Re: It's time to go

17 clubs have signed the letter so it looks like an EGM will be held, whereby an awful lot of grievances will no doubt be aired. I reckon thee won't be enough votes to force the board out but there should be enough (maybe about a third) to make them want to step down, because to run an organisation ...

Re: It's time to go

This really takes the biscuit  The first time he's spoken for about a year and it's to say he's going to split. Then we get some OTT propaganda about how amazing he is. At best, over the last year he's overseen a multitude of cockups - however some might say the dodgy handling of £11,000,...

Re: Great piece on Two ex Darlo players

Robinson had well and truly burst into our first team. I remember in one game at Feethams he was just ripping through the oppositions defence with his pace, and they were reduced to tugging him back and fouling him. I'm sure Hodgson's connection with Dalglish would have helped this deal go through. ...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

I read through Dorking's legal mumbo jumbo statement and it's really funny (to me anyway) There are so many points in it that even if 10% of them hold water then it's a hat full :D Something like. Resolution number one should never have been called as by rule blah blah blah 67.9 they should have don...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

It’s Johnston lo - he has no “e” and there’s more than one reason why we had just cause, we’re going for a multi pronged attack. Personally I think there’s no doubt that the league decision makers have been found to be asleep at the wheel. That’s for over a year don’t forget. They could have and sho...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

Has anyone seen Brian Barwick? I had a look in my garden last night but he wasn't there. I'm going out shortly so I will keep my eyes peeled.

Perhaps the weight of his O.B.E. has swelled his head to the degree that he can't leave his house?

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

Was that the charge or was it just failure to fulfil? I'm going by memory here as I can't be bothered to hunt for quotes but I'm positive D.J always puts in the "just cause" bit. I also picked up something interesting from his last interview with Ray. He said that the League are now calling the sto...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

I thought Farsley were fined £1400 because they didn't contest it. In other words they pleaded guilty. Ah. You might be right - just been through the statements and it does state "accept the charge" which you are right could be "plead guilty to the charge". Not sure a personal hearing was an option...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

However, the Panel also had to consider the integrity of the Competition and the actions of Dover Athletic in relation to the other 22 Clubs that continue to incur much costs as they fulfill their fixtures." It should read "fulfil" but the League can't spell  And "much costs" doesn't make se...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

They issued the charges (as I believe duty bound to do so). Issue charge ("you have been charged with not fulfilling this fixture" - guilty or not guilty) issue penalty, and that would then result in appeal with mitigating circumstances "valid reason", and possibly, hopefully result in the penalty ...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

LO, You've forgotten Barwick. He has disappeared. I've been looking all over for him but he's not around - if anyone sees him let us know. The previous CEO did go. D.J. said he should have given a long notice period of maybe three months but he went virtually overnight, another example of double sta...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

Lo, anything would be better than this present board. If you read the letter that has gone in, the list of gripes/complaints/reasons is ridiculous! Point after point illustrating their incompetance. They double down on the rules that suit them but completely ignore the fact that they've broken their...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

The E.G.M. letter has now been sent and it's a very good read. It presents multiple reasons why the board must go. Was listening to an interview think it was Hemel Hempstead's chairman. He said a vote of no confidence isn't a vote for the board to actually go. It's to drive a change. He feels they ...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

Out of the 18 (?) clubs charged, it's interesting to note that not one has been believed to have had 'just reason" to not play.

I find this somewhat strange and there is something rotten about this whole business.

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

I don't agree. They are useless. They have ballsed up every decision and hidden the report about fund distribution. This latest 'error' just highlights their incompetence. It would take a very special team of idiots to do a worse job. I can't see it passing either way as I assume to get passed at an...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

According to Ollie Bayliss, National League clubs are discussing proposing a vote of no confidence in the Chairman & Board of the National League. The only snippet I’ve heard from Brian Barwick in all of this is speaking out in support of commercial deal. It’s absolutely shambolic. Bring it on. May...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

There should be an extraordinary AGM (if that is the term) and all of the board should be kicked out.

Furthermore if fans can influence this in any way they should get involved. So I agree with jillks - if anyone has any good ideas, put them up on here.

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

Apparently Bradford PA are fuming as they have received a £6000 fine because they failed to play 3 matches. They say they are going to appeal to the FA and are taking legal advice relating to the lies told to them by the NL at the start of the season. Too bloody right. It was always agreed that clu...

Re: It is no wonder this site is

Since "Seatgate" and all the bother with Gray there hasn't been a great deal of controversy surrounding Darlo, and we more or less sing from the same hymn sheet these days.

When the club is run in a sensible way there's less to chew over - even less when none of us have seen a game for over a year.

Re: It is no wonder this site is

Darlo Uncovered has been instrumental in helping to keep our club alive, and like all good things it shouldn't be taken for granted. The sharing of info, money raising and letting us get together to communicate, it's all good stuff and better than many other clubs have, even higher level clubs. It w...

Terry, what a hard bugger he was, allegedly he used to pop into the Waterloo for several pints on his way to Feethams before a game Just to warm up you understand.
