Re: Darlington V Chorley

Unless he's on the wrong touchline there are quite clearly two players in between the goalkeeper and where the Assistant Referee is going to be stood. Referee has not read the situation well at all - simple as really. Suspect if you ask him on Friday he will admit as much given what I know of him b...

Re: Leamington new ground

Darlington has a new community stadium already, home of Darlington Town.
I cant see any more money being available for another community stadium.
The longer it goes on, the less likely it will be that we get our own ground.

Re: Darlington V Chorley

You are presuming from a screenshot the assistant won’t have had a good view! Typical arrogance of some officials unfortunately, they are “never wrong”. The reactions of the players from both teams showed the ref that he could well have made an error. He should have consulted the assistant if only t...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

In this situation why didn’t the ref ask his assistant if he thought the scunthorpe player had fouled the keeper? The assistant would have had a good perspective of the incident.

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Thing is its obvious he guessed instead of being sure! If there was any doubt he has an assistant there to help him, go over and ask for his opinion!! I'm sure if both had concluded there was a foul then it would have been easier to accept. However he arrogantly stuck to his decision and made himsel...

It seems we have the referee from the Spenny Scunny game last night for friday.
Anyone whos seen the goal he disallowed will rightly be concerned about his ability!

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Rivers is fine to bring on for 20 minutes if you have a lead and you just need someone to keep the ball but his influence when starting games is minimal. You cant have been there on saturday then, Rivers was one of the few that had a good game and also played Main through for the first goal.

Re: Rushall v Darlington

Just seen the goals from the game. The first two Rushall goals must have been very well placed strikes as Tommy doesn't get close to saving them, but the third goal seems to go straight through him. Those that were there have been clear that the defence didn't perform well but from the look of the ...

Just not at the races today. TT could have done better on occasions but he was by no means the worst out there today. Think only Rivers looked like he could play the conditions well.

I’m sure Scott Thornberry has been on here multiple times to say that the pipe simply can’t be moved under any circumstances.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

I heard a rumour the pipe isnt the big issue it used to be.
The reason it was there was to service the Teesside steel works which of course no longer exist.
Northumbrian Water are more open now to the idea of it being moved or built over, so I was told.....

Apparently Watson wasn't even second choice last time.
Just glad common sense prevailed and Howling got the boot before he did any more damage.

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

I certainly don’t think we’ll be looking to rotate/ rest players in the next few matches. We’re playing the same players every week, they’re in form, they are understand their roles and are continuing get results. No more Tuesday night games to go so we should be through the worst of it in terms of...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Me personally I would go full strength at Rushall and hopefully get the win which realistically barring a complete capitulation would see us pretty much safe. Then I'd be giving a day off to the likes of Barrow, Main, Cornish in the Chorley game. Are you stupid? The lads are being ran into the grou...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Watching the penalty incident on the video, if the ref thought it was a foul then it should have been a penalty. However to me it looks like the player tried to con the ref so maybe the outcome was fair!

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Another massive win. Pleased we don’t have a match Tuesday and now we can get two training sessions in before the 6 pointer next week. I see Bishop Stortford were relegated with 17 points today, 6 of which were gifted by us! Shows how far we have come in the last few months, Watson and Mitchell are...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Thought we were pretty poor until we scored, after that we looked far better. But I think a draw would have been a fairer result for a pretty decent Peterborough Sports team. The PA is rubbish especially in the tinshed, I never heard who was MOTM or the crowd announcement. The PA needs sorting. If ...

Is that anything to do with Robbie Blake 😂
No, that Blake was far too recent, think more like late 70s!

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

We would have lost that game over the last 12 months.
Watson is getting the best from this group of players and for some of them, we are seeing why Armstrong brought them in, Platt, Lees and Salkeld in particular

Blyth definitely in the relegation dogfight now.

Nelson injured, Cornish clearly not 100% and Main looked like he was struggling early on, kept feeling his leg and I wasn't sure he'd make the rest of the game. We could really do with some reinforcements and sharpish. Totally agree, really cannot understand why we are not signing anyone when other...

It's great that we're able to rely on so many talented volunteers, but being 100% reliant on volunteers raises issues. And when said volunteers just run out of steam then we struggle to replace them with a similar or better standard, ie the Kev Luff situation. Who knows, if Kev had been getting som...
