Re: Sports village

One day our best prospect might actually be buying Blackwell - Even just the main stadium itself / clubhouse so we could own and redevelop it to suit a football ground rather than a small rugby club. The problem with public talk of things like this is that word gets around. People read stuff. Peopl...

Re: Sports village

Maybe an aspiration to be promoted to NL is our level, at least within our current accessible means. I'd agree with that. We aren't a league club. We no longer have a league standard ground. We no longer have a league fan base (although our away support has "league" written all over it). The league...

Re: Sporting Village

If Mowden go bust there's a stadium we can probably buy for a quid! Not that we could realistically afford to run it.

It might get demolished and we might be able to use some of the land, you never know. Anyone got a spare £10 million?

I assume after the play offs (if and when they go ahead) some of AAs targets will become available Can only be York City I would imagine.2 that have been rumoured are Nicky Hunt and Adam Wright's on, Hunt may have signed for Ashton and Wrightson has been offered terms by Blyth but nothing on whethe...

Re: Potential new signings

I'd have no qualms about signing Hunt although I really just can't see it. At this level, considering his quality, I'm not concerned about his age. His experience at the back would be vital and could make a big difference to our defence, especially if we get a solid no nonsense keeper behind him. Lo...

Re: Darlington Formed 2012

No, your opinions are not facts. One thing I DO agree with you, is yes, we may as well have been liquidated like Halifax, Chester, Hereford, for all the good that remaining the same club did us. The reason that the FA didn't give us a heavy points deduction like they did with Bournemouth, Leeds and ...

Re: Boost the budget

Seems every clubs bankrolled apart from darlington. That's the top and bottom of it, yes (in this league). Well spotted. As I said, only Darlo are pure. s i say not every club can be fan owned. Is it some sort of crime business men who are also football fans investing in clubs? No, it's not a crime...

Re: Darlington Formed 2012

The re-born club never got the football share, so maybe why some say its a new club established 2012 especially in football terms. If the club did gain the football share then They would have not gone to the northern league. The club was not reborn, not sure whether you just simply can't get that t...

Re: Darlington Formed 2012

I have always believed the share problem to be a complete red herring. A few months before we had went into administration, the FA had updated it's rules regarding clubs in administration to basically say that any club which exited administration without agreeing a CVA would be "treated as" a new cl...

Personally would not want to see Joe Tait back at the club. Nothing against the lad but don't think he will add much, or be an improvement on what we already have at the club. You don't think he will be an improvement on what we have? Have you forgotten Farsley? Or how about Telford? I could go on....

I remember Cartman scoring against Scarborough when they played at Bridlington. God what a bunch of arse lickers. No one ...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

I doubt we'd look at Martin again. It didn't seem to work out for him this year and I think was only ever intended to tide us over after O'Neill left. I'm sure if Martin had looked like a class act during his loan we'd have been desperate to get him back after his next contract in Iceland ends. And...

The previous owners were hardly wealthy benefactors. The previous, previous owners were wealthy benefactors though - Forgotten their names but they ran the club for about 3 years, and didn't they invest about £2m during that time? Re: Northern Echo...get it wrong again

Our ownership is different it's not fan owned fully because a club of our size (and we know our limitations with the size of our club due to various reasons) couldn't fully sustain at this level. You get crowds of around 1,000, so you could fully sustain at this level if you set your wage budget ac...

Spen has a point. We have had to fight tooth and nail to be recognised as the same club since becoming fan owned, in the face of ignorance, bloody mindedness and trolling. And now people are saying we don't care if others say we went bust and reformed in 2012? Why did we bother arguing it in the fir...

£114,400.

I'm still waiting for the right time to put mine in.

There will be others wanting to be part of the last day rush.

120k is odds on now, good chance of 125k and an outside chance of 130k I reckon.`

Alun predominately played 1 up-front at Blyth. Maguire the focal point, the likes of Rivers, Reid, Dale, Holmes & Wrightson playing off him. We tried two up-front at stages of last season and it didn't work. O'Neil and Campbell in a front 2, with Rivers and Thommo/Donawa wide, worked Anyone who com...

I see everyone is copying us. "Supporter led" Gateshead have a boost their budget scheme with an aim of raising 10 grand. Of course Gateshead aren't supporter run in the same way that we are - I believe they're owned by a consortium of business men/fans who put money in, so it's a tougher ask in tha...

Re: New deal for Donawa, Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes,Hedley,Reid, Storey, Campbell, Laing, Wheatley

We aren't part of the EFL. The majority of the players which we will sign, and have recently signed, are from clubs in the league above, current level or leagues below. There will be exceptions to that, but I would suggest the majority will be in those leagues where we know contracts have ended. Th...

And to be fair, I thought the 100k target this time around, considering the circumstances and uncertainty, was going to be a tough sell.

I feared we'd get nowhere near, and who could blame anyone? But those fears were put to bed in less than 24 hours of launch.

Re: New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley

Finished 11th in league let’s sign them all back on We'd have finished 7-9th, a point or two behind Spendy. We had huge injury problems throughout and the core squad is more than capable of finishing 7th-9th next season. Could we do with a couple of better players? Say a better keeper? A commanding...
