Re: Farsley coverage
AA very clearly doesn't think there's anything wrong with the system. He believes it's the players going into their shell after conceding and not doing the basics when attacking, ie getting the ball out wide and feeding crosses into the right areas for the forwards. "We keep the ball for fun, but di...

Re: Farsley coverage
Your miles away from the action with this camera but it looked very much like Spencer bludgeoned Reid to the deck with his elbow. The farsley twitter glossed over things with just "Spencer cautioned" and nothing else. Our boys looked none too happy with it. Quite an entertaining game on a diabolical...

Re: Louis Laing
If anyone thinks BM is bad just wait until the players step onto the pitches at Farsley and Kettering. You also wonder what impact the stop-start nature of playing and training is having. It can't help when everything is halted and then suddenly launching back into action after a gap.

Re: Southport away postponed
It really is time to put the health of the wider community first rather than just taking a risk and carrying on with this increasingly meaningless and chaotic season. In the current appalling crisis, I can't see how it can be justified to just carry on regardless when the risks are increasing day by...

Re: Southport away postponed
I think it's time for our league to admit defeat on this season for a number of reasons. The new virus strain, which transmits so easily, has now ramped up the dangers of players training, travelling and playing so frequently, especially when you consider one-third are asymptomatic and there is no t...

Re: Brackley v Darlo
It's an interesting situation at Brackley and if you're going to rely on one man's money to punch way above your weight, then this is just about the safest and best way to do it. The multi-millionaire Allan Leighton has a company called Pleasure Media that is the holding company for the club and Lei...

Re: Brackley v Darlo
Likewise, I didn't think last night indicated we need to have some kind of radical rethink. Brackley have a core of experienced players who have hundreds of appearances behind them. They packed their defence, crowded out our threats like O'Neill, Campbell, Sousa and Rivers and managed things well af...

Re: Brackley v Darlo
Big, strong, solid, experienced, well-resourced Brackley just had too much for us after four hours on a coach. Our possession, passing football just fizzled out around the box.

Re: Spennymoor away
The major problem with these kind of multi-thousand-pound, cutting-edge pitch covers is that their effectiveness is somewhat reduced if they are not deployed on the pitch and then you get snow in the middle of an extreme cold snap in mid-winter.

It's Foggitt every time! But don't worry as it's a Football League standard pitch with the best covers money can buy and postponements are a thing of the past.

Re: Spennymoor away
Hang on, surely there is no chance of this match being off. Brad forked out many thousands of pounds on state-of-the-art covers to help maintain a "Football League standard" playing surface. The manufacturers say the Matchsaver pitch covers are "Ideal for protecting surfaces from waterlogging, frost...

I can see why you might want to overstate things if your avowed aim is to be the "biggest and best" in County Durham. I don't want to labour the point but if you have a few spare seconds just take a look at the start of these highlights and tell me if you think the official near-900 attendance look...

Re: Boston Game To Be Replayed
On the other hand, had the ref stopped the game because two players were laid out I don't think many would have thought it unreasonable. We've all seen play stopped in such circumstances and it doesn't cause absolute uproar even if the injuries turn out not be be as serious as first feared.

Re: Boston Game To Be Replayed
The ruling doesn't surprise me given that the game hadn't finished and that no-one was to blame for the extremely rare incident that meant the game had to be abandoned. Would deciding the result of an unfinished game on the balance of probability really be the right thing to do?

Re: Boston Game To Be Replayed
My problem with this judgment is that it could set a precedent that could be exploited by an unscrupulous player. What is to stop a player trying to feign a had injury in order to get a game abandoned if his team is losing? It may seem a bit extreme but when the stakes are high some may be tempted ...
