Re: New kit

Voting 2 as it is closest to our hoops. I did like the pinstripe hooped glenwood kit a few years back, and that was an acceptable variation IMO. I’d quite like a take on the 3 thin hoops retro style too. 1 is a Newcastle looking abomination, and 4 is a crap, late 90’s early 00’s Reynolds era effort....

Re: Tonights fixtures

The thing is, there is a massive Elephant in the room. It’s really big and just sat there doing nothing, and it is - where do we play if we get promoted? How much will it cost? How will it be paid for? Armstrong and his players left Blyth because their chairman put a lid on their footballing ambiti...

Re: Lambert leaves

Just redirecting finances rather than an indictment on Lambert. We need a defender as we have horrible luck. It makes sense when we've got another midfielder (Bascome) sat twiddling his thumbs. I know Alun said he needs a loan, but maybe he will rethink with Lambert gone. The bench starts to look th...

Re: Justin Donowa

I hope we activate that one year option as soon as possible. I wouldn't stand in the lad's way, just want to make sure we get some cash in for him. I think he's a football league player. The more and more I see of him, he gets better, and because of his age, clubs will be alert to him. I reckon he c...

Re: Spennymoor game off

Laughable anyone would try and defend that. It’s clearly unplayable in that area, and the lino has to run up and down it. I also refuse to believe *that* is the only part (but even if it was, half of the touch line is unplayable - any referee will call that off). It’s was very, very wet on those day...

Re: Spennymoor game off

Rank amateurs. Too right they should be footing Altrincham's bill, but they don't get the wasted time back, do they? Their fans, however many were making the trek, nor their players, who aren't pros and probably had to go to work the next day.... for that? Totally unprofessional. No wonder they're g...

Re: Spennymoor game off

I think everyone understood *why* we called off the Solihull game when we did - even though in reality it would’ve been fine by the evening of the game - we didn’t want to take the chance, and it’s lousy to do that to other fans. Spennymoor, for all the money thrown at them, still operate like a nor...

Agree with the above, I don't think we should speculate on such things. He may have chosen to leave, he may have been let go. Whatever, it's his job and we should respect his privacy I think.

Regarding sponsors, I still find it odd we haven't tried to sell naming rights to the seating stand.

Re: Today's results Saturday January 11th 2020

It’s basically like the Harrogate game, I think. We have a free hit, with no expectations. If we could somehow end up with a home playoff game, that would be great, but I think we’d need to finish 5th to get one? (I think 4th & 5th play 6th and 7th at home, then 2nd & 3rd are at home to the winners....

What's happened to the big 'DARLO' flag? I can't remember seeing it since the Spennymoor Town match?
Good point. I hope if it was damaged that the club have sent ‘the pride’ a bill for it.

Re: Today's results Saturday January 11th 2020

We still have Leamington at home, but it’s a regular Saturday game. We’ve played them twice already, but once was the FA Cup.

The game in hand, which I missed, is Boston. Which will be tricky, but we can get something.

Agreed, great work Ginge, I like looking at these too. We have a great chance to push on, and I have every faith in this team to give it their all. What I really like the look of is our remaining fixtures. We've got a lot of the top teams over with away from home. Chester to come, who of course will...

Re: Harrogate Match

Late night thoughts on this one... I thought we did ourselves proud really. We really did push them all the way, and although there were clearly some tired legs at the end, we have nothing to be ashamed of there. 0-2 felt a little cruel, I think 0-1 would've been a better reflection on the game, whi...

Re: Elliot and Connel

I mean, Pears worked out for us, and I think Hemming too, for the time he was here. Right now, I’m absolutely convinced that AA had some question marks over Elliott after a shaky start to the year, which is why we wanted Connell so much. Ironically, ever since Connell’s stay was extended, Elliott ha...

Re: Gary Martin

If we were to be promoted this season the only option would be the arena, it's as simple as that. Unless the rugby club have a miraculous reversal on their current terms, DJ doesn't want to invest anymore money in the place. I've heard that DJ has been trying to renegotiate terms with the rugby clu...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

Red seats was always the wrong colour for us, why did George go for red, was it when he wanted to change the shirts to red and white stripes? It looks like the seats are almost completely bleached now anyway, so if we do go back to the Arena we might finally have white seats. Sunderland fan, wasn’t...

I suspect Tommy is quite a good youth coach. Just from his demeanour etc. He’s not capable of managing a competitive semi professional team though. Nice bloke but the writing was on the wall with us for a while. We’re so much more professional now... and I’m afraid to say, I think we were before whe...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester

Mystified by complaints about the pitch to be honest. You won't find a much better one at this level. It looks in absolutely fine condition?! It's a bit of an error by Connell for me, i'm a little bit confused by what he's actually doing for the goal. Weird how things can turn around for a player, f...

I'd definitely prefer Blyth to stay up. They're pretty dreadful though, so i'm not convinced. Maybe if they keep Roberts all season... (I can't understand why he's there to be honest, he's good enough to be playing pro). We can absolutely make the playoffs. I don't think it matters if we don't, but ...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester

Can’t believe we only won that 2-1 really. We could have been out of sight entirely by half time, their keeper made some smart stops. Second half we were sleep walking. Is the Gloucester goal the keeping error I suspect it was? Was down at the other end so hard to see. If so, I think Elliott will be...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

Essentially, it comes down to being able to sell more matchday hospitality.Any other revenue that the Arena can generate wouldn't be ours anyway. We won't own it. I just can't see how it would be boosted so much that it would cover having to pay two lots of rent, and justify essentially abandoning e...

Yeah, no issues from me. A calm, collected response is what is needed.

Spennymoor embarrassed themselves yesterday, particularly on social media.
Which was my point, and not at all a dig at loan_star.

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

What about the aesthetics of developing Blackwell Meadows. It is going to be weird looking with a seated stand running half the length of one side a standing terrace covering 2/3 of one end and a clubhouse down the other side. Will never look good and future generations will think we were bonkers t...

Some of the comments on twitter i've seen on twitter are appalling tbh. It's our fans fault for being in that part of the ground... not security, or the ridiculous plan....
