Re: Contracts

Not everyone is as cautious with their contracts. Kings Lynn have just signed striker Dayle Southwell and given him a two-and-a-half-year contract. He had apparently been on more than £1,000 a week at Halifax. Another club with an owner pumping the money in. This is why we must aim for promotion as...

Re: Trotman joins villa

At least this means he should be happy being part time for a while longer.

That show is mostly about generating status to earn revenues as an "influencer" after the show. Limited shelf life but would also mean he could concentrate on football for a while after uni (doesn't he finishes this year?)

Re: Tonights fixtures

The thing is, there is a massive Elephant in the room. It’s really big and just sat there doing nothing, and it is - where do we play if we get promoted? How much will it cost? How will it be paid for? Armstrong and his players left Blyth because their chairman put a lid on their footballing ambiti...

Re: Guiseley

According to the radio commentator, Reid is our emergency keeper option. So he can attack, defend and play in goal. Tbh I hate it when we don’t have a keeper on the bench, one day it’ll bite us on the arse. I believe last night Connell was unavailable due to work commitments, do we have any other c...

Re: Tonights fixtures

It's an irrelevant result. We are enjoying a good run of form. It will end eventually just try enjoying it rather than worrying too much about league position.

Re: Guiseley

What a result. Lads are clearly confident at the moment and we have an organic squad rotation for defenders the moment one comes back from injury another goes off.

Atkinson on the bench...he must be close

I'd be going to Guiseley and Chester expecting to win
I think expecting a win is optimistic. Especially away from home against sides that are above you in the division when your record is W3 D1 L7 away from home!

I am hopeful we can get something given form - but I definitely don't expect a win!

Maybe - looking at that list and players they have since brought in I doubt there are many left. Their senior players would appear to be FT.

Regardless if they weren't last week they will be soon. Apparantely they are seeking to buy back the stadium and have expansion plans...

I thought they were too but a google search shows announcement by Halifax and Stockport announcing they would be going full time.

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

Also, we've repeatedly shown we can compete with full time teams in individual games. Taken over the course of a season we may not be able to maintain the standards we set in some of those, and we may be relegated again, but we wouldn't be embarrassed by any stretch. Of course we should aim to go u...

Donawa always looked threatening earlier in the season but remember he had a habit of dragging his shots wide. Seems to have really got some confidence now.

His natural attributes particularly his pace and leap aren't really things you can learn so he should appear a good prospect.

Is this defos our doing? Do we know if Scunthorpe would have extended if we asked? Wasn't the whole point to get him match fit for Scunthorpe? If not I guess could be an opportunity in the summer? Re: Darlington V Alfreton

I feel we are more ready than in season 1 when Gray got us into the playoffs. That felt like too much too quick. We might have to divert funds to ground stuff from the playing side but maybe we could yoyo until settled... That said we are a long way off actually being promotion candidates. We are th...

I agree tbh, that was until you've said that sponsorships received have been effectively entirely down to friendship and are pulled the moment someone is no longer the commercial manager? Using your network is using professional relationships for a broader business purpose, and to get in front of th...

I'm with Spyman on this one - if our commercial offering is dependent on our commercial manager being mates with people to get takers then our commercial manager should spend time refining our commercial offering.

Re: Gary Martin

Thing is we can get promoted where we are - we just need to do a load of work when there.

If we look like staying in the division then maybe the call to action is more likely to be fulfilled - if it looks like we will be relegated then it probably won't.

To be honest the direct style of play doesn't sound too different to what we used to get to our current division. There isn't one way to play football - which is why Stoddarts report seems to be a little patronising towards Solihull. From what I can pick up they did have more chances than us and for...

There were rumours about Turnbull and Shields long before Wright came in from what I remember though? Suggested he wanted to move there as closer to home and slightly less travelling for same money.

Thought the same with Gillies as well?

It certainly makes you wonder what wage he was on at Darlo? I mean you would expect £500-£600 you would have thought? More like 900 I don't really see how that would fit into our budget as we'd have blown nearly 15% on one player. Especially as it was widely reported that Hereford offered an uplift...

What about the aesthetics of developing Blackwell Meadows. Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

We obviously all need to see the plans for SV - but I can't see where £6million is going to be found to build a ground on "a plot of land" nor why the SV company who will own the site will allow another company to make money on their land. The likelihood is that the area will be operated by the SV. ...
