Re: Season VOIDED

If a player is furloughed, would he not have to continue with his current club in order to be paid? If so, how does this impact on contracts ending soon? They won't be paid after the end of their contracts until they are due to be paid again in the new season. This isn't unexpected for the players ...

Re: Season VOIDED

the Arena wasn’t all negative! We are drifting off topic here but we had a little spell at the start of The Arena where we would sit next to Matt Clarke's dad. When Matt scored the first Darlo goal ever and ran into the empty corner where no fans were at all, he stood up and shouted something like ...

Re: Season VOIDED

I’m with you on this one theoriginalfatcat The current table is a fair reflection of the season up until this point. It is not however, a reflection of a season, which contains multiple variables. Particularly in regard to relegation. It is not fair if one team in the relegation zone has played the...

Re: Season VOIDED

Yes priorities. Perhaps clubs think there are more important things going on right now than challenging this.

Maybe they recognise that the FA had a difficult choice and that they made one of many choices.

Not a question of integrity

Re: Season VOIDED

It’s also why I said 12 clubs have integrity. Based on his comment on social media I don't think FC United have challenged it. Neil Reynolds perspective, and they were second on PPG, was that there are more important things and they will reorganise for the new season. To say clubs who haven't chall...

Re: Season VOIDED

I think this thread is quite a measured view on why even PPG isn't perfect. Also seems to suggest 45/60 clubs who signed the letter would be promoted under PPG - not really a surprise they think it is unfair. https://twitter.com/DaleJohnsonESPN/status/1244972439957889026?s=19 I think it was always g...

Re: Season VOIDED

Equally as harsh! I don’t think so..... What is more unfair that losing your position in the pyramid than not having actually played it to the death? Remember the teams at the top haven't won anything yet, equally the teams at the bottom haven't lost anything as yet. So can I, it’s the easy option....

Re: Season VOIDED

Agree with Gramps would have decided promotion and relegation on a PPG basis which would have been the fairest way with the majority of the season completed. It would have been transparent and provided a clear resolution to the current situation. Under such a scheme Barrow would be promoted to the ...

The vanarama national league have got to make a decision soon for the sake of the games integrity. Uncertainty cannot carry on . Common sense has got to prevail. End uncertainty now plan for next season . Or end the uncertainty and plan for the resumption of this season at a later date. How would t...

Re: Season VOIDED

I agree, however some referees get away with lies. As in the case I have posted on he didn't know who said what, neither did the other manager or myself, yet the FA found us guilty. Surely both teams should have been charged? Yeh agree that happens to be honest - usually the same names pop up as we...

Re: Season VOIDED

The problem is without evidence then these things are one person's word against another. If they didn't back the referees then you wouldn't be playing anyway. I think about 30% of amateur football is called of because of referee shortages and the average time that a referee is active now is 2 years....

Re: Season VOIDED

The FA literally settled promotion at Step 4 last season using PPG. And we’re planning on doing the same this season (and presumably will do the same next season for the “new” campaign”). That is true. Sorry I did mean as a mechanism to finish the season but I suppose actually nobody really cares i...

Re: Season VOIDED

Are you sure? I thought there were just extra prelims on extra prelims that take place? The point is in the handbook to settle the season there is nothing in that rulebook re application of PPG. But there is a concept of FA Council having capacity to suspend the season and determine as hoc applicati...

Re: Season VOIDED

Everyone in between are torn between playing it out and voiding it. Or indifferent in the scheme of things - the thing with football no matter what happens the year before it all starts again from zero and with that new season optimism / hope and what has gone before doesn't really matter. I always...

Re: Season VOIDED

Was going to say what is the point suing the league they had no say in the matter. FWIW the FA handbook (http://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/rules-of-the-association/2019-20/fa-handbook-2019---revised.ashx) has two clauses in it. One states that the playing season must be ...

Re: Season VOIDED

Who can they challenge though? The FA have made the decision - the FA write the rules and provide the licenses to play basically.

Leagues have made it quite clear it wasn't their call and based on clubs response on twitter the reported "consensus" isn't quite reflected.

No derby with South Shields next season then. But derbies with Blyth & York, which is great. I'd imagine Kings Lynn will feel gutted, especially as there owner is likely too turn off the financial taps. Erm.... have I misread this our league has not been voided yet has it? Pete is just being Pete

Confirmed. Steps 3 and below of non League have ended. It's "as you were" no restructure this season. Results expunged.

That basically means no relegation from our league I don't think and who knows where Bury end up.

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

They don’t have to “sort things out ASAP”. In fact, it’s impossible to do that given we don’t know what the spread of the virus will be like. It could still be rising or we could be through the worst. We just don’t know. I think the fact it it is still rising suggest it is still rising to be honest...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Exactly in the scheme of things it really doesn't matter and football is firmly put in its place perspective wise. We are in March. I think it all boils down to contracts (players and commercial) and budgets. We have our time to play at BM o...
