Re: Ground share
I really can't get my head around the hysteria about the Arena in this context. I'd always be firmly against a long term or permanent return to the Arena because its simply awful watching football in a 25'000 capacity stadium with 1500 people inside. But all the faffing on about "what it represents"...

Re: Attacking options
I imagine the starting combo is going to be Campbell and Maguire up front together with Donawa left wing and Rivers right wing. Holmes and Charman will be frequently used subs to start with and will probably need to fight their way into the team but I don't see any of them being disillusioned with a...

Re: Maguire & Langstaff Released
What a great signing! If we got Maguire last season, not sure we'd have got Campbell as well. This way we've got both of them! Our team is looking very tasty for next season!

Agree with most. Would let Laing go and hang on to Trotman if we can, but if he gets an offer from higher up or ends up being a side celebrity after Love Island so wants to be closer to home we can make our peace with that. Tez and Thommo are legends but I'd be pulling them in and seeing how they'd...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton
Liddle will be a big miss for that long, a loan will probably be looked at longer term, but I'd expect Watson to slot in on Saturday or us to go 3 at the back if Alun is uneasy with playing 2 unnatural full backs.

Re: Elliot and Connel
I think the competition has really helped Elliott. You definitely need competition for places to get the best out of your players. Sounded like he was playing through injury at the start of the season but all of a sudden the obvious concerns about him being a bit on the small side for a keeper have ...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
Fantastic return of points over the festive period and in a league position that we could not have imagined. Still have no idea though what go,s wrong at half time. Yet again we batter a team in first half and miss 3/4 gilt edged chances to make the game safe, then play like a completely different ...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
Liddle really didn't look himself at Spennymoor. One of the players of the season for us so far but maybe we'd benefit giving Watson a run at left back and give Lids a chance to recover from any niggles he's carrying if that's the case. Maybe he just had a bit of an off day and was up against a real...

Re: Club Statement
I actually don't mind the silence. We're keeping quiet and letting the reaction die down and conveniently every single Spenny version of events or snide insinuation from the club has been absolutely destroyed by video or picture evidence, some from neutral fans of other clubs saying what a state the...

Re: Spennymoor Away
My fear is due to yesterday next time we play them there. Play offs? you never know that they will now give us only 500 tickets. The problem wasnt lack of ticketing but simply not giving us a proper section. We should have been given most of the south terrace behind the goal with a gap stewarded be...

Re: Spennymoor Away
A press release a week ago saying "the Darlo game is all ticket, Darlo fans are getting one side plus one block of seats, 750 tickets (a more realistic number for the amount of fans that part of the ground can safely hold), deal with it". No issues whatsoever. If they want to give us a lower allocat...

Re: Spennymoor Away
Are we really all going to sit here and pretend a couple of hundred aren't just going to wear a coat and go in the home end where there'll be plenty of space and a good view? I know they shouldn't, but they will. If Spenny want to do this for their ego than that's their prerogative, but very, very s...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor
Apparently objects were thrown by the spendy fans at Campbell when he scored at there end. Do you think we might be able to identify them in the crowd? To be fair Campbell did go RIGHT up to them and give it the Hulk Hogan ear cup, which was hilarious but not really worth being booked for! Th...

Just thinking about where we are at Christmas and what we've achieved. 10th in the league, still in the FA Trophy, a run to the 1st round of the FA Cup, a match on TV. Just wow. The football we play too, particularly at our best has been a huge highlight. Really nice, high paced passing football wi...

Re: An observation...
We were no more lucky than they were not to be 5-0 down at half time! They're an excellent side and will probably go up, they were always going to come on strong and have a few chances. Aside from the header off the bar and a great save by Elliott to deny a deflected shot, I think they huffed and pu...

I'm not sure how brilliant we were today is getting talked about enough!!! Seriously, loved the grit and determination in the second half to secure the win when York came on strong, lads like Elliott who must have felt a bit naff with the Liam Connell fanfare earlier this season and Laing who had ta...

Re: Darlington v Chester
What a great result that is after 2 really disappointing ones last week, great answer by the lads. You could tell they were absolutely having none of it when Chester piled on the pressure for that spell in the middle of the second half. Beating 3rd place and keeping a clean sheet without Galbraith a...

After seeing the highlights we have nowt to whinge about. The ball had come to a stop before the lad took the free kick and the goal scorer was definitely onside and ran in behind while Storey and Laing were stood with their mouths open catching flies.

Re: Darlington V Telford
Was that a little bit of a retort by AA in the post-match interview, when he said Justin Donawa didn't impact the 2nd half one little bit. Markedly different words from saying that someone faded a little. Sounds like he's saying 'That's why Donawa doesn't start. I thought Armstrong was out of order...

The nature for those goals were absolutely indefensible, every one of them. And every time there's a game where we concede those infuriating goals where the centre of defense disappears and the striker ends up with an eternity to pick his spot one on one, there seems to be a common theme.

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread
Thompson was "disappointing"...playing out of position, won and kept about 75% of balls to him when outnumbered, battled against 4 full time football league defenders for 90 minutes, beat centre halves twice his size in the air at times, some lovely touches, turns and link ups...disappointing!? No c...

Surely just segregate from the fence near the changing rooms to the 18 yard line on the pavilion side of the open end so away fans can have those turnstiles without giving up the full away end. We can reserve a small section of the seating stand for any older/disabled Walsall fans that need them and...

With regards to the money, surely lets just treat it like its not even there until the end of the season. The mood among fans is probably a lot more positive in general than I suggested initially, I suppose I'm just overly excited having wanted this for years and am surprised there's any "meh" about it at all! Are we still entertaining the notion that Blackwell Meadows isn't absolutely rubbish for anything more than our standard league crowd? A big away crowd is always a cracking atmosphere, especially when the home crowd aren't arsed and are easily drowned out. We're not capable of a big home crowd. Our ...

All the people whinging about the draw, seriously, what are you on about!? The odds on us pulling Pools or Sunderland were extremely long. Outside of that, would you prefer a total nothing tie against a team at our level or the Conference that we could easily lose and nobody would even bat an eye l...
