Re: Darlo v Boston Match Thread
Some good and bad stories from last night re: Boston. I live in Lincolnshire so know what was going on on the radio, even though I was watching the live stream and at work today some of my mates who listenend on the radio were talking about it. By all accounts their players were exemplary. However,...

I voted #3 first time around. I like the new #1 too. How about #2 for the away kit with a new colour to replace the white but keeping the narrow black lines?

Re: Spennymoor Away
Just seen the highlights. Man, did we miss some chances! Spenny scored with their 1 on 1s, we didn't. That was a bad miss by Adam Campbell. He scores some good goals, but misses some easy ones too. And what was Elliott doing for their first goal! If he'd stayed back, there were covering defenders. ...

Re: Leamington (A)
For me Lambert doesn’t really add a lot. Goal scorers are expensive/rare and every team wants one. AA stated after the Motherwell friendly that big lads up front are even harder to find because the trend in academies of late has been to develop smaller more mobile forwards. As for leadership in defe...

Are we still in for this Gary Martin move in January? If so he/Donawa could see us through to the end of the season. Remember this is a rebuilding year.
I can see us going for McGuire in the summer esp if York go up to the NL

Re: The Squad for Brackley and FA Cup
After last Saturday I’d definitely say Laing could be pressed in as a makeshift forward. He caused mayhem on the Ssddlers’ defence and won all flick-ons

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall
A quick scan of the comments on their FB page and it’s clear to see that many of their fans can see us winning. It’d doom and gloom there at the moment. Darrell Clarke is questioning the players’ desire etc. It’s got ‘shock’ written all over it. Only downer is that the negativity will produce a poo...

Sounds harsh but I don’t think Elliott would have kept Leamington out yesterday or commanded his box like Connell did. He was immense and inspired confidence in both the back four and the travelling fans. Hopefully we can keep him

Re: Bradford PA...
AA would love a target man. He said as much to myself and Quakerman2 post-Motherwell. Thing is big target men are rare and/or expensive these days as the fashion among the bigger clubs/academies is now to sign small, mobile forwards, hence why there are more of them knocking around at lower levels. ...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo
Blyth got in there with no investment (by which you really mean a benefactor willing to donate money with no return). We are pretty much a brand new team and will take time to gel. Also remember Blyth had McGuire to play up front whereas our ‘no 9’ is smaller than Thommo. Alun said it’d be like this...

Re: Motherwell game
Me and Quakerman had a good chat with AA after the match. To summarise: Hatfield is a key signing (a ‘nasty t**t’ that he was missing at Blyth). Work to be done with Campbell after his years as a winger in the FL. Pace and movement cause chaos in this league. Big forwards are now hard to find/expens...

Re: Motherwell game
0-1. Keeper sliced backpass behind for a corner (looks a good shot stopper though) They scored a rebound goal from the knock-down. Playing well, looking fit, solid at back/defensive midfield (Holness and Hatfield). Good going forward but wee Campbell too lightweight/small for this league?? Early day...

Re: Motherwell game
Initial thoughts...the Bermudan CF is a big unit. You can see Burn’s ability in the warmup. He owes it to himself to perform. We also look a lot leaner than we did at PSV. Some of the impressive bellies from Lanarkshire would have fitted in well at that game. Oh yeah.. and Campbell is much smaller t...
