Re: Time for Gray to finish the job.....
My recollection of the Penney era was that it was rather dour. However, he did have a top class striker in Abbott for whom we spent 100k which is ridiculous really. Penney's budget pretty much guaranteed a competitive team.

Re: Who do we fancy then?
Andy Toman is an interesting choice - what is his experience of management, did he do a bit at Hartlepool? I'm not sure that musical chairs with other managers at this level is a good idea but if we're after a local bloke the field looks a bit bare. Toman lives up north presumably but what's his re...

Re: Tommy Wright
Before the long trip back yesterday I wanted Tommy to leave. However on reflection we as fans are a fickle bunch and shouldn’t rush to a quick decision. If we had won we would all be saying how good Tommy is. He has had to deal with losing some key players this season to balance the books, I doubt ...

As something to compare to Carlisle did an 8k for MK promotion today and they got nearly 10500 through the gate, an increase nearly 3 times their average attendance. All today's done is convinced me that there is no future at BM for us.. Sorry can you explain the link between this and the future at...

What is the point in spunking millions on Blackwell meadows for a two sided ground we won’t own, or spunking even more millions on a new ground which would still be objected to by half the fan base for “not being Feethams” when there is a perfectly adequate stadium we can rent on the edge of town? ...

Becoming effectively a farm club to the big 3 is an interesting thought and similar to the American model of sport. At the end of the day if it is the only recruitment strategy that can help us be solvent then so be it.

Car park is signposted off Cemetery Road and parking charges may apply. There is plenty of street parking from what I recollect last year. Away ground guide: Leave the M62 at Junction 26 and take the M606 towards Bradford. Just before the end of the M606 take the left hand slip road signposted Ring ...

Re: Darlo odds
Put £10 each way on Darlo today with BetFred at 25/1. I reckon we'll win tomorrow and you won't get 25/1 after the game. The bookies won't shift the odds for winning a game against inferior rated opposition at home. The Spennymoor game would be more of a signal for the bookies if we won that. I thi...

Enjoyed the game lsat night and pleased the hearts collection went well. For me, after watching us get stretched defensively in the first half a holding midfielder may be a necessity rather than an option. On a positive note Ainge was superb aerially, the new triallist (no 12) looked a real player a...

Absolute disaster of a move. The West Ham action group videos make interesting viewing. The saddest part of the losses experienced by local business because of this Karen Brady car crash project. I would argue that west ham is actually no more.

Re: Darlington FC V Harrogate
For Harrogate they're support was decent, they did have fans down the clubhouse side and up in hospitality. For them it was a decent following, considering the crowds they got last season. Harrogate is not a football town. I lived in Harrogate for 5 years in the late 70s and you're right it was nev...

I've been given an old signed football but is proving impossible to identify the playing season. The only signature I think i can read is Shelton martis plus a squad number. Can anybody confirm that martis number was 12 or a source where I can check this. Martis played 2005/06 .

Loan star is right. We had them when moving them was no problem. No-one was to know what the FA would do to us. The echo said Saturday that there were 2 potential signings from the same NNL club. If lowson is one who would be the other. The signings were delayed because the NNL club would need to find replacements. Hardly fits in with the overload theory but who knows "He had hoped to bring in a further two p...

We are a big strong striker away from being a solid team, really. Could maybe also do with a little b****** in midfield. Their sending off was a funny one. It was a shove rather than a punch, but he sent Harvey into the ad hoardings. The most notable improvement about yesterday was the fact that we...

Sorry for confusion, by saying "Tommy Wright involved in the decision" I ment the board had discussed it with him (and not just pushed it through). Seeing the Northern Echo clearly he was fully aware. Looks like with Bartlett he was certainly involved in the decision to let him go, and its clear no...

He's very talented. Maybe its just a consistency thing at the moment but I'm really hopeful about him. not sure how far you go back but reminds me a bit of a player I liked called Gary Twynham with his touch and ability to carry the ball.Beano wrote:It frustrates me that Wheatley isn’t starting.

Re: From the Echo Wright attempts to bring new signings
Very happy with that interview. Agree with his opinion on Beck would of loved for him to stay but with that clause in that contract you are always in danger of creating uncertainty. Anyone at anytime could activate that clause and then put our position in doubt. A bit sad that he is looking to brin...

Re: Taking Stock: Consolidation
Only question I would have was Tommy fully involved with the transfers of Beck and Batlett, if so that is fine, Other than that I don't think we need to be too despondent, we all know that there are some players that are struggling at this level, but we still have some good players if TW & AW can u...
