Re: Punishment for the Boston game
A disgraceful day for the National League board. I sincerely hope the national press pick up on this story and they get the coverage they deserve. And putting it out on a Friday at 5pm. Spineless. Nobody disputes it's been an incredibly difficult season for everybody, including those running the lea...

Re: South Shields
I find the timing to embark on an expensive full time team strange when, while we all hope next season will be able to be completed with normal crowds, there's no guarantee at this stage. And I'm not sure how necessary being full time is in the Northern Prem in order to get promotion, considering th...

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final
Not sure what the ref was playing at there - fake injury in stoppage time, and then doesn't add a second on for it
And it looked like a pen near the end
What a frustrating game. Lets hope next season is better all round

Be interesting to see what he's like. The Boro youth keepers we've had are normally pretty good (or better!), and Armstrong has been after him for a while.

Re: Season null and voided
What a “bizzare” spelling of bizarre. I don’t really understand why he said it. In the context of this discussion, what relevance is it that most of his friends are spending less, other than to imply 80% is a good deal for our players, who “shouldn’t grumble”. In context, it makes perfect sense. Yo...

Re: Club Accounts 19/20
I'm far from an expert at reading accounts, but it looks to have been a good year financially speaking. If I understand correctly, the figure of a small operating profit of £14k excludes BtB, which seems to me to be a decent position. Obviously we had the cup run in there, but then didn't sell any p...

Re: Season null and voided
In summary, in Lockdown you spend less apart from your fixed overheads, it is as simple as that. This was a pretty big assumption like. I'm spending less, most people I know are. I'm not spending nearly £1000 a year by not going to football matches. Anyway, let's move on. “Most people I...

Re: Season null and voided
In the interests of balance, reads exactly like that to me
For what it's worth, I think we should, if we can afford to, top up the 20% if/when the players are on furlough.

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void
You can't force a club to decide early - they are entitled to 28 days to make a decision. That is the equivalent of you buying something which has a cooling off period and the seller chasing you to waive your cooling off period to confirm absolute that you are happy. It would be completely unfair a...

Re: League restarts 6 February
According to Dan Roan, the government are about to announce £10m in grants to steps 3-6, so I wonder if there's been a change of heart in DCMS regarding funding of non-league. If the National League are deciding the North and South are restarting without grants then things will get very interesting

Re: David Johnson : We are in a sad position
The government guidance on community testing also says that authorities should make testing available to those who leave their home for work and can't get asymptomatic testing another way. Is football a critical service? I don't think we should utilise them, more-so from a moral point of view rathe...

Re: David Johnson : We are in a sad position
The 2 week pause will take us up to that stage but meanwhile the players will still be on full wages and training because nothing has been sorted. So bearing this in mind, the cup game could well go ahead however what about the question of safety? Darlo and other clubs in their joint letter demande...

Re: Home Kit Vote
Option 1 is growing on me. Was a shock to begin with, but it could be a nice change up while keeping the hoops theme. I think restricting the home kit vote to owners too is fine too. Increasing the value of DFCSG membership will hopefully lead to increases in membership, which only benefits the club...

Other than 2, I quite like the options. Would probably buy any of the other 3, whereas another 'normal' hooped shirt I probably wouldn't.
I just hope we get a chance to see the kit in real life!

Re: Brackley v Darlo
Only Boston have conceded less per game than us I think. Our issue isn't the defence, it's breaking down teams who sit back against us (other than Blyth who are Northern League standard). Which is exactly what happened last night. We have some very talented attackers, but most of them like to drift ...

Probably the most direct I've seen a Spennymoor side and probably also the most dirtiest. It's not really something you associate a Spennymoor side with but I would say they more than met their match yesterday. Really? They played exactly as I expected, as they've been playing this way for a while ...

Lol so the idea that it is a requirement for the new manager to prefer a direct style of play was in reference to the style of play if their outgoing manager. I never said it was a requirement Although, as a general point, if a squad is set up to play direct football and you want someone to come in...

Are Spennymoor that renowned for being a club who wants a route 1 style of play from their manager? I am not sure when someone says Spennymoor I instantly accustom a particular style of play to the club. Whether they want it or not, they have been very route 1 the last couple of years on the occasi...

That's not fair. All of the above are cheats and should be viewed equally. Only if you view the act of cheating ...
