Re: Question

Hi all, You may or may not have seen that our merge was voted through and the team is preparing for the season at Gigg Lane, we have also been given allowance to use the name Bury FC again. Why the FA gave us special dispensation is beyond me - I can only guess it was done in an attempt to put the w...

Question

What is the situation with Darlo's ground, if you get in the top 5 will you be allowed to compete in the playoffs? For those who continue to follow Bury's story, we are set to have another vote on the Gigg Lane issue, all being well, the vote will carry this time. It's the Daily Mail, but it's the b...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

Thanks for the replies - I have no idea what it is beyond hatred and self interest with a fair whack of arrogance as well. There seems to be a belief that no matter what league this SS club is in, (most likely outside the pyramid), that fans will come swarming back to Gigg Lane. Personally, I think/...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

Personally, I have enjoyed,(if that is the correct word), the updates you have given us. I have been to Gigg lane many times. Sadly my main memory comes from about 1974? ish when 1 of our coaches was bricked by some of your jobs and windows smashed, and that after a 0-0 game. From what you have sai...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

I don't want to get into a debate or argument, as I say, I am only repeating what I've been told and equally I am not arsed either way. The current situation or the entirety of the saga isn't straightforward though, and certainly nothing like that of say Derby. We were expelled from the league in A...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

That is the rule I believe, though I can only guess that if this is true that the FA are willing to make special dispensation owing to the ongoing sham I have described above, in an attempt to help draw some unity. It is not for me to say if it is right or wrong or if I believe it will happen, and p...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

I think that they'd be playing at Gigg, but I am sure rules state that they can't charge admission or pay players at that level. How they will keep up pitch and ground maintenance is beyond me. I doubt they will make it very far before going bust though, after that, what will happen to Gigg Lane is ...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

Thank you for the responses - as ever it is a tricky and complex situation and its hard to explain. I think these people behind the FTP movement/Bury FC SS are essentially in it for themselves in order to maintain a position of hierarchy, positions they never had previously. The rules for the vote a...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

Just don't let the money men get control ,they will work to overturn the articles of association in Time so that they can become owners then the Phoenix people will be offloaded. Be weary .as long as the articles of association are water tight it's a decision only for your Phoenix club membership. ...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

My take may seem very simplistic, but if you have enjoyed the ride., have a good working board and volunteers, and have the will to keep going, why worry about what "another club" want to do? It seems to me that some, (as with some Darlo fans), want to jump back into bed with money men rather than ...

Re: Greetings again Darlo fans

Thanks for the replies - I think there are things in place to ensure that the club can not be less than 51% fan owned. Whether that can be changed down the line, I am not sure, but the business plan is out this afternoon so should tell us more. My issue, and the issue of others is that the 51% fans ...

Greetings again Darlo fans

Hello all - I have been away for a while and have finally managed to get back on here and update you on what is happening at Bury, its a long post but I would appreciate any feedback. :-) A lot has gone on in the world of being a Bury fan since we last spoke, both on and off the pitch. On the pitch ...

Re: Some questions about following Darlo in none league

So any Darlo fans reading I will have to get your take on this - You all may or may not have seen in the news that a group of supposedly wealthy Bury fans are on the verge of 'saving' the club. Now, before I will go any further, I want to point out that what the media is reporting is simply not true...

Re: The Bizarre Stadium That BANKRUPTED A Football Club

What was the deal with Reynolds and his apparent wealth, did he actually have any? He sounds remarkably similar to Stewart Day who spent the best part of five years being on the verge of making a business deal worth 60 million pounds. He chucked that figure about a lot and normally it kept fans happ...

We know your pain, Shakerfan but you will enjoy the revival of your historic club. Stay strong in that dream Well this is it in a nutshell really. Personally If Darlo had been taken over by yet another nutty, self centred "millionaire" then subsequently plunged into administration (again) I think I...

Re: Some questions about following Darlo in none league

Bury have had a mixed bag of results in pre season, but we have mainly faced higher opposition. Pick of the results being a ...

Re: Merry Christmas Quakers

I got to my first game on Boxing day where we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2. I loved it and found the ground at Raccy Boro more than adequate. It felt like a Bury game and my passion for the team was just the same as it always was. The recent developments because of Covid make it look like the...

Re: Merry Christmas Quakers

I should add the ground has at least 500k worth of damage that needs repair as well.

On top of that Wigan a league club with it's ground, training facilities, players and league place and just 20 miles down the road will be going for much cheaper.

Merry Christmas Quakers

Well, when I last posted I was hoping things weren't far off being back to normality, how wrong I was. Still, Bury have made a strong start in the tenth tier and sit top of the league. Thus far we have had a 6-2 win a 5-1 win, a 3-2 home win on the opening day with two goals in injury time, and a 1-...

Re: Greetings again

Thank you, some brilliant posts that I have shared with my fellow Bury fans. It is great to have a set of fans who seem to fully understand everything that has happened. One thing that infuriated me last year was when I read comments declaring 'Bury overspent, they've brought it on themselves,' it w...

Re: Greetings again

Good luck to all the fans who follow Bury. You will enjoy your climb back up the leagues & visiting some new grounds. I presume there is a danger that there could be 2 Bury clubs which is far from ideal, as 2 clubs will just dilute your support. Really pleased you enjoyed your day with us & like yo...
