Good draw. Winnable. Now the hard work to get there. Howay lads
There's 3 leagues between us!

That's like if we were mid table in L2, drawing Man U at home and thinking it is winnable.

Re: Home to Oxford if we win

Good draw that. If we get through it's a big home game. If we don't get through the replay, it's not going to be devestating like missing out on Sunderland would have been! Not as devastating as thinking you've got Sunderland away, actually winning our replay for once - then the realisation that we...

Someone said somewhere else that him and Holliday are on loan at Northallerton.

Maybe we should recall them?

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Yes well done BBC and well done Alun. He also said our two internationals would be staying home and playing for us as we only have 14 players available! The match v Mexico on Tue 19th is a CONCACAF NATIONS LEAGUE fixture rather than a friendly. Assuming this is part of the FIFA competition calendar...

Re: Second Round Draw

Not being a doom merchant but I'll be surprised if we reach the 2nd round, reason being that historically lower league teams normally fail on their second bite of the cherry against a higher team. Cup shocks normally have to be done on the day or generally the chance has passed. Hope I'm wrong of co...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

That was great publicity for us and well done to the BBC for saying it was our first time in the 1st round since "being demoted 4 leagues", instead of the lazy and factually incorrect "since they were reformed".

AA sold the club really well and made a good plea for us to be on telly as well.

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Have the same feeling about which way this will go. Watching last night's game I thought Carlisle weren't all that but just had that bit extra quality in attack. The home side looked just as good as their opponents for long periods, which reinforces the point that there isn't often that much betwee...

Re: The last time we won 4 matches in the F A Cup.

Currie was pretty good? Christ he was sensational. Way more silky at going past players than a more robust Gabbers. And could ping them into the top corner from 25 yards - either foot. Sold for £250k back in the 80’s. Way way better than Garry MacDonald (who was a good player and foul for Currie). ...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Just had a read of Walsall's forum, it's fair to say they're a little bit nervous. Really we have nothing to lose here - they *should* comfortably beat us, but this is the cup, we have players who have played at L2 level and we're definitely a better side than our league position suggests. It's also...

Harry, did you used to be a prison officer at Guantanamo Bay? I really don't think you're a Darlo fan. You're the most negative person on here and you're incapable of any sort of debate, instead just taking immature swipes at people. So looks like Shields have come to their senses or were just play...

That truth being you’re a Hartlepool/Spenny troll on the wind up. I think you're right, he surely can't be a Darlo fan. Despite having a terrible injury crisis and no luck whatsoever, we find ourselves playing attractive football, on a cup run, and 9-3-6 in all competitions - which is a world away ...

We can't complain we've had a good run with a borrowed player that's papered over the cracks. Cock. Which bit do you disagree with? The part wishing him well? Did I see that Kneeshaw was warming up pre-game? Wouldn't be against that. Another creative option to have.
We were not clinical enough on Saturday, and generally haven't been clinical enough all season - WK does not bring clinical finishing to the table.

Most people are having a right twist on at South Shields for wanting a fee for a player who is contracted to them and belongs to them now feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but when Phil Turnbull fell out of favour with Tommy wright I don't remember us letting him sign up for the tynesiders free ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

Depends if you’re happy with 13th/14th place or not. As it happens...our stated aim for this season was a mid table improvement on last season - which 13th/14th would be if we achieve that, and a cup run - which we've done. So yes, technically I should and would be happy to finish 13/14th. But how ...

A reasonable fee is fuck all, for a 33 year old who is out of contract in 5 months. If Shields won't extend his loan, or let us sign him for nowt - then they can go and fuck themselves and we'll go back in for him at the end of the season. Obviously I'd like us to sign Connell, but to be fair Ellio...

My downer on Styche is he was a big timer in a moderate team I have to salute his goal scoring but he wasn't a team player and should have helped the others more - would we have him back now? I see their manager is Russell Slade. That means, whether they have 34 or 14 players to choose from, they will be a hoofball side. That may suit Styche as he likes to play off the shoulder, looking to get onto a knockdown or a ball over the top, but as long as we keep him quiet we should be OK. As f...
