Re: Darlington v Banbury Aug 20th
This goes back to what was said several times on here before the season. We need three first-choice strength central defenders because we have to expect that Wheater will not manage more than two-thirds of our games - if that. If that means someone out to free up budget then it needs to be done.

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
To be fair to Spennymoor FC they have imposed some tough measures onto their own fans too. No ticket sales at all on the day, and you can only purchase a match day ticket in advance if you turn up at the ticket office with a season ticket holder - i.e. someone to verify that you're legit! And all b...

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
This is a decision taken on Police advice, largely because there is a small section of supporters (as in society as a whole) who can’t be sensible with alcohol and/or have a propensity to behave like monstrous bell ends. Unfortunately the behaviour of these dolts impacts on the rest of us. We can b...

Re: Darlo v Rochdale
Sousa scored 7 goals in 14 appearances, not sure how many assists but I reckon a few. He smashes it at this level and with the way Beck and Hazel occupy defenders, would have a field day for us. Sousa would be amazing at our level , I’d love it to happen but really can’t see it! For me the priority...

Re: mark beck
In the same way we are looking at some teams like Boston and saying they are going to be right up there, I reckon our signings so far (especially Rose, Maddison and Beck) will prompt fans from elsewhere to be saying the same about us.

Re: Dos Santos
Doesn't really matter about getting money. It frees up a wage, and leaves a vacancy to bring someone in like Leesley or Sousa (who I think we have no chance of signing). Good luck to him though, he's only young and will improve. Despite being raw he did quite well for us in a few matches and scored...

Re: Potential new signings
Next priority has to be a central defender. We know it's not. It is a striker. Armstrong said this was his main focus. A CB sounds like it could be next if budget allowed but I am not convinced we can afford to have three first choice CBs when we play with two. Just listened back to the interview a...

Re: Potential new signings
Next priority has to be a central defender. With the best will in the world and with more fixtures to come this season, Wheater will not be able to play every game and we need another first-choice standard central defender to be able to rotate with him when required.

Re: Retained list
We could actually field a reasonably strong team with those we have right now. Not one that will make the play-offs without some additions, but not one that would be relegated either. Contrast that with our position 12 months ago - a big difference.

Re: Retained list
I come on this forum to read and discuss DFC viewpoints. Arguments are part and parcel of that - it makes for interesting debate. But today two threads have been completely ruined by ridiculous arguments that have nothing to do with DFC. For the sake of users who frequent this board to read and disc...

Re: Retained list
I'm sad to see Cassidy and Wheatley go. Cassidy drew mixed responses from most fans. If you judge him by goals scored then he wasn't a hit, and I guess goals are what most people judge forwards by. But for me his work rate was immense and he brought a different dimension to our team. I don't know wh...

Alfreton have never looked back since we missed those pens. We’ve done the opposite unfortunately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Interesting to see what they would do if they make the play-offs and win. They had a vote just before we played them to decide whether they should apply for relegati...

Re: Signings
Wonder what is happening with Tyrone O’Neill. Is he injured or just out of favour? Likely to be released by Scunthorpe I would think, but would we be looking to sign him for next season? If he just needs some time to regain full fitness he could be worth taking a chance on, but the memory of Andrew...

e4sby, what's your beef with ray the guy has done more for Darlington FC than most. No beef at all with Ray, I just think the media side of things would be much improved if he let someone younger help with interviews. It's the small things of reporting/asking questions about injuries/contract lengt...

Re: Alfreton V Darlington
An interesting note from their chairman in yesterday's programme. He said he had tabled a question through the members structure of the club: Should the club, although solvent with no debts, consider applying for relegation? It seems like it is annual question as part of the club's structure. He wro...
