Re: JG sacked
Sadly Gowling has already caused too much damage for whoever is appointed. I hope I am wrong, but I think we are in too deep with how much we backed him. The accommodation, paid analyst, Asante’s wages, selling Hazel etc. Alun left us with an unbalanced squad. It wasn’t ideal, but with the resource...

Re: Scunthorpe Away 15/08/23
Last night was not brilliant, but not as bad as some paint it, the majority of the team worked there socks off against a good team that has recruited well with a big budget,(which they may not have had as I was told they were delayed in paying there players this month). In the first half we matched...

Re: Meeting with board
Yeah kind of agree with the above. What was the point? The stadium vagueness is particularly tedious. Presumably they now have to find time to concoct an excuse because the town didn’t vote as instructed. No - it just adds a slight delay until the new leadership is elected. And the comment on playe...

In sure most knew what singh was like when he first came to hartlepool, but what was the other option, bankrupcy. Well the options were immediate bankruptcy, bankruptcy delayed or a miracle occurring (someone willing to spend £x on a club that doesn't own it's ground). They escaped the immediate ba...

If so I suppose that will limit the damage this time around.
Downside is that without the stadium few people are interested which is why they ended up with Raj last time round.

Maybe there’s some local assets he can give away for £100 like the teesport… if a change of council endangers the plan, it seems to me that it either might not be a good plan, or it’s tied up in dodgy mates rates deals. You mean like labour did with the sale of Teesside Airport to Peel? Citation ne...

Not that I pay loads of attention, but it did seem their league position had improved since Curle came in, so this looks a strange decision from the outside. I see now that this is perhaps more down to Crawley, Gillingham and Harrogate all having a considerable number of games in hand. Lets hope th...

I've just read the Echo piece, so it looks like the story is true. This is annoying, A.A. said previously we had no need to sell anyone, so if we keep on shooting ourselves in the foot by selling off our silverware then watch the crowds start to dwindle. Although we "don't need to sell anyone", at ...

I can partly see why he signed but I hope he realises that it’s very likely Hartlepool will be a National League team next season. Very interesting comments in York Press about their new LNER Community stadium. Biggest complaints were about half-time queues & price of a pint (£6.50)! Also a lot of grief about putting in a section of safe standing in South stand - cost of £250k. Wonder why this wasn't designed in the new build....

If that’s the plan, or a plan, it could be viewed as almost a demotion for all the league two clubs. Having to mix it in a regional league with all the has-beens and wannabes who find themselves in the EFL without really earning it. :o It’s not improving the League structure, it’s kind of weakening...

I think the plan was /is to take division 2 and the national league and create from there two 24 place regional leagues with promotion to division one with demotion to the appropriate national league north or south. So the first national league would be division 1 and beneath then division 2 north a...

Great read, at least the stadium is being used for positive purposes at the moment with the vaccine roll out! What’s frustrating for me is that there is lots of dead space in and around the town centre and I’m sure private money could be found for a 8,000 capacity stadium with the councils support....
