Re: League restarts 6 February

50/50 is always there Ghost. I think we will be missing out on a lot of income. Match attendances will be higher than streaming figures for a start, then the car park and sponsorship. We have made the most of a bad job so far but we can’t keep on doing this. To me the streaming and grants possibly ...

Re: League restarts 6 February

They are not "quids in". No clubs are "quids in" right now trust me. We have made about 10x more from our FA Cup run than the money National League clubs get from BT over a season. Us and Chorley are potentially the most "quids in" of any clubs across the divisions when it comes to excess revenue t...

Re: Season paused

If the season goes until the end of June, simply start the following season late September/early October and run that until end of May. Then start the season after that early/mid September, finish early May. Then back to normal the following season. It ain't rocket science, although I appreciate tha...

Also the standard was considerably worse, games were played at a snails pace and players were neither as fit nor technically as skilled as those today. Re: Southport away postponed

Government losing control of the situation. National League running out of time to complete the season. Clubs unrest due to lack of transparency and communication over funding. Is it really acceptable to ask part time footballers to play 34 matches between now and May during a global pandemic? Sent...

Re: Brackley v Darlo

They should have always just postponed last season and finished it off at leisure this season. There's a genuine chance we'll end up with two half-finished seasons when they could've just completed one. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk I think, that with great difficulty, we will get this season...

Re: Brackley v Darlo

Instead of another forward surely we need a physical, big strong centre half and a proper creative midfielder. AA clearly has gone off Storey which is unjust to me but while I like Hunt he is not the big dominant, nasty type of centre half our successful teams have had in the past. I would have had...

Re: Graeme Armstrong YOURCLUB Q&A - Part Two

Excellent read. I would commend it to all 'owners'. So there you have it, Spen, in black and white: "thousands of pounds as a ‘signing on’ fee, plus a very good weekly wage" to play for the Pride of County Durham. This for a 33-year old bit-part player, what were they paying their top players???? A...

Re: Fixture backlog

Does the season have a definite end date? Did I read somewhere there was wriggle room? Has to end in May. FA have given special dispensation to keep going to 29th May but I think that would have to include conclusion of playoffs. The last round of league fixtures are on the 29th May so I dunno how ...

Fuck them. At first I would have had no problem with them being awarded the points. But after the behaviour of their keeper, crying on twitter that it may have to be replayed, while driving his car, and just being a wanker in general, then fuck them. Fuck them. Would I be happy if it was the other w...

I'd be amazed if Gray was even a consideration. He'll see how Tommy Miller does in the next couple of games while he touts around for potential managers. Wouldn't be surprised to see a shock contender for it. And as someone mentioned 'multi million point investment'...wonder if there's still potent...

If Groves has aspirations for his vanity project to go full time and replicate Harrogate Town into the football league, and at the same time lose a fortune, then good luck to him.Unlike us they will never become sustainable with that fan base and I just fail to understand what he is trying to achie...

I vaguely remember someone scoring at the Polam end after controlling a ball over the top with their arm which was really obvious to people stood on the terrace but the referee couldn’t see it. Can’t remember who it was though. Anybody remember this? I remember Garry MacDonald scoring at the Polam ...

Really think they are going to lift the tier before the Christmas free for all? To be honest I hope they don't, however I have heard from various sources who are putting measures in place that we will be placed in Tier2 next week. Could be watching Spenny at home on boxing day at BM. At the Arena. ...

That's the one I was referring to. About a year after Euro 96. After that particular injury he had lost a yard of pace and acceleration - so it looked to me anyway. That had a noticeable effect, whereas the cruciate in 92 obviously hadn't because he was almost unplayable for a number of seasons afte...

Didn't Alan Shearer and Niall Quinn injure both cruciate ligaments... Shearer at Blackburn and Newcastle and Quinn at Manchester City and Sunderland...Although I'm sure Shearer lost half a yard in his speed when he recovered, which I think was back in about 1997 or 1998 I think it was still at a ti...

The is with one eye on next Sunday, we have to give ourselves the best chance of causing an upset. Why? The league is far more important this year. We aren't going to win the FA Cup, and the big prize for a non league club - an away tie at somewhere like Man U, has lost it's value because there won...

Re: Team v BPA

What is doubly frustrating is that I have seen some bad Darlo sides over the years, some really awful ones, but I can't remember any of them losing the first 4 home games in a season. This is not a bad side, no matter what style we play or what our weaknesses are, there is a large element of luck t...

Re: Team v BPA

One last thing.

We were missing too many good players tonight - Hunt, McMahon, Liddle, Hatfield, Holness - arguably Storey (though Laing and Atkinson have done well together for me) - I get that Hunt can't play yet but could none of the others have played?

In all my years watching Darlo I can never remember us missing a player like we miss Hatfield when he is not there. Wheatley was good again today but he was on his own. And Holness. Hatfield, Wheatley, Holness midfield 3 in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 - problem solved. I'm with darlo2001uk in thinking that those...

You can have as many plans as you like but when a team scores a goal then parks the bus its very hard to break them down. Reid should have done better for their goal without a doubt. Looked to me like some were saving themselves for sunday on that performance. 4 times in a row this has happened - l...

Re: Team v BPA

Don’t understand the formation tonight. Why go 4-2-3-1? Just put Atkinson in midfield, bring Storey in at CH and not play maguire or O’neill. The two with Reid doesn’t work, he doesn’t have the legs. Hoping for Holness, Hatfield and Wheatley on Sunday. I can see why AA stuck with Atkinson in centre...

How often do you think we will be one match away from a place in the FA Cup 3rd Round ? You're missing my point. It's not about how often this opportunity comes around (any other season I'd be hoping and praying we make it and draw a big club away), it's simply the fact that getting into Round 3 th...

I can't believe that people are saying field a weakened team tomorrow to concentrate on the cup. We play our best line up for both, or what's the point? Why? I think you seriously overestimate how big crowds will be at the Arena... It was bad with 1500in I can't wait to be playing in a 25000 seater rust bucket with about 6/700 fans in. Depends what the council risk assessment says.... below 1000 I’d imagine if social distancing still applies....
Social distancing will apply so BM is going to be around 500 capacity.

So if we are in tier 2 and can host 2,000 fans then the Arena will be the only option.
