Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

There is already a massive gulf between league one and championship salary structure wise not sure the cap will affect it that much. Bournemouth wasn't exactly a complete fairy tale they were the biggest spending Championship club when they got promoted to the PL and breached Financial Fair Play in ...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

They don't have any argument, it's just too much trouble for them The PFA are just a union. They wouldn't be responsible for enforcing their stance will be to protect their paying members...in reality you wouldn't expect any union to come out and oppose any ceiling to earnings capacity of their mem...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

I am not sure why you are sticking on that - we all know the relationship between GAS and Spennymoor... The point I was making was that a wage cap is no exactly hard to get around simply by paying players for "other" servces through another company and that the FA wouldn't have a right to govern th...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Plans afoot for a salary cap in the National League as well. 900k limit in the National League, 600k at our level is what’s been proposed. a good idea. wonder how it will be policed though? will some clubs 'get round' this by adding extras to the overall benefits package for players (free houses, c...

Horrible news. Dave Pace could be hard work but the moment you got off the pitch he was one of the most genuine people you could come across the same for his brother who was heavily involved.

Re: October 3rd

To do as you say and void the expenses rules there would have to be a rule change. I am 100% sure that no such change has been made to this point I didn't think it is written that the home team must simply pay the expenses incurred by the away team. It is that the away club is reimbursed for expens...

Re: October 3rd

How can the home side pay expenses when they will not get any money from tie they would just forfeit it if they had any sense Not actually sure how it works if gate receipts don't even cover expenses. I always thought it was total gate minus expenses and then what is left is shared between the club...

interested to see that the York City twitter account says that he refused improved terms.
During this pandemic its an interesting decision / gamble to make - or maybe he wants to go part time?
Possibly or equally not a gamble if you already have even better terms already agreed elsewhere.

Is a reminder of how good our side was which got into the playoffs places in our first year in this division. Ferguson, Beck and Falkingham all part of that team.

Plus Jameson, Gillies and Turnbull as well.

Re: October 3rd

FA Trophy format had changed. There used to be 4 rounds proper before semis. Now it seems there are 6 rounds proper. National League sides enter at 3rd round proper instead of first round proper NLN & NLS enter 2nd round. The article states we have been given an exemption though? Surely if we just ...

Re: October 3rd

I suspect it must be because clubs at our level at given a bye based on PPG, or clubs are required to enter at the first round based on PPG. Vauxhall Motors who mathematically won promotion last season from Step 6 last season were pulled out of the draw to be excluded from the FA Cup this season... ...

Are we allowed 7 on the bench and allowed to use a maximum of 5? Is this definite? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Nope. IFAB have just effectively said that a configuration of subs whereby five are used is allowed in competitive games, as long as only used during no more than three stoppages. I...

How many players will Harrogate retain from their present squad as they will definitely want to improve the team. Depends what their ambition is. I suspect their current squad would be mid table, certainly comfortably safe, in League Two as they are. As they have been full time anyway so there shou...

As said above, Barrow will find that harder, but they will likely not be based in Barrow for day-to-day training to combat this (they were based from Salford for many years).

The other thing with Hunt his early football education was under Sam Allardyce at Bolton put simply he will absolutely know how to look after his body to keep going. Re: October 3rd

The FA Cup starting in September is massively in doubt now. The North West Counties have met and said they can't start without spectators so they don't expect to start until October now.

That would mean no earlier rounds of the FA Cup taking place unless the FA decide to ignore their pleas.

Bury still do exist unfortunately its a zombie entity with no players or staff and no membership to a league but still hold that "golden share" oh and a substantial amount of debt.

I say unfortunately because for as long as the zombie club exists Bury AFC will not be as successful as they could be.

I've just had visibility of some league guidance as part of the risk assessments that are being completed where it effectively states that in the case of local geographical lockdowns then action will be taken to suspend fixtures.

Its West Cheshire league docs but it's based on FA steer effectively.

That is for indoor household visiting, not for public places/amenities. Not quite - it also extends to "arranged meetings" at other indoor locations such as pubs / restaurants. Re: Maguire & Langstaff Released

Yeah the position of chief benchwarmer at Spendy is vacant after Boyes’ departure so they’ll be in for Maguire without doubt. A little surprised they’ve released Kallum Griffiths to be honest. Wouldn’t mind seeing him here but a RB isn’t a priority for AA. I was thinking the same and came to the sa...
