Re: Season VOIDED

I’m with you on this one theoriginalfatcat The current table is a fair reflection of the season up until this point. It is not however, a reflection of a season, which contains multiple variables. Particularly in regard to relegation. It is not fair if one team in the relegation zone has played the ...

Re: Season VOIDED

Well, evidently points per game isn't perfect, because some teams will have played a harder schedule than others. Honestly, my concerns lie less with the teams set to be promoted, but more with the teams you are condemning to relegation. South Shields will be very upset, but also, they're quite obv...

Re: Season VOIDED

I'm not sure I can give this a serious answer? One has been enacted by the government, after pushing appropriate laws through parliament, the other would be enacted by a private company!? They can void a season because that is in their jurisdiction to do...they provide the permission to play footba...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

I honestly believe there will be a strong desire for us to complete the season, and for that reason, there will not be a decision anytime soon. That said, I can't see practically how the season can continue after the end of June due to the end of players contracts and loan contracts. Some teams are ...

There must be some versions out there somewhere. I've no idea if the club would have any.

An online watchalong would be great. I've noticed Boro doing it and it's gone down well.

Gramps, your request for a personally engraved golden toilet seat is the most pointless one I've heard yet. No-one needs a toilet seat any more. We're all shitting in holes in the ground and using leaves as there's no bog roll. I don’t care, we are FAN-OWNED. That’s my justification for every decis...

That's that then.

To be honest, i'm not going to feel less disappointed when the season gets canned, which I suspect it might be. Or at least played behind closed doors at a later date.

Totally irresponsible. Regardless of lessened risk outside, 1500 people in a small space is a risk we shouldn't be taking. Just because it will not harm a lot of people doesn't mean we should recklessly spread it and pass it on to others who it might. Totally irresponsible to follow the advice of t...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

I think this situation if non league games are postponed Will be catastrophic for a lot of non league clubs survival, it's unprecedented. We could need some intervention from the FA / PFA / whoever to help these clubs out financially. God knows the FA can't be wanting for money. I'm sure we'll be a...

Anyone whose reaction to this is to go out and find another crowd to stand in (albeit a smaller one) is an idiot.

Stay home and watch some Netflix. Football can wait.

Re: Last home game for a while?

One possibility I’ve seen suggested is that the Euros are delayed for a year to allow for suspended leagues to complete their seasons. It seems plausible to me. I would have thought at our level playing behind closed doors might be more suitable at our level, but I can imagine the higher levels favo...

Re: Last home game for a while?

Yeah, but for example, the Scottish government is mirroring others around Europe saying any crowd above 500 is a problem to be avoided (conveniently from next Monday after the Old Firm...) so I wouldn't be surprised to see that adopted in the rest of the UK in the short term future.

It's not in DJ's character to be underhand like this though, and he wouldn't put the idea out there if there wasn't an idea of how to fund it. You're usually a bit more positive than this H. Honestly, I'm really surprised the decision hasn't been made already. It seems irresponsible at this point (not by the club, but by the authorities).

We can't fill the existing hospitality at Blackwell anymore because they've increased the prices. That is misinformation - we increased the prices. We added more to it which costs more to operate but the margin was greater we just didn't get as many takers. Do you think DRFC could be more reasonabl...

He's only 19. He must've either been 17, or *just* turned 18 when he joined us.

I suppose they must have seen something in him. Friend is knackered I think, barely played due to injury.

I always thought he had something about him. Interested to see how he goes for sure.

I wonder if we're going to see a change in the approach to hospitality next year then. It's looked notably emptier a few times this year than usual. It was better valued before - but also that differential for season ticket holders to upgrade should be looked at, so they deduct the whole price of th...

I think this is what makes Saturday so big. I'd love to see us just finish the season with something to play for. Even if we don't make it, just taking it to the wire would be nice. I think that's unlikely if we don't get the win on Saturday, as I think the gap becomes too great, practically but als...

Just to analyse further Ginge's point about us needing a hot streak and others to stumble: Let's say we got another 20 points. This is a record of 6-2-2. Tough, but doable. We would end up on 68. Now, due to our poor goal difference, other teams would have to finish a point behind us. So, to end up...
