Re: Update Required?

- Estimates the national leagues would need 30 million to keep all clubs afloat for the season I wonder how this would work with clubs that are subsidised by a benefactor, i.e. not viable proposition without major backing? Should the government be chucking taxpayers money at a rich mans play thing?...

Re: Update Required?

The interview is superb

A huge thanks to DJ, Chris Stockdale and everyone else involved. The amount of work which must have gone in to try and prepare us for this season, as volunteers, is staggering.

Re: FA cup game to be played at BM

Tbh I can’t see why we can’t have a support package and allow in an albeit reduced, small crowd. It’s the same as supporting any business limited with low capacity at the moment. No me neither, but it seems thats the way it is heading at the moment. And even that seems unclear based on the governme...

Re: FA cup game to be played at BM

I will be buying the game this weekend anyway. I do hope we get a season for obvious reasons, but also to ensure our players get paid. While I’d imagine most have other jobs, this will be a significant amount of their income. We need support from the higher levels, obviously, but I still think we s...

Re: FA cup game to be played at BM

So we're starting the season, hoping that there will be financial support from the government (or Premier League) forthcoming. It was always a hope that fans would be allowed back in from the 1st October. Surely some financial package could have been arranged weeks ago in case that wasn't allowed an...

Kidderminster was the very first game at the Arena.

What goes around, comes around!

Although could be an FA cup game though I guess - which of course might well be Kiddy too

Most of the good away trips are towards the end of the season, which could be good if things have eased a little by then. Could be an easier start though

Glad the league agreed. Not ideal - but far better than only being able to get 600 fans in at BM for the forseeable.

Re: McMahon signs

What that squad has in that first season was momentum gained by steam-rollering the divisions below. That carried us to victories we probably never should have had. We’re slowly starting to build some momentum again with as settled a side we’ve had since that season. Mad to think we’ve been in NLN ...

Re: McMahon signs

On paper looks like the strongest squad we have assembled in our time in NLN. I dunno about that - that first season in the division we were very good. We had some excellent players- Beck, Thompson, Gillies, Turnbull, Falkingham. Going forwards we were exceptional -we scored 89 goals in the league....

Re: McMahon signs

Do you reckon he’s signed instead of a midfielder, as Hedley or Atkinson can move into the midfield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 100% So that's a selection of Hedley, Atkinson, Wheatley, Hatfield and Reid. Not sure how much guile there is in there, but a pretty decent selection of midfielder...

Re: McMahon signs

Interesting signing. I wonder if he's Academy coach first and player second, or if he's going to be pushing to play every week. Can't seem to find any stats for 19/20 for him so no idea when he last played regularly, but either way, having him in and around the squad will be a huge benefit. Between ...

Re: Pre-season friendlies

I seem to remember once when we are at HP, possibly our first season in Div 1N, the Northern League released their fixtures before the NPL, and then of course when our fixtures came out, some Bishop matches had to be rearranged as we had priority.

Re: Ground share

But I thought it was posted the other day the league have asked for the same dispensation as the rest of football. Effectively our league has asked for us to all be capped at 30% of 3000 regardless if capacity - it may be they were asking for the sake of friendlies mind. I’d assumed that was for fr...

Well it looks like the National League want the same rules as the rest of non-league. Maybe this is just temporary for friendlies, considering the season doesn't kick off until October when fans returning to 'elite' sport is planned.

I never saw the offending FB posts but assume they were triggered by a (now removed) Twitter thread from a former director who really needs to just fook right off? Yes I saw that now deleted thread too. Did wonder what it was all about. Maybe it didn't refer to DFC, but if it did it's been firmly s...

Re: impact on ground capacity

Step 2 and above seem to be classed as 'elite' sport. I wonder if the FA decided that for non-elite football (ie step 3 downwards), it was easier as a flat % of minimum capacity for the level. Calculating exact capacities of each stadia will take a bit of work I would imagine, which would fall on in...
