first half by northwich rm never made tackles or try to stop the rm crossing the ball Their RM must have been fantastic, crossing over the pitch all first half while covering his own side of...

Re: The trouble at the game last Saturday.
I was amazed at the end of last season one of our fans ran onto the pitch, jumped on our players who were celebrating a goal. He then ran back across the pitch, threatened to punch one of the opposing players and back into the crowd. Football fan???

Re: Alan White's Yellow Cards
Qualifying matches for a suspension can only be for the team whom the Player was playing for at the time they were sent off. Thats not right because if you are transferred whilst serving a ban you are still banned? Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2 http://nav.thefa.com/sitecore/content/TheFA/H...

Re: Blackwell
This isn’t for their main pitch, it’s for another, so the players and officials would need to walk out of our proposed stadium, around DRFC’s main pitch and avoid the fans on their way to the changing rooms. As far as I know all the land at Blackwell Meadows is council owned except for the footprin...

Re: More support needed
I do wonder what we are paying out, if crowds of 1,100 can't sustain a part time club at this level. I'd be interested to see the accounts. If we are paying £150/£200 per week for 18/20 players + rent + other staff then there will not be much change from 600 ST sales + 600 paying at the gate over 2...

Moore and Thompson seem to have a good understanding, they switched wings when they had to on Saturday. Who plays in the middle? I think it is a great dilemma to have, some great individual players.

Re: Clitheroe V Darlington 1883 Match Thread
Quakers were you there today? If anyone was slating how bad we were it will be based on how bad we played first half. If you read the game well you would know that we were well below par first half and we will get punished for that complacency in this league. however 2nd half we were the team we al...

Re: Consett V Darlington
First half Consett more or less played a very defensive game, always at least 6 behind the ball. Even so they had the best of the chances and should have gone in front. Hedley could not make any progress at all on the left and was frustrated. Robbo very vocal and did okay, not at his best. White sol...

I though Andy McWilliams played well today, also Chris Moore. Defence caught napping a little for the second by Adam Boyes, however, was a very good goal to be honest.

Re: Whitby Town v Darlington Match Thread
The funny thing about Gary Brown is that he was outstanding against Shildon on Friday night and never put a foot wrong. Very much a Jekyll and Hyde performance and an instance extremely similar to this was when he played poorly against Sunderland RCA at home, giving away a penalty and subbed on the...
