Re: Darlo v York

O’Neill and Liddle back for the next league match. Thommo on the left to replace Holmes, with O’Neill signrd to play through the middle. Atkinson replaced by Wheatley. Right back signed to cover Trotman’s injury. I think people need to look at the facts. Aye, but. Is the quality of those replacemen...

Re: Darlo v York

No shame in losing this one, it sounds like we've competed, and I suspect they're going to coast the league this year. However, the league situation doesn't look great from losing all those games away that we should not have been losing. Games like this matter less when you're picking up the points ...

Re: Darlo v York

No, but I doubt he was agitating to go, unless he was told he wasn't going to play. The amount of injuries is ridiculous though. We'd have had to play a bunch of 15 year olds last year if this happened.

0-2 now, game over.

Re: Darlo v York

That decision to let Heaton go isn't looking great right now. Honestly, i expected us to lose this one, but losing a player we now have no cover for really compounds it.

I’d bite your hand off for a draw today.

Formation might be 4-3-3 I think.

Re: Darlo v York

For what it's worth, i agree with you that this formation doesn't really fit the current crop of players, and Campbell isn't Styche. Nor is playing that role particularly suited to O'Neills abilities. However, O'Neill in the line leading role would work (imo), with Campbell at the AMC / deep forward...

Re: Darlo v York

Looks like a sulk to me. Observing the above formation is how the team sets up isn't being trendy, or snobbish. It's reflecting the reality in front of your eyes. It's obvious to everyone else. Campbell is the most advanced man, O'Neill is further back. The wingers are more advanced. Just because th...

Don't think I ever want to see us have to play Watson at centre back... he does not look of the build to do it.

Atkinson, yes.

Re: Josh Heaton

At this point we can safely assume Burn is going to shithouse a wage for the full season before going and finding his true level in Sunday morning football. This will be the last season we have anyone stuck on the wage bill playing this game at least. Armstrong seems to have been much more careful ...

Re: FA Cup

Do we know when the draw is out? Honestly. Can we have a step 9 side at home please, and just try not to do anything stupid. Stockton, Marske, Thornaby or Sunderland RCA ideally, so it might bump the crowd a bit with local interest. If i cared about an interesting tie, i wouldn't mind Scarborough a...

Re: Ben Hedley

You'd expect Bascome, who has been very good this season, to be surplus to requirements? Weird thought process. I'll be surprised if Hedley has been signed with the intention of playing him in midfield, regardless of where he was used on Saturday. It does strike me a little odd, as his designated po...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I honestly have no real issues with the personnel that have been brought in. AA couldn't possibly have anticipated losing both full backs to one long term injury, and one potentially long term injury for Liddle (i'd be cautious of rushing him back when it's a knee injury). That would challenge any s...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

2.1 down. Can we start a Buy a Forward fund.? Campbell has 5 already doesn't he? I'd be more interested in funding a defensive coach at this rate. This has become really worrying form away from home. It doesn't seem like we play particularly poorly, but we leak stupid goals and don't score enough t...

I can only assume Burn has no desire to continue playing football. I'd assume if he had any ambition at all, we would have loaned him out. We have to keep paying him anyway. I'm assuming he's not fit also. But apart from that he'll be good to play, haha. Aye  At this point, you feel like...

Re: Ben Hedley

Purdie was a lower league John O'Shea.

Thing is, you can get guys who can play multiple positions, but they usually do have one position they are better in. Omar didn't look comfortable positionally at right back. You might be able to teach it, but not overnight.

Yeah, I do think it’s worse to intimidate a woman, and I don’t think that’s an particularly controversial opinion?! How would you feel if it was your partner, your mother, your sister? I'd be bloody annoyed. The same as if it was my brother, my dad, or my mate. Of course a man harassing a women is ...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

Belated thoughts: I'd still like to see O'Neill as our most advanced forward, as opposed to Campbell. We missed the Bermudan lads. Bascome keeps us ticking and looking forward in the middle. I was surprised to see Wheatley not Omar, who was ok, but not outstanding. I doubt he would've seen out the w...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

Yep, would say that is the team for sure. Personally, i'd like to see O'Neill lead the line, with Campbell just off him. He holds the ball up much better. It's almost 4-4-2 when he is playing anyway, so i don't think Campbell could complain he isn't being played through the middle or up top. Fancy u...

Re: Small clubs in the north west

I have every sympathy for Bury, but i'm sorry, i can't agree that Bury should keep a football league place, while you relegate whoever finishes second bottom of league two. Who deserves the place more, the team that battled and finished 23rd, or a team that didn't compete at all? (Personally, i'd pr...

Donowa and Rivers on the wings for me, Thommo on the bench today please.

I agree, those two are decent signings. The squad overall still doesn't look great though. Typical they sign these guys before they play us, just like BPA signings all those new players before last week. I'd still expect us to win at home. We look a good team this year, the results just now need to ...
