Re: Once the dust settles...

Players (or good ones) don't want to be at a team treading water, and neither will good managers. We've seen this year how the players have knuckled down and got results, and that's because they had a target, they had motivation and of course they had good management. So if Watson stays then we can...

Re: Once the dust settles...

I agree that the way that this season has ended is so much better than it was last year, despite our position in the league being far lower this time around. So what can we do to make the best of this momentum? The first question is to identify where we want to be in 12 months time. This is not just...

Have to admit I am quietly confident of a positive result today, we are in good form, Farsley are in poor form.
Funny how your quiet confidence has given me the screaming heebie jeebies.

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24

I'd love to think that tomorrow's game is going to be a plain sailing win, but as other long in the tooth supporters have noted, Darlo rarely do things by the easiest route. I know it is the job of our publicity machine to talk up this game to get more people through the door and on current informat...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024

Great assessment as ever. Yesterday's results show how difficult it is to be sure about any outcomes over the next two weeks. Narrow margins as ever. Had Southport chosen to kick with the wind yesterday, and taken advantage as Darlo did, we could have been back in the relegation zone.

Aidan is only 1 inch shorter than Mark Beck, but hope he can score as many goals as Beck. It will give us a new attacking option, missing since Beck left. 1" makes all the difference so they say  He's made a start at Warrington so it's not the size but what you do with it. Not sure height was ...

There have been rumours that there is a plan to have this guy on our books next year. On the basis of his alleged salary it would take a massive portion of any Boost the Budget to afford him. After all, if has been paid a small fortune to sit around doing nothing I dare say he will want a wage rise ...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

The referee has nothing to do with this decision but I remain baffled he’s anywhere near a football match after his tragic decision in the Spenny game on Tuesday. That decision has nothing to do with the referee btw - you could have replaced the referee with the best referee in the world in their p...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

The photograph shows the ball in its entirety well over the line by several inches so it is not 'just' over the line, and you fail to consider that the photograph shows this at a point before the defender's boot has made contact with the ball, which suggests that the ball would travel even further ...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

It’s a decision of very small margins, the officials have to be completely sure the ball has crossed the line so it’s no surprise the goal wasn’t given. It incorrect isn't it - but this summarises it. Small margins. The photo shows the whole ball is only just over the line. In real time it would be...

Re: Rushall v Darlington

Just seen the goals from the game. The first two Rushall goals must have been very well placed strikes as Tommy doesn't get close to saving them, but the third goal seems to go straight through him. Those that were there have been clear that the defence didn't perform well but from the look of the g...

The player holding onto Curry's shirt whilst travelling several feet down the touchline right in front of the linesman in the first half gave Peterborough the signal that they could pretty much get away with anything for much of the game. The player who got booked for pulling on Salkeld's shirt in t...

Even if he’s fit I cannot see the point in playing him as he will be miles short of match fitness with only 7 games to go.Such a sic...

I have found it illuminating to see many of the comments from Spartan's fans on Facebook after Tuesday's match. They are very much the same comments that were being made by our own fans a couple of months ago. They call into question the formation being played and the lack of a hold up player and no...

Worried with how knackered they all look. Desperately need some new bodies in but doesn't seem to be any whiff of that. We're a Cedric Main injury away from disaster. I was thinking that about Main yesterday. If he got nobbled we would be in bother. You are forgetting about Asante who is only two m...

Looking back before Saturday's game there was a lot of concern that we needed to shore up a defence that was missing a few first choice players, and yet with a renewed faith and confidence the team has won two games on the bounce with something of a patched up side. Before the new management came in...

Looking at the match highlights there was a case for a third sending off when one of their players in a fit of pique at seeing Curry score the fourth goal deliberately barged into him sending him to the ground.

Asante has been with the club whilst 14 games have been played. He managed to get onto the pitch in the first 7 (4 starts 3 subs). He has not even made the bench over the second set of 7. The team have 14 games left. How many has Asante got?

Maybe a job for Asante. Mr Q strolls around on the touch line and doesn’t interfere with play, so could be a perfect fit.
Probably not as I hear that Asante's latest problem is that he has picked up a phobia about barcodes so can't go near anything with black and white stripes on.

I think that the board have had this season in hand from day one. Absolutely 😂
But didn't say for the full session. Barrow given a run out. Kenzie Harker knows where the goal is.
