Re: Chandler

...although that said, it's a shame to see how bitter and twisted Chandler's become. Is there some backstory there? MoM at Wembley if I'm not mistaken, captain in the liquidation season, the scenes at Barrow, etc. Sad really.

Re: Chandler

Interesting to see his twitter profile is private...has this always been the case or has he just taken precautions today to avoid having his 'great training session with the academy kids today!' tweets bombarded with images of his 'fist pump'? Would I be right in thinking we've never been that...

Early doors head vs heart predictions

Now that we've had a glimpse of how things are going to be this season, where do you reckon we'll finish? Heart: based purely on Brackey, Styche, Ainge and Tommo will chew up defences on a regular basis and we'll be consistently in the playoff spots. Head: Right in the middle of mid-table with the o...

Re: Brackley Away Sat

Highlights from the weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wINP2VvQOLE Was that Ainge with the headers for the second and third? Looks like he and Styche have the makings of a formidable strike partnership if so...teams are going to go all-out to avoid conceding goalkicks on that evidence! Those ...

Re: Well done Tommy

Just speaking for myself here, but the fact that Wright & White have a close affinity with the club makes this achievement (if you can call it that) a bit more special. Most football fans support clubs made up of mercenaries, and it's nice when that's not the case. As a fan-owned club, the fact that...

Re: What went...right?

Anyway...other than perhaps the season where Reynolds came in at the end where form had dropped off a cliff, I can't remember a season where there's been such a striking turnaround. Can anyone else? As long as I've followed Darlo we've either been at least challenging for the playoffs or, quite shyt...

Re: What went...right?

Next up: how Darlogramps sold all his shares in Apple in the nineties but was 'totally justified' because 'their computers were shite then and nobody was buying them', and absolutely did not call that one wrong, at all.

(Sorry, can't resist! ;) )

Good thing nobody listened to your - as it turns out - extremely poor judgement on that one eh! :P

Re: What went...right?

Decent replies, cheers! I reckon a little bit of public humble pie chomping is in order from a few 'elder statesmen' on here who were really laying into Wright and White at the start of their tenure...if they had to carry the can for those poor results, they get full credit for the turnaround! (Havi...

What went...right?

(No pun intended with the title!) Can anyone pinpoint why it is exactly that we've turned the corner so dramatically in the last couple of months? As an exile it's hard to tell exactly - seems Wright's kept things simpler formation-wise and brought in decent players, and obviously morale's high now,...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton

It looked fairly evenly balanced judging from the highlights alone, I thought - I was under the impression that it was one-way traffic apart from the penalty miss and the goal.

Re: New stand now under construction

I could be wrong, but wasn't this allegedly looked at last year when we needed seats in for the playoffs, and we were told it wasn't an option? Not looking at this as a ground improvement scheme or to meet grading requirements, purely just for better viewing for supporters. Cost and permission to s...

Re: Monkey hangers

Must say I've barely thought about Hartlepool in the last few years, other than enjoying their last minute relegation last season. I'm hoping they don't go bust, but do go down - that certainly doesn't seem out of the question on current form. My only concern is that they end up entering the market...

Next steps for Blackwell Meadows

Pardon my ignorance/inability to have a proper look through past threads, having just seen the drone shots of Blackwell Meadows I was wondering what's planned for subsequent development. Terracing behind the goal? Extending the seated stand along the pitch? Apologies if there's a thread covering thi...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton

I don't think anyone, other than Pears, played anywhere near their best, but a win is a win. Couple of months ago we would have loved to be in this position! Exactly this...as an exile who watches Darlo on the 21st equivalent of Ceefax, I was checking every update through my fingers up until a coup...
