I'm heartened.
If they fluff just a couple of games and get a draw, then they're only two points clear.
Then, a win at their place would put us ahead on the same number of games.
Let's have it!

Re: A little idea I've had, maybe unworkable though...
Sickened by the folks saying: "Let's focus on our club, we've got a new ground to build, they'll always be a northern league club, etc" Fundraisers at other clubs didn't say that last time we were in the sh** did they? They didn't say: "Ah, they'll always be a lower league outfit, it doesn't matter"...

If bookies took bets on this league...
...then last night is the point that I'd have lumped my mortgage on Spenny to win the league - and to take promotion. You don't give a potential eight point lead to a side like Spennymoor before Christmas if you want to win the league. We've got the nightmare combination of a high-profile and fallib...

Re: West Auckland double their ticket prices...
Don't many league and conference clubs tier their matches and charge more depending on how prestigious the game is? Seems like the same principle, with us on tier one, and the rest on tier two.

More Non Brain Zone gold
Remember how they've been saying for weeks that we haven't played anyone? How the likes of Ashington would give us a big test? Now that we're due to play them, they reckon Ashington are no great shakes. Unless, of course, we lose. Then it'll be: "You've met the first quality side and bottled it." I'...

Right on schedule, we've been called Big Time Charlie's on NLZ.
You can't win with them. If we let players take the p*** we'd be accused of not respecting the league.
When we pull out all the stops to treat the league as seriously as possible we're seen as too big for our boots.
Nuggets.

Good to get points on the board, but very concerned about our defence.
Spenny won't be worried.

People keep saying that, Quakerz, but I'm sure the FA prefer something a little more concrete than a skint club promising to fix up a ground in time for the new season.

Re: Echo: Northern League prepares to welcome Quakers
I reckon it's true, Quakerz. Echo usually very cautious about breaking stories without hard evidence/decent sources. And when it comes to Northern League, they don't come much more plugged in than Mike Amos.

Re: Interviews have already begun....
I just remember the half-decent side he had when he managed us in League 2, and produced dire football as a result. I'd take Lee over Tait and Smith, but I'm still uneasy about someone untested taking the helm in a make-or-break season. Good players don't necessarily make good managers, and I'd like...

Now online: For the first time, Cooper – still popular with the Northern Echo Arena fans – wants his say on the “untruths” he claims have beenaired by Singh over his exit. “He says we had this top-three budget of between £900,000 and £1million,” says Cooper. “But unless people were telling me differ...

Re: Darlo Trust Statement (15th Jan)

I am now seeking clarification of what we, as fans, were told at the time of the original collections. If it was made clear that the money was for football in Dar...

Re: Darlo Trust Statement (15th Jan)
If the trust is to continue it needs a mechanism for decisions to be taken far more quickly.
When emergencies occur it's no use starting the planning for a meeting for a week later - there needs to be a way of taking the pulse of members online the same day.

Urgh. I'd now far rather another sugar daddy swooped in to help us limp along for another few years. I'm not interested in extraordinary general meetings, and AGMs, and committees, and ...
