add David Preece.

but top of the list has to be Fred Barber - saw him pull off some of the best saves I've ever seen.

Re: Nice bit of trivia

I'm confused. Can you clarify the last team and the last to win something?!! The West Ham cup win in 1975 was the last all-English side to win a trophy in first-class football. GK 1 Mervyn Day DF 2 John McDowell DF 3 Lampard Sr. MF 4 Billy Bonds (c) DF 5 Tommy Taylor DF 6 Kevin Lock FW 7 Billy Jenn...

Hatfield's goal was great.

Curzon's goal was pretty tidy too - nice turn and curled in a shot that no keeper was stopping.

Re: Curzon V Darlington

I'll bet the owners of Curzon Ashton sometimes feel like they're pushing a large boulder uphill in terms of attendances. Last Tuesday's home game with Peterborough Sports attracted just 149 people. Must be a bit demoralising when they compete very well at this level. The ground's excellent (althoug...

Nelson's had a tough time with injuries - plus it's only 4 years ago I saw him at Tynecastle scoring the winning goal for Dundee v Hearts in the scottish prem in front of 15,500 people. can only hope Steve Watson can get into his head and turn him around. Lengthy layoffs and knee injuries can be har...

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024

It's also a real statement of trust in the management team by the fans. The very astute recruitment of Barrow as a first step helped cement that. And every interview with Watson is full of common sense, realism, level headedness and a determination. To the point and no bullshit, no flannel and no f...

Thompson says he has put in £8m of his own money since taking over in 2015 and there is no "external debt" for the new owner.

Wouldn't be averse to Jameson returning. Initial thought is we could do with a creative midfielder who's better than what we have. But....thinking back to many good darlo teams of the past (or any teams really) - having a solid defence can spread confidence through the rest of the team. Jameson, Bar...

Very positive day at the office. Clean sheet and three points on the road. Do it again against Southport on Tuesday and we’re back in the pack with games in hand on Southport and Banbury both of who are below us in the form table atm. Wasn’t a game of lots of chances, but most pleasingly we were co...

Think Asante started to show glimpses of a decent centre forward if a touch slower than he was. Might get sharper with game time.
Looked a bit ineffective during the game. But in the build up to the goal he was instrumental at holding up the ball and playing the ideal pass to set up the assist

Feels Like Gowling was possibly the right man but very much at the wrong time - an experiment to try when a team isn't in freefall. DJ has taken action and the two appointments have a very solid feel about it. Hoping Steve W keeps it simple for the players. Heard on the radio yesterday that the birm...

How did Asante look / do? Did all right, lasted nearly whole game. was able to hold the ball up . When he is fully match fit will be a real handful and we saw glimpses of how he can spin and turn defenders. Williams as well when he came on looked a good signing albeit for only a month. Lindley grew...

Gutted to concede such a late equaliser - especially after chances to put the game to bed.

Such a contrast from last Saturday's game where the players did everything you'd hope for. I wonder if Gowling's main (only?) ethos / style of play is too quirky for a struggling team? Last night an extreme situation, but at 1-0 down with a man off, you change your principles and line up with 4-5-0....

First time watching Darlo in the flesh in many many years. Delighted with the win and thought our 2nd and 3rd goals were quality. My main takeaways from today were that we looked solid. Lawlor and Burton seem a good partnership. Ngandu covered a lot of ground - not spectacular as such but suspect he...
