Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

I reckon Hartlepool won't be too far from being in the mire. Macclesfield town probably a certainty to fall by the wayside. In our league I'll be surprised to see the likes of Alfreton town to continue if we can't get going again soon with their very small fan base. Alfreton have a rich owner so th...

Re: Coronavirus.

Sad to here that Wigan Athletic have gone into administration & face the prospect of relegation to Div 1. I hope the football authorities are lenient on Wigan & I'm sure Wigan won't be the last club to go into administration over the summer. The authorities have NOT been lenient. They have said if ...

Re: Alan Walsh

It has been interesting to hear from Alan about his time at Darlo, especially his transfer to Bristol City. Allegedly Darlo turning down offers of 30 - 50 k , then ending up losing him in a tribunal for 18k. It seems the fact that we had not renegotiated a new contract with him, allowed Terry Coope...

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

Still plenty of uncertainty according to the Price of Football podcast yesterday. They reckon the playoffs will be null and void if the NL cannot give the EFL certainties over the start of the 20/21 season. Basically said the EFL would refuse to accept the play off winner into their membership. Sen...

Re: Woodgate Sacked

Hoped he'd remain at Boro to take them down. Was a terrible appointment, as he had no experience, a case of the heart ruling the head. Went way down IMO when he recalled Tyrone days before the Walsall game just to sit on the bench and denied the lad the biggest game of his career.Shocking decision....

Hull KR & Toronto will be relieved that there's going to be no relegation.
After the long break most of our injuries have cleared.(The 1 "good" to come from the virus), so I honestly expect us to get away from trouble on our own merits.

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

At this level I think a lot of players are on 52 week contracts ( even part time players) but this varies by club. How many is a lot. I suspect the vast majority are on 40 weeks contracts (which is why at this level you do see many players announced in May / June time). Rather than 1st July which i...

Hearing August 6th for re-start Pete.
No "loop" games so shortened season, and no promotion this year or league expanding to 14 to be decided, but certainly no relegation.

put our 2000 attendees in and social distancing would be no problem. 2,000 attendees? I thought we were averaging about 1,300 these days. 1471 last season Cool. So as called out at 25% we are c. 825 in BM. I guess the Arena is by definition a best option if the cost to hire is < 600 attendees (minu...

Can't win. If I had said 1300 someone would have said we get 2000 on a good day.

Re: The Team 20/21 season

Is there anything the Arena fanboys won't seize upon as a reason to take us back to that dreadful old dive? The capacity of Blackwell is 3,300... so even in such a situation where that 25 percent rule was enforced that's 825, not 750... the idea that walking away from Blackwell to play in the Arena...

The re-born club never got the football share, so maybe why some say its a new club established 2012 especially in football terms. If the club did gain the football share then They would have not gone to the northern league. The stupidity of the share issue is that a share is granted to the club, n...

For me the RL scrums is far better than the RU version. I usually watch England when they play internationals, but the most annoying thing about watching RU for me is the scrums. They keep collapsing & sometimes they can take 3mins. The RL version is very quick, which suits the RL game. When they p...

Now the authorities are proposing to temporarily ban scrums, on the return of RL in August. Good to see that the Cook Island men's team will be based in Darlington at the Arena, they could have picked BM. :D Where on earth did you find it? I searched high and low and all I could find was "Tees Valley". I did say on a rugby site it would either be the arena or the Uni campus in Stockton.

Well, I have been arguing this for SL.
As Sky have broadcasting rights to the championship they must have agreed.

Lets hope they do for SL.
