Re: Darlington V Chorley

It would be good to go some way to atone for that abomination of a result masterminded by Gowling at their place. This game on Friday has nothing to do with that. It's a game, we need three points to help us avoid relegation - any talk of revenge or of Gowling is not relevant. Lads. It's "Clowning"...

Re: Complacency

I've always liked Tommy Taylor and think he's one of the better keepers of recent years. If we part ways at the end of the season he can hold his head high because he's pulled off many saves which have saved us points over his time here. He definitely could have done better with their 3rd yesterday ...

Re: Complacency

I never saw that one coming. They wanted it desperately and we didn't turn up.

Both of our full backs got tortured and we were lucky that their number 9 couldn't hit a barn door otherwise it could have been 5, 6 or 7.

What else can you say after that?

Re: Rushall v Darlington

Keep the faith lads we have to win more than rushall . it's doable, right up to 15th place only 4 points difference.some have to play eachother so it's in our own hands to stay in NLN Why are you focusing on Rushall? There are several teams who if their last 5/6 match form is poor enough, could go ...

Re: Rushall v Darlington

It’s been a while but we were outthought, outfought and out played today pretty much the whole game. If it’s between us and Rushall then that makes me nervous because they looked half decent and certainly are battling for everything. We do struggle to match teams who are very physical. We couldn’t ...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

I can't think of any scenario where it would make good business sense to sink that sort of money into moving the pipe. Even in the unlikely event that DFC was to take ownership of BM, it would be more cost effective to build elsewhere on site. No chance. Assuming a cost of £1m to move the pipe, the...

Re: Moke gone

Not disagreeing with you, but its astounding that you (and others) have Nelson in the 'keep' pile given what the consensus was around him a couple of months ago. It's because he wasn't scoring and we weren't scoring as a whole. It did feel like he was never going to score again at one point. That w...

Re: Moke gone

Not sure exactly who is contracted for next season, other than Nelson, but of those under contract, who would you move on if we could do so? None - unless Asante is one. I just want all traces of Clowning out of this great club. I'm pretty sure Main and Hatfield are contracted for next season. I th...

Re: Moke gone

Sort of a shame he never got a goodbye game. Assume he must have an offer lined up somewhere. Left by mutual consent so suits both parties. Who is next? I'd say Sukar but if he doesn't have a club lined up or isn't fit to play then he may as well see out the final weeks of his contract. Then I'd ex...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Ah yes I was just focussing on the away end. I thought the exclusion zone ended somewhere between where the 6 yard line and 18 yard line hit the goal line. The point is there is enough space to build another off centre terrace there - if there was deemed to be value in doing so - and would most lik...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Def think some banked standing at the way end would really help possibly something we can take with us if we move. Have to get the RC onside though and that’s the hard job but people views do change. The rugby clubs only issue is they don't want their clubhouse knocked down - and based on plans tha...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Fully yes. The pipe only restricts at most a third of the away end. We know there is enough space to develop to step 1 standard. Not quite true. It restricts up to half of the away end and also part of the main stand side - it runs diagonal through the stadium footprint. There's a reason the stand ...

Re: Complacency

Job most definitely not done. It is still very much in Rushall’s hands, if they beat us they are 2 points behind us with a game in hand, and that game is against Bishop Stortford. All we have to do is win 2 of our last 6 matches (3 if you want to be sure), regardless of whether Rushall is one of th...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

It is a tad disingenuous to infer that an increase in playing budget is either irresponsible or out of line with other clubs at our level. Equally, any poorer financial performance eventuially reported for 2023/24 is entirely predictable and not uncommon for poorer performing teams. In short, these...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Me personally I would go full strength at Rushall and hopefully get the win which realistically barring a complete capitulation would see us pretty much safe. Then I'd be giving a day off to the likes of Barrow, Main, Cornish in the Chorley game. Are you stupid? The lads are being ran into the grou...

Just read a really good summary and breakdown of the last set of accounts recently published. Half understand it now and was very informative. Not a moan, honest. Just genuinely do not understand which roles makes up this figure of £185k on “ Management Staff wages” . Seems like a massive figure fo...

What’s happened at Scarborough?

In their last ten games - no wins, 3 points, and they’ve scored 1 goal. :o
I don't know what's happened at Scarborough because their gobshite fans have gone quiet.

They were all over our Twitter feed giving it rock all, now...silence.

I agree Clearly a massive error giving the job to Gowling. I hope the board have reflected on the decision making process that allowed such a bad mistake to be made. However, credit to them for correcting the mistake - and it looks like they did so just in time. I seem to remember there was a schoo...

Re: We’ve come along way.

To be fair 97 is correct. The appointment of JG was questioned right back when the decision to employ him was made. I was another not totally sure it would work out and when weighing up the credentials it smacked of a desperate punt on something different (JG) rather than the tried and tested (SW)....

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports

Next week reminds me of our game v Colchester in 89. Not win or bust, but certainly not lose. I say that because Bishops Stortford is one of their games in hand. 89 was roles reversed, as we were on an OK run, but Colchester was on a great run, and we crumbled under the pressure of the occasion. Wi...

Yes.

After he tried to bring Radged back because he wanted more money, we ended up doing the first BTB off the back of that. We raised around 43k IIRC.

Gray left for York not far into that first BTB season.

I know Nelson hasn't scored very many this season but he's a far superior player to Curry and we look a lot more threatening with Nelson in the team. Cornish is doing very well again tonight but Salkeld has vanished after a good first 10 minutes.

Re: Blyth V Darlington

Blyth playing good football but Matty Young is levels above this league and so assured. I'm not knocking Tommy Taylor who has been a good servant to this club but I do think Young has gained us extra points in his loan spell from making saves that TT might not have got to? Great distribution as well...
