Hopefully we do have a back up plan & I am sure our Management team has looked at many options.
I don't think this latest development would have been a surprise to D.J.

Re: Sports village

When you find your level.

You maintain it.

By maintaining it you don't stagnate.

In my view that level would be the position that I put in my previous post.

How's that lo ?????

Out of interest what do people distinguish as the difference between stagnation and "finding your level"?
In National league 1 - having a spirited go at a play off place every other season season. A bit like where we were for years, except a league down.

'"The Championship is a financial nonsense. We've got clubs spending 107% of their income on wages, we've got the major distortion of parachute payments, we've got £400m of owner-funding required - £16m per Championship club. https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/exclusive-wigan-athletic-owner-au-yeung-wai-kay-defends-difficult-administration-decision-2906602 Wigan's owner gives a statement, basically says it's due to Covid and lack of income even though he only bought the club a month ago. They might be fit but they can't be match ready surely?

It will be like the kickoff of a new season with the possibility of odd happenings and strange scores, and I'm not sure what relevance the league table will have.

York are a good side but they are nothing special, I think they could come unstuck here. We saw the last home game at B.C. - that night Hereford did the classic hit and run!

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

I can't understand it, it's crazy - however I can't help thinking (in a naive way) that if it turns out to be one big scam involving people and money that may or may not exist then why can't it be nullified. All the assets are here in this country after all...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Looks like the Wigan fiasco is a lot more complicated than Chinese asset strippers. Makes the EFL and its "fit & proper" tests for owners look pathetic. The EFL penalty of a 12 point reduction is actually helping the scammers who probably have a massive bet on that Wigan get relegated. Surely a mat...

See Kyle Lafferty also released by Sunderland what a signing he would be but I guess will find a higher level club.
I reckon Lafferty will be on between £6,000 - £8,000 a week.

He's also a loose canon so one to avoid.
Is that why he was fired? Because he's a loose canon?

My favourite league game was Alfreton away. Our 2nd half performance and the way we all went mental after the 2nd goal was just amazing. This game was brilliant, it seems so long ago now that I was wondering whether it came from the previous season! But obviously the players wouldn't have played lik...

South Shields made the mistake of using local solicitors Hadaway and Shite. It clearly didn’t go down well with the bigwigs from the FA. York would have to play at Bootham Crescent as the new ground at Monks Cross would first have to get a safety certificate, which means testing with a mass gathering. Was looking forward to a trip up to South Shields, but with no relegation from NLN & no promotion, the only way they could go up is if another club goes bust. Would not wish that on anyone.

Apart from the Rugby club

Styche will be playing for Bedale Town soon if his career doesn't pick up, so he's history - speaking of which, what was the name of that striker who played for us in the early 90's, he left for a while then came back about 98ish but wasn't as good as he was? Yep, this is it Maurice, this is what I allured to above, and if these games take place then no supporters will be present and money will be generated by selling the TV rights. York and A'ham do seem positive so to find 2 out of the other 4 does seem feasible. Spennymoor would have been up for it bu...

I don’t remember him starting the “18/19 season very well” He seemed out of sorts, then after his first trip away with Gibraltar he looked worse and he never really got going at all, culminating with some bust up over at the Tinshed end with a fan. Styche kind of wanted to be top dog, this is okay i...

Your entitled to the opinion that Styche was a good player especially as he was part of a moderate team but I can think of other strikers who have been at least as good. Graeme Armstrong, Mark Beck and Tyrone O’Neill to name three and I would argue each of them was more of a team player. Can not re...

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

I’ve been told the play offs in theory could be back on. It seems the league implied that the government had brought in this “elite” rule but they never stipulated about which leagues it applied to. So PPG - the top 6 could compete if they wish. But they don’t have to, although if anyone drops out ...
