Re: Martin Gray

Wish I was a smart arse like darlogramps with all his big words etc, and his insistence that every comment you make on here has to be backed up with coherent, logical evidence. Just maybe when darlopete said he believed the new stand would be finished in time, he meant in time to meet the league req...

Re: Thoughts on investment.

This, and the other similar threads, is becoming boringly repetitive. I think we all need to just take a step back for a while, see what develops within the club over the next few days, and meanwhile keep the fundraisers climbing.

Re: funding must continue

I think there was mention at the last fans forum that the board were in talks with a potential sponsor for the stand (not sure if it was the existing one or the new one that we require). I hope discusdions are continuing.

Re: Hartlepool

It is worth considering the Poolies fate as we get ever closer to deciding whether or not we accept an investor to help our club to progress. 2 years ago when ior/hodcroft passed the club over to gary coxall and co, pools were debt free, and all the usual promises were made about the plans for the f...

Looks like Jeff Stelling has pulled a few strings to get poolies game next week shown live on sky. A nice little earner for them whatever the outcome.

Re: Price of this new seated stand we need

Commendable that Craig has taken it upon himself to find a cheaper quote for the new stand, but I question why he chose to post on this message board about it. I think it would have been better simply to pass his thoughts on to the football club direct, and suggest that is what he does when he recei...

Re: Fundraising Campaign

Highly unlikely that any agreement with investor(s) will be sorted out in the short term, I think we should press on with raising funds for the pitch as the clock is already ticking on . Cash needs to be raised by end of May to allow time for work to be carried out. After that, there isa bit of brea...

lets get behind MG and the boys

After what has been unquestionably a bad week for Darlington fc, emotions are running high and with an overriding feeling that the seasons work has been in vain. However, the one certain thing about this situation is that MG and his players have always given their utmost for the club, and I hope tha...

Re: Turnbull

I wouldnt expect Turnbull to look anything but unhappy when he was subbed. No player likes being taken off, but as good as he is, he has been below par in recent games. Having said that, he is not alone in being below par. After looking like we had tightened up defensively a few games back, we are c...

Re: Songs for New tin shed

How about coming up with a new piece of music for the team coming onto the pitch when we return to Darlo. I dont know much about music myself so unable to make any suggestions, but I am sure some of you fans will have plenty of ideas.

old football shirts

I recall some years ago there was a collection of football shirts to be sent to Africa. I think it was organised by Scott Thornberry and shirts were handed in at the arena.
Are there any plans for a similar collection in the near future, as I have a few shirts I am willing to donate.

Can't speak too highly of the lads and what they have achieved, bearing in mind they have played the last eight games in 20 days. Absolutely phenomenal.

Re: bbc cameras

Luckily I am in a good mood tonight, but I have two comments for darlogramps. First, read my original post again and ask yourself where I said I have got it in for the BBC. Second, if you don't understand the difference between craig stoddart, ray simpson and others reporting on darlo games for darl...

I think Fulham have been linked with a centre back from Wolves, so now that Wolves have signed mike williamson there could be a domino effect resulting in Burn moving.

Re: Darlington v Colwyn Bay

Was up on tuesday night as shown by the higher 50/50 payout, but surely the team deserve a better turnout. If the club is to grow and prosper the way us diehards want it to we need more people through the turnstiles, joining the supporters club, the lottery and so on. I know it can be a drain on peo...

3g pitch

I watched the darlo friendly v guisborough yesterday and whilst I appreciated the effort and commitment by both teams I just couldnt help feeling that there was maybe a lack of authenticity (if thats the right word) about the game. looking back I think it was due to the fact the game was played on a...

Re: Darlington vs Ilkeston MATCH OFF

My suggestion was to issue single match tickets but not made out for a particular game. This would enable supporters to buy tickets in advance and use them for any game of their choosing. However, I realise that there would need to be a considerable take up to make it worthwhile for the club and to ...

Re: Darlington vs Ilkeston MATCH OFF

The ever increasing backlog of fixtures is creating a variety of problems for darlo. The first problem is the pressure and stress on the players and management when they stat playing again with games coming thick and fast. Secondly, the recent lack of home games has severely curtailed the clubs cash...

I hope the club don't set the minimum contribution too high for the average fan. Small contributions from many fans are as important as larger contributions from a few more affluent fans.
