Re: King’s Lynn

All I'm going to say is look at how Blyth's season went last season and also bear in mind we've lost key defensive players to injury and of course Jamie Holmes. I think AA will dip into the loan market this week to shore things up at the back and move Atkinson back into central midfield.

He played the full 90 and had a goal ruled out offside? Which game were you at?

I think it would have been Adam Burnicle, Rundle retired last year after playing for Seaham. How did Purewal play?

It might be a hindrance to team selection but great for finance as we’ll receive money if they get called up and for each game they play.

Re: Blyth

They’d have been better off giving the job to Mr Blyth Robbie Dale alongside an experienced head like Harry Dunn. Clark was a big name given his ex playing days but it’s telling that no one has touched him with a barge pike and he’s been forced to take very uninspiring jobs since he left Huddersfie...

Re: Blyth

I think it is a bit early to write them off, they are all strangers and it is going to take them time to gel. Aye, but there's some questionable 'quality' in that team. How many players did they sign from the northern league again? Clark isn't playing Robbie Dale either, which is... baffling given ...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

Take Dan Maguire out of the Blyth team last season and I bet their performances/results would have been similar to what we are seeing so far this season. Not easy to find a striker like that though. Gary Martin is back training with us in a few weeks time, not sure how long the Icelandic leagues br...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

Our curse at Curzon lives to see another day! Defensive errors cost us as we switched off at the back and then our heads dropped. Hatfield worked his socks off and Osagi is still work in progress. This team has a lot of potential but needs time. On a side note, who was the keeper warming Elliott up ...

Re: Darlington V Kettering

Great game that. O’Neill was very effective and tracked back getting his foot in. The simple change of Bascome for Holness allowed Hatfield free reign. He also made himself available to the defenders so they weren’t forced into a long ball. The wingers were receiving the ball in positions where the...

From my understanding Watson, Liddle and Holmes combined wage is roughly the same as Ainge’s last season. Speaks volumes!

Four signings confirmed

Donawa, Heaton, Bell and Omar all signed up, we’re just awaiting international and FA clearance.

Well done Alun! Excellent pre season recruitment that has left us with a solid 20 man squad on a lower budget than TW’s!

Really wondering where tez fits into this equation mind. Pretty sure liddle will be our starting left back. Nice problem to have though. Can imagine Laing, Heaton & Galbraith being rotated. Liddle & Watson to cover LB, Trotman at right-back (but bare in mind that we have no cover for Luke meaning o...

If he has signed (which based on his tweet it certainly looks like he has) and gets back to the levels he was at in his previous spell, then our defence is looking superb. Laing has looked very good so far, Watson too, and we know Galbraith is solid. The only thing the squad appears to be missing i...

He’s currently on trial, I’m amazed given the amount of defenders we have including Burn! Would love him back at the club but not sure we can afford to have four centre backs. I've lost track of the CB's we have but if Galbraith is not included then he can possibly revert back to LB or midfield cov...

Glover gave the ball away too many times last night, we also weren’t as disciplined in the middle second half than first. Decent technically but we have at least 3 centre midfielders ahead of him at the moment with AA looking to bring another in. I think thats sightly harsh, he gave the ball away j...

[quote=Darlo_CR post_id=448665 time=1563280227 user_id=1812 Out of the trialists I'd certainly sign Bell and either Holiness or Bascome for cover in the middle once Wheatley comes back. Re: Darlington away vs Bishop Auckland

I didn't think Burn had a bad game last night, made a rash challenge which was triggered by an earlier elbow but he looked comfortable on the ball and distributed it well. Cameron certainly didn't look out of place in the first half, making some great runs and he's very confident and vocal for his a...
